Our Thanksgiving was, as usual, NOT a Norman Rockwell moment... that said... Meghan, our cook... Worked from 7 till 4 at Walmart, yet still managed to prepare our meal... Julia, kicked in at the last minute and made home made yeast rolls... I was asked to bring the folding table, and they hauled the table from the kitchen into the front room and put both tables
together so we could actually almost all sit at the same table... the 3 kids sat at the kitchen counter on new bar stools... I saw the effort that was put into this... Julia asked if I wanted to take photos... I was like "of what?"... Michael was sitting at one end of the table, waiting and Barry, who was starving had
already filled his plate in the kitchen and was eating by himself at the other end of the table.. the kids had their backs to the table and no one else was
present... All of that said... there was a brand new green table cloth in place, round place mats and some new special dinner plates, Julia had bought on line someplace, that everyone was talking about. As we finally all sat down to eat, I realized our "cook was missing in action! Seems she had gone back to Walmart for early Black Friday sales that started on Thanksgiving evening... The dinner was magnificent, roast Turkey, baked Ham, mashed
potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes with
marshmallow topping, all the usual pickles and olives, and
cranberry sauce, and those
yeast rolls... our family's
traditional cranberry flips and all of this finished off with pumpkin or apple pie!!!!
In addition to all of this we
managed to squeeze in the
annual Photo shoot of
Meghan's family over at Intel...
