This is a trumpeter swan - it was nearly hunted to extinction because women loved the feathers for fashion and their quills were thought to be among the best for writing

Oh, wow! LOVE this! Love the photos and the background. We are headed out a week from now to see the Tundra Swan migration. Don't be shocked if I 'lift' your background. But hey, it won't look too much the same with my format.

Like everybody else, I'm loving your background--it's perfect for this part of your adventure. I like how you located the journaling, too. I journal a lot, and it's always a struggle to get it to look right.
