I chose option 1 for my 2 page spread, starting with FotoInspired double Template No. 17A, (only the left side was used hence the A) I rotated clockwise for both sides... It should be noted that very little of the original template remains...(some of the clipping masks, the staples and the large stitched frame). I had already placed the photos I planned to use on a couple of blank canvases, and pulled them onto the various photo masks picking the ones I liked the best and turning off the visibility of the rest and deleting at the end. I knew I wanted a solid grid for the 4 rectangle images and chose a double frame which was duplicated to make the 4 spot. the large family image with the cake had been cropped quite narrow and I decided I wanted it to go across the whole page... Much time was spent trying different masks and perusing what else might be in the store... In the end I took the current free blending mask and duplicated it crosswise several times until I liked what I saw...clipped the photo to it and then deleted the parts I did not need...I also used a brush to remove part of the bottom right side of it, which made the scratchy marks... another brush was used to put the faint light spot, top right corner. The diagonal stitch line which I particularly liked came from another template (listed in the credits)...spent too much time trying to find word art, not part of an art play, that worked and in end the end just used regular fonts for the title Haikus script ver. 06. and Cash Currency. The background of the left side is a dotted swiss paper with transfers over to provide color spots. The right side was a psd. 6 x 6 Kardz another of my favorite items. Transfers again placed in various positions to enhance the photos... used a script tease mask over Hailey on the left page and turned to white, added Vickis tape to make a little punch over the kids/legos on the right side. I thought the pretty pink blossom added just the right subtle accent for a spring related page... Oh, I extracted Hailey out a photo with a less than exciting background using Amanda Taylors method, which she learned from Vicki, she teaches this technique in her Art of The Photographs class.(will be offered again this summer)
