My son, Thomson, turned 17 today. How did that happen?! It sounds so much more "adult" when compared with 16 That old song "When I Was 17, It Was a Very Good Year" just kept running through my mind. The song is a bit too sad for my taste, but I do like this phrase from it. I remember 17 as a wonderful time - all things were possible and the future was brilliant and bright. Reminding him to "take note" of this special time of life seemed like the perfect idea for his birthday card.

Process
I loved the way Anna combined some of the Social Network elements in one of the Artsy Papers - but wanted to move things around a bit and use fewer elements. I constructed my version by layering in the paper, phone image and then the artsy camera (filled with blue). Next, I added in several different transfers and brushes from APP Social Network and played with the blending modes until I liked the effect, ending with Color Burn and Linear Dodge. Next, I added a Dripped Paint circle (Blending Mode Soft Light), and White Paint circle. Lastly, I added a few other elements and text.
