Journaling reads:
So, picture this: It's a chilly January 21st morning in Minnesota, not quite the Arctic Circle, but close enough. At 2:15 AM, with temperatures at a brisk 18 below zero, our hero, Mark the shuttle driver, arrives with his trusty warm car to whisk us away to the MSP Airport. The adventure begins! We arrived at the airport, checked bags, only to discover that Homeland Security agents don't start their pre-check lines until 4:00 AM. So, there we were, back in the regular security line, doing the TSA shuffle: shoes off, belt off, jacket off, purse emptied. As a Nervous Nelly traveler, I thought that was one stressor we were done with now that we had our TSA Precheck numbers. Our flight to Atlanta boarded on time, but wait! The plane isn't quite ready to go. There's a problem with the engines. Yes, let's definitely fix that before we take off. Maintenance is called, and by the time the engine is gotten take off ready and the plane is de-iced, we're over an hour late leaving Minneapolis. Good thing we had a three-hour layover in Atlanta. Others weren't so lucky and missed their international connections. I’d been obsessively watching the weather, knowing a big storm was heading for Atlanta. The last thing I wanted was to be trapped with Minnesota weather in Atlanta. We boarded our connecting flight, and guess what? It's late too, because it arrived late, and they need to refuel while we're sitting on the plane. Yes, please fill up the tanks before we take off. Yes, thank you, I would like a Bloody Mary. Finally, we land in Key West, one of the last flights to make it out of Atlanta before the storm and major snow hits. Paradise! It was 74 degrees! We dropped off our luggage at the motel, changed into shorts and t-shirts and headed out for, a stroll, let’s say highly motivated quick walk to our favorite hangout, Schooner Wharf, for our first Key Lime Pie Martinis. Talk about what a change in location and a change in latitude that’s 92 degrees warmer can do for a change in attitude.

Credit to my talented nail tech Ashley, and the Key West minion nails. One of them in having a key lime pie martini too so i had to use them in the layout.

Thank you so much Joan. I was an elementary school librarian for 35 years, storytelling was my favorite part. I tend to make a short story long :floorlaugh:
