In the late 1960's it took several years for a girl friend of mine (in a manager position) to buy a home because banks did not loan to single women in those days.

I collected several photos of Lena Horne (1917 2010) after she passed. Rather than writing her story, I decided these photos say it all. Once she was young, beautiful, talented and, she became a star. Toward the end of her life she was still beautiful. She was dignified and wise. But the pains of her life show in her face.
