Hawk Moth

I studied this same kind of hawk moth when it died on our sidewalk, I'd seen the catepillars, and had even taken photos of one sipping nectar from a flower. But it was a new thing for me, to see what first seemed to fly like a hummingbird and look a lot like a giant wasp, in a video.

Interesting. I don't think I've noticed one before. We have lots of lunar moths around here.
Oooo...luna moths are GORGEOUS!!! We have seen a few here, as well, but it is quite rare and so special when they do show up :heartpumpred: Hummingbird moths are super neat, the first time I saw one it was in Arizona and in the evening and I thought it was an actual hummingbird! I was excited to see them here in Alabama over the past few years, they are beautiful and so fun to watch :cloud9:

Interesting page and impressive moth, I can't claim to have any knowledge about moths apart from the infestation that ate my daughter's wool carpet Lol!
