"ALL About Me" Project Day 2 - Favorites - "Must Love Flowers"

My first memory of flowers is of picking a bouquet at our house in Newark, my grandmother’s house, which means I was 8 years old or younger. I wanted to bring the bouquet to the cemetery where my grandfather was buried. I think we used to go on Sunday, but I don’t think it was every Sunday. Anyway, I hid the bouquet behind the set of three garages in some sort of pipe or drain. I was greatly disappointed to come back the next day and find it all wilted. My first lesson in impermanence.

A lot more than just flower-love is represented here. My love of outdoors, making things (first time I wore my newest home-made sweater, which I love), a stack of books, my SF Giants hat, and other subtleties ;-)

The first thing I fixated on was that sweater--a granny-square!!!!! Crochet, I assume? The colors go perfectly with the flowers. Love this page visually, and all its significance.

I knew you would notice! Yes, a simple crocheted granny square sweater, but it has quite the story which I need to tell. I stood in various colors of dahlias before I decided on these oranges as the best setting :)

Judging by that sweater, you are quite talented! (Of course I know you are a talented scrapper as well.) I love the blending here and those glorious dahlias. Beautiful page!

I love how you are blended into the background on the left hand side behind your gorgeous photo and paired with a close up framed pic on the right.

Beautiful writing for this page. Love the transparent photo of you to go with the idea of impermanence. Now I am on the hunt for a granny square sweater pattern.

This is what I used, the Hattie Tee - it was a great pattern! I added a row of granny squares to the bottom and two more rows of granny squares to the sleeves to make it more age appropriate ;-)
