It's my Dad's birthday today! #87! Everyone is coming here tomorrow morning to celebrate but I have to wish him a happy birthday on his actual day. :)
I am glad that no one is coming here today. I feel like ****, I slept awful, and it's making my stomach hurt. I had to go to the bathroom, then the dogs needed to go out, and I made the mistake of checking the news in the middle of all that.
I had my 2 mugs of coffee and my stomach is queasy enough that I can't go for another.

Up until the rough night's sleep, I had a pretty good day. Got quite a bit done around the house, started my grocery order and worked on the Friday Field Trip. I even--- sit down for this part-- had time to scrap my Weeks 1 and 2 AJ pages!! :dance2:

Plans for today are making my dad's Birthday Rice Pudding, finishing the meal plan and shopping order, and then -- who knows? :D

Whatever you do today, I hope it is awesome!

Happy Birthday to your dad! I pray he has many more years with his family!
Sorry you are feeling badly today! Hope the queasiness goes away and you get some rest today! :hug4:

Good Morning,
Today is making the bank deposit, picking up the van for the widows' trip tomorrow, Mark's laundry, and, hopefully, more scrapping! I must work on my monthly pages!
Have a great day!

@LSlycord I hope you slept better and later today than you did yesterday. What are you reading now? My BFF recommended "Go As a River," so that is my next one to borrow as soon as it is ready from the library.

@BrightEyes :highfive: on getting your water in! Sorry about the bathroom run at 5.30. That was me at 1 am :giggle4:
The Campbell Family Crazy Canon gets bigger and wackier as time goes on. The Deer PeePee Dance will be a highlight.
That's very cool about the reflective number and flag on your curb.

@bcgal00 I hope that you are feeling 100% healthy today. You don't have any spare time to feel yucky, that is for sure.

@BoatLady You must be one of the few people to witness a deer peeing :rotfl:
The finch had that common conjunctivitis, and the rehab said that it is very treatable. We can call to see how he is in a few days and if all goes as expected, they will release him. We took the feeders down and scrubbed/disinfected them. We haven't noticed any other birds with that condition either.

Kay, that's a bummer about your waffle iron! Hope that you find some great sales!

@vickyday Have a productive day prepping for the Widows Group tomorrow. ♥

Thank you!
Basically finished with the devotions. Just need to read over it again and then do some print-outs!

Good morning. I fell asleep last night at 7:30 which had me waking at midnight. But it worked out ok because I wanted to finish my book. Since I read mostly on my Kindle now, I can stay in bed and read without waking up Brian. So that's nice. No preschool run on Monday's because the school that my great-niece and great-nephews go to does a 4 day week.

Our family dinner was pretty good yesterday. People are hanging in there. We had 11 adults and 6 kids. With all of those kids (all under 5) they don't allow you to dwell on your grief.

I'm going to take my great-niece to McDonalds and the library this afternoon so I'm looking forward to that. It's really cold here but no snow. Syd FaceTimed me while I was writing this to tell me that there is snow on her car. And she doesn't have a snowbrush. :brrr: :lol23:I told her that I have brushed snow off of cars plenty of times with my bare hands. Toughen up and go for it!;)

The dogs think that it is time for breakfast so I'm going to handle that and then I am back for personals and browsing the gallery.

@LSlycord Oh yes wiping snow off the car bare handed and scraping ice with a credit card because the correct tools were in garage at home! Kids these days have it made.
Sounds like a nice family gathering, I agree kids make us feel young too. Watching small kids make me realize why we have our kids when we are young- energy!

@faerywings Thanks for the finch update so it was worth the drive to help it so big thanks to your hubby for that. Cleaning the feeders is the right thing to do.
Wow that's a great to have a gathering for your Dad every birthday is a gift lots of memories to be made for sure. I am sure he will be very happy to see everyone.
I feel for you not sleeping well. I have not slept a whole night for over a month now but last nigh was the best with 5 hours so I am hopeful as I heal more I will sleep. And being queasy too...ugh I hope it all passes soon as you have so much going on.

Yesterday I made a "before kitchen" page for the Color Play monthly challenge...it was a good feeling to get that done.Today I get another gel injection in my knee--inside so the most painful one to get. Then I wait an hour to go to PT- it's all the same building. I will sit in the waiting room with my iPad reading. Hubby will drop me off and go home to do a few things. I hope I can drive soon I miss my independence.

@vickyday You sure do allot of running around with errands. I hope you get to scrap a little too. It must be getting cold there with the cold front moving in so that's a nice time to hunker down and scrap.

Off to do a few things before going to Dr and PT

I did sleep better...at least if you look at the total sleep. All the Missing Pieces by Catherine Cowles is the one that I just finished. I liked and would probably give it 3.5 stars. I just added Go As a River to my TBR list.

Happy, happy birthday to your dad!! 87 is something to celebrate!:birthday2: And I sure hope that you get to feeling better soon. I hate it when I'm nauseous in the morning and don't feel like I can drink coffee. That really is the worst!

So Vicky, I know that you had prepared the devotions and then the Bible Study was canceled but I'm not sure that I understood why you needed the van. I think that I had assumed that you pick up a bunch of ladies and drive them to your church but now I'm not so sure that is right. Whatever the reason, it is so cool that you are doing this.

The old credit card as an ice scraper trick. Used that many times.:cold: Sure don't envy you getting that shot in your knee...it sounds painful. But if it gets you on the road to independence, it will be worth it!

Good morning ladies. Feeling a bit better today but still not great but at least can function a bit. I have to drive Darrell into Calgary for a few medical appts this afternoon. While waiting for him I'll drop off at value village (both Jen and I purged some more), will pop into Winners to check out the xmas stuff to see what I might want to add to the decor this year. We'll be hosting a few get togethers so want to get the tree and decorations up by the end of the month. The next 6 wks are going to be crazy with all the craft fairs, parties, holiday events, etc. I'll need a rest in January LOL. I'm looking forward to no craft fairs for 3 months in the new year and then will only book a few over the summer, waiting for the xmas season as my main focus.

We are watching Rainmaker and enjoying it. I actually stayed awake last night until 10, after 4 days of almost complete bed rest. It felt good to be able to function a bit better. I don't make a very good sick patient LOL.

@faerywings Happy b-day to your dad! Hope your tummy feels better. Mine is improving now. I had been feeling nauseous for 3 days so glad that is passing now.

I have been sticking to 1-2 cups of coffee only in the morning (as it didn't agree with me as I was sick) and realize I don't need the 6-7 cups I was drinking before. I am going to limit myself most days to a few cups and drink more green tea throughout the day. I think less caffeine will be good for me.

I need to get out with Remi soon and get some unpacking done (being sick put a damper on that) before heading out with Darrell.

HAGD everyone.

All I can say is that it's a good thing we're retired and our hourly rate is low. It literally took us all day Saturday to fix the installation of the dryer -- which meant the washer had to be moved out and re-installed, too -- and so far about 5 hours to re-hang the folding doors, which is still not finished. The guy in the Lowes video did them by himself in 1 minute :floorlaugh:

Between working pancake breakfast at church yesterday morning, and a warm, mostly sunny afternoon, we decided to use a coupon I had to visit a new-to-us winery. Had a nice conversation around a fire pit with some friendly strangers comparing our favorite wineries in the area. But that meant no work on the laundry, but, like I said, we're retired so who cares.

It's my day to bike but it's 40 d**n degrees out so heck with it. Besides, I think I've come down with a UTI. I didn't have one for 50 years, now this is the third time in 2 or 3 years. I really have to be better at drinking water. Pretty sure that's what did me in this time.

Tomorrow we are going to a custom lumber yard to look at a live edge plank that we will use to put my lighthouse collection on in the kitchen....hubby's idea.
Those live edge tables and shelves are so pretty! It will look great.

We are setting up the tile floor demolition in the next few weeks so right after granddaughter leaves after Christmas we will be full speed ahead for the rest of the kitchen install.
Kitchen remodeling -- about the most irritating project with the most wonderful outcome! I remembered our house in NJ when we cooked in microwave and crockpot in the basement for three weeks. I'm sure you'll love the result.

I do miss having fresh herbs whenever I want them
I know! I have a lovely herb garden literally right out my back door and all summer I'm out there picking them as I cook dinner. The rosemary and sage generally do OK through the winter, and they're both good for a lot of winter recipes that we love, so there's that. I'm really going to miss the tarragon and basil. I cannot grow anything indoors, just too lazy.

Good morning ladies. I spent the last 3 days in bed...ugh. Nasty virus/sinus infection. My stomach is still queasy and I'm tired and lightheaded but feel like I am on the mend.
Keep mending!

I hope I can drive soon I miss my independence.
When I had my right knee replaced, it was 5 or 6 weeks before I could drive. Made me nuts. The left one was only a couple. I suppose I can look on it as a way to gain empathy for people who have lost the ability to drive.

The van is for 4 of the widows from our church that i will take to the monthly meeting an hour west of us. I do the devotions for the group of widows who attend each month. There were going to be 7 of us, but Ilene and Penny are not going to be able to go after all.

It isn't that much, but here's the snow we have today in northeastern Ohio. There was a bit more earlier this morning but it's above freezing, so that's a help. Don't know if we'll get any more. And I too remember bare hands and improvised ice scrapers for the car.

@faerywings Happy Birthday to your Dad! (he's less that 2 years older than DH so I can really appreciate it).

@BoatLady I love the LO of your old kitchen. In fact, I'm drooling over IT, can hardly imagine the new one. Ours is small and mostly very old.
