Happy Gunpowder Plot day to all those who celebrate. :crown1: :killer:

Or is it Remember, remember the 5th of November?:jail1:

Either way, it is Wednesday and it is chilly and windy in NJ again. Brrr. The sun was pretty warm in the afternoon, but the wind made it feel so much colder. Looks like more of the same today. My muscles and joints are rebelling at the weather, they aren't happy at all.

My entire day was rebelling against me, not just my joints. The retreat meeting was at 2 and I had plenty of time to get everything printed and prepped. I got there a few minutes early so I could use the guillotine paper cutter for the EO info/sample cards. As I was cutting them, I noticed that my printer program cropped them and they were missing the last 2 digits of the phone number. I had to toss them and reprint everything when I got back home. And that was the only reason I went into work, I could have done it virtually. What a waste of time. Pffft.

As I was driving home, I had a low-key anxiety attack and a huge case of imposter syndrome. I am leading the Forest Bathing/Sit-Spot Section as well as the mini-discussion of essential oils. Who am I kidding??? I can't do this! I texted Lauren when I got home, saying that she and Crystal were going to be awesome and I was going to be terrible. She cracked me up because she texted back that she thought Crystal and I were going to kill it and she was going to bomb! :floorlaugh:

I printed and cut the cards when I got home, today I'll tie the vials to them. I also have to write up a plan for my coworker's HS Pod, who will be coming monthly for field trips starting in December. This afternoon, I'll be cleaning for my friend and figuring out thwt ato cook for dinner :p

HAGD!

I'd love to have some scrap time squeezed in but I'm not sure if I will be able to do that.
Huhn.
Nope, nope, nope. And probably not today either :crying1:

Today I'm doing school drop off and then I think we may go look at cars. I absolutely hate the entire process! But we really need a second one. So I think we may go take a look.
What kind of cars are you looking at? I hope that you find exactly what you need, a few extra bells and whistles, and at the lowest price.
We only had one car for a really long time. It was fine before I started working at Weis but it made life complicated.
How was lunch with Brian's friend? Crazy that you never crossed paths in that many years but understandable.
I think it is because I think that I have so much time and that causes me to be so random. Or maybe it's old age. Who knows?!! But I need to get it stopped so I can accomplish something.
I agree, it has to stop for me too. I think it is a combo of age, unstructured time, and having too many irons in the fire. I never know what is my main priority and I flit from topic to activity to brain-deadedness. (Yes, Grammarly, it is a new word)

I know bringing in the feeders are a pain but not for nothing bird seed is expensive and bears tend to damage the feeders that are even more expensive. I laughed at your get distracted- "squirrel" I get detracted by the birds/water birds and turtles in the backyard. I am constantly looking out my windows-one right by my desk. forget when I sit in the Florida room with the full view of the pond...no concentrating there at all it's looking looking and looking more.
Aromatherapy sounds like a fun thing to do.
It is so true about the $$ for bird seed. I am rethinking my budget for that. I always put dog food on my Christmas List, I think this year I am asking for bird seed as well.
I started out using aromatherapy in the early 1990s and got my certification before Scott was born. It wasn't a "thing" way back then, at least not like it is now. I had my own small handmade craft business for a while, too but it was hard selling products here. Everyone would tell me they could get "lavender" hand lotion at the dollar store.
Yesterday I had gel shot in my left knee and some med that will reduce inflammation well they made a huge difference already
Yay!!! That's awesome and I bet the more you can move, the less stiff you will be. (Just don't push yourself! :exitroom:)

Good morning ladies. I am back. Lots of unpacking, culling and editing of images, housework, laundry and lots of dog love today as they really mised us while we were in Churchill with the polar bear tour.
Welcome back! The photos I saw on FB were amazing! How close did you get to the polar bears?
Poor puppies must have missed you so much. Remi is such a velcro dog ♥

Loved the tour group and will be booking two more trips with them today. One will be a tour of Newfoundland next spring and the year after we'll go to Columbia with the group.
What wildlife will you be observing there?

life will get busy again, the holiday craft markets start up next wkend and will go until mid Dec so I need to stockpile this week. Why did I ever think retirement would be lazy and slow LOL. Not my life, that's for sure.
Nope, not even close to lazy and slow! But you would be bored out of your mind if it were :giggle4:

I just remembered that I meant to ask you about your EO mixture you made for your retreat. Can you share, please? And what and how it is to specifically be used? I have some EOs that I never have done anything with and I would like to!
The blend that I made is 30% Fir Needle, 30% Rosemary, 20% Lavender, and 20% Lemon essential oils.
Undiluted, it can be used in a diffuser. If you want to use it topically in a lotion or massage oil, you'll need to dilute it 1-3%. So 1 ml of essential oil would be mixed into 2-4 oz of your base. (1 ml is ~22 drops).
If you tell me what oils you have, I can give you some ideas of what they would be good for and make a blend. Each oil has hundreds of chemical constituents so when you blend them, they combine to work together in new and better ways. It's called a synergistic blend. The "sum is more than its parts" principle.
EOs can affect moods and can be used for medical concerns. For you, I would suggest a blend of ginger, roman chamomile, and a touch of peppermint blended into a massage oil. You would then massage that into your abdomen. The oil molecules are small enough to absorb into your skin/bloodstream and act on the affected area. Ginger and peppermint are digestives, and R. chamomile/peppermint are antispasmodic. They could be helpful for IBS symptoms.
(Disclaimer-- not intended for medical advice :p )
I could go on (and on) how the oils get from your nose into your brain/limbic system, but I'll be nice and only drone on about it if anyone is interested LOL!
I changed up the format of the 30 Days Challenge a bit. I changed the name from Gratitude Challenge to just Challenge. I'm surprised I have no takers to join me with the challenge. I'm hoping changing the name will help! But, it is keeping myself accountable at any rate.
I wish I had more time. Boo. I would love to join in but I am struggling with a capital S.
Is your stomach feeling any better? :praying2:
Wow, that is awesome that your pastor is renting a van for you! :highfive: You are doing amazing work ♥

Had a fiasco when I went to fix breakfast for us this morning. I was using a new brand of pancake/waffle mix. Followed the directions on the box for waffles but when I opened the waffle iron with the first waffle - it split in the center and each side stuck to the iron
What a disappointing mess. Did the pancakes at least taste good?
Will DS-IL come back to you before he heads home? That will be nice if he does.

Time to get my day started.
#1. Write a detailed To-Do List
#2. Stick to it.
#3. NO Squirrels (literal or figurative :lol23:)

Hugs!!!

Good morning. Yesterday Wavy learned the letter C so we talked about all of the words that start with the letter C. And we noticed that the birds were on the wires again today as we drove. That school drop off is, without a doubt, the very best part of my day!

On the docket today is finishing up my "to do" lists and actually getting some of it "done"! :multitasking: Lunch with a very dear friend that I used to work with. We haven't seen each other in six years. When we start talking, we just can't get our words out fast enough!

It does seem like it is Thursday...I've been a day ahead all week.

I ordered peony bushes, iris and crocus from Breck's. Prepped the new garden space and got ready for fall planting. I ordered them on October 7 and they still haven't arrived. So yesterday, I called Customer Service. They told me that they believe that they will be here by the first week of December. What??? I'm not in Florida. I don't know if I'll be able to plant by then. I suggested that I would like a refund. But they told me that I can't have that. They said that they will replace the bulbs if they get here too late for me to plant. Good grief.:banghead:

I'll get back to you. Im at the doc with Mark.

Good morning ladies. I feel a bit more normal this morning. I'm heading out the door soon, for Calgary, to pick up some table number holders for the grammas xmas party, then will go drop off my donation for a door prize at the xmas market that is next wkend. If I get it all done soon enough I can head back home and go to canasta for noon. Remi will have to get her walk when I get back late afternoon. Busy day (of course). Tonight I will work on jewelry as I binge a few shows.

@faerywings All I can say is "you got this" b/c you always do :) Not sure what we'll see in Colombia but its a birding photography tour so I feel confident that our leader will find some great spots for us. Possibly condors, hummingbirds, jaguars, dolphins, monkeys, parrots and lots more birds.

Also need to get groceries later. I need creamer for coffee, I CANNOT drink it black...yuck. HAGD everyone.

So I thought I had a nice long day yesterday with nothing much to do, so would catch up on some reading and scrapping. And then David wanders by and suggests he'd like to go out for a drive, look at fall colors, have lunch out.... Well, who could say no? However, the color is past peak up on the Blue Ridge, where we'd normally go, so I quickly figured out a scenic drive to a state park we've never visited, about an hour and a half away. Don't you know, when we got there there was a sign on the gate, closed for Tuesday and Wednesday for Resource Management! It never even occurred to me to check. I mean, why would it? Luckily, in that part of Virginia there are battlefield sites everywhere, so we took a hike at Spotsylvania. Anyway, by the time we got back I barely had time to put leftover soup in the microwave for dinner before rushing out to chorus.

What are you asking for/gifting this year?
I read a story in the NY Times about people who have died in hotels and Air B&Bs from carbon monoxide fumes. So all adults on my list are getting a travel CO monitor. David thinks it's a dumb gift but I'm including a note about why.

Did you catch my story of how I almost drove into a Great Blue Heron? Actually, he almost flew into my windshield- dang, that is a big bird! Scared the bejeezes out of me.
Oh, wow. Once I was driving down a rural road in one of the local "hollers" and as I came around a corner I startled a bald eagle, who had knocked over a garbage can and was feasting. Those birds are HUGE when they're coming at your windshield!

I hear you about looking for cars...I hate it too. I keep my cars 10 or more years just so I don't have to shop again. Good luck
I had my last car 17 years. Car shopping is a little bit of hell on earth. Once I knew what I wanted, and ordered it through my credit union, and it got driven right to my office for delivery. That wasn't terrible.
