Who wants to guess what the weather is like today?
If you guessed chilly, rainy, damp, and annoying--- :wehaveawinner:

BFF and I were chatting and the weather is not helping with our cranky moods, that is for sure. just blerg

I think I got a lot done yesterday around the house and I even had time/energy to scrap. I finished my AJ week 3 and began the prep for week 4.
Sheesh... it *felt* like I was busy all day but looking back, I can't think of anything else I did. Unless you actually want to hear about how I cleaned out the fridge..... ;)

I am working my last field trip of the season today and it is supposed to rain the entire day. I am working at the stream, so what is a little more water?

I have a request for good thoughts and prayers for Sam and her family, please. They have to go to court today. The driver who killed her brother took a plea deal and today is his sentencing. She told me that as of right now, he is looking at a 3-month suspension of his license and 1 year of probation. That's it.
The judge can accept that or adjust it as she sees fit but who knows? Today is when the family speaks to the judge and to him and he gets a chance to speak to them. I am sure it is going to be a brutal day. Sam shared that her letter says how even though this is the end of this part for him, she needs to restart again knowing that she still won't have her brother and justice doesn't feel like it was done.
Sue (Sam's mom) has been working her butt of with a state legistalor to create a new law that will have some teeth for people who kill someone while driving on a probationary licence. In NJ, you get a probationary licence until you are 21 which has certain restrictions, like how many other underage passengers you can have.
Sue is a bad ass. I don't know how she does it and I admire her strength. I hope I never need that level of steel, but I can only hope I have a fraction of it if I do.

So yeah-- any good thoughts to them will be awesome. TY!

I have to get going, I need to be at work at 8 and need to waterproof myself somehow :D

xoxoxo

We have been on the road a month already--time is flying by. Overcast and drizzly here all yesterday. I'm not used to 3 gloomy days in a row.
A month already!? Wow!
Same same same about the weather. I am much more used to it than a sunny Floridian but the June weather has been pretty darn yucky. Last spring was the same and then it stayed hot and dry most of autumn. Hopefully, the water tables are at good levels.
What an awesome concept of Harvest Host! That sounds like a win-win to me. Plus being at the marina, Boat Lady is gonna be in her glory! ♥
Yay for being at your DS's!! Have a fantastic visit with the family. So happy for you! :dancingbfly:
how old is it and what is their lifespan?
Mouse is 1 year and 9 months. They live to 2- 2.5 years so she is an adult but still not quite a senior. Most of Caitlyn's rats live well over 2 years old, one died the day after she turned 3 1/2!! She only had one that died before 2 yo and that was due to a very sudden, severe respiratory infection.
They are literally the best pets other than their lifespan.
daughters and mothers are a special ---you sound like me and my daughter!!!!
It is a wonderful thing, isn't it! ♥

TY for the heads up about Whisky/kidney issues. Our lab had kidney disease and that concerned me too. I haven't noticed any changes in her drinking and all that so I am 99% sure that it was just a fluke thing.
BTW- I LOVE the name Pirate for your boat dog :lovey3:

Ilene and I are planning to leave around noon! I will keep everyone updated and there will definitely be some pages scrapped!
Have fun and be safe!! ♥
Aww, hate to hear that Mouse is not doing any better! Poor Caitlyn! Made me teary just reading about it! Big hugs to her from all of us! I would add a hug emoji but my stupid smart phone won't let me!
We got the hugs anyway :hug3:
Rainy again today. The soil is so full of water that every time the weather service thinks there may be thunderstorms, they issue a Flood Watch, because there's no where for the water to go.
It's been crazy! I hope this weather pattern heads out soon. Or at least sometime this month :giggle4:

Late last week we decided we'd host a bbq in the backyard this coming Sunday. I hope it doesn't rain but just in case, it gives me an excuse to really clean house this week, which is probably the main reason I decide to do this kind of thing. But, no, it will be fun.
OK-- scratch that I wrote. I hope the weather pattern clears out by Friday so everything has time to dry up for Sunday. I need that kind of a push to do a deep clean here as well. Just remember no one else notices what you do if you miss something.
I love seeing all of the different signs too. I spent way too much time on social media looking at the different feeds.

@AK_Tracy I am with you on the Blah/No Adulting Train.
Hope that today is an easier one. Sending big hugs!

Love and hugs to everyone!

@faerywings I used to have guinea pigs and they have a short life too.
This pic is what I think of the weather here in CT. I took this yesterday when i was visiting the goats the my DIL has. The goat was sticking her lips through the fence looking for treats but this happened instead.

@AK_Tracy I hope today is better for you.. I had to laugh at your needing an Attitude Adjustment---that was the name of our boat. We named out camp trailer Land-A-Tude Adjustment

You are so right Chris.... NJ weather has made me cranky too - it's so dreary, foggy and yucky. And it's endless......
Does not help with mood....
Hang in. Soon it will be 100º. :crying1:

Another quick in and out... Have a couple of guys coming over this morning to give me a quote on pulling weeds, cleaning the yard and spraying 'pre-emergence' weed killer. And the BIG ONE... the kitchen chairs will be delivered this afternoon!!! Whee!!! :claphands: :girldance::dancing6: Of course, I still have to assemble the chairs... :wow2: DD#1 is still here and will help me do that chore! I am still gathering up stuff for the big "Bulk Pickup" by the trash co... Will wait to set up the date until we get everything gathered up. GSon#2 is going to come over and pull the hard drives out of old computers and destroy them. Also have a couple of VHS/DVD players that are kaput!!! The list just seems to grow and grow!!! :floorlaugh:

I did manage to get a couple of LOs done and uploaded yesterday. Starting to winnow away at the monthly challenges.

@BoatLady - DH and I visited Mystic and took photos of us at the boatyard many years ago. Such a delightful place to visit.

@faerywings Sorry about all the rain and colder weather today and you leading a HS session by the creek!!! We are more than ready for some cooler weather here... been over 100*F the past 3 days with a couple more days to go before it drops back into the 90*F. DD#1 keeps saying she must have brought the hot Phoenix weather with her!!!

I hear her stirring so need to close this out. HAGD

Back from my annual physical. It was the year for my tetanus booster -- I always do them in the years I have a decade change so I remember -- but apparently it won't be 10 years until November. Doctor gave me one anyway, but the nurse was complaining he'd have to figure out how to override when he puts it into the system. Well, boo hoo, figure it out, already! Seems like every time I go there's less and less "hands on" involved in an annual physical. I didn't even have to take my blouse off for today. But they keep saying I'm healthy so I guess it works.

We got on Zoom with our granddaughters yesterday, as they had a half day of school so were with their aunt in the afternoon. So I got their impression of what mom & dad are looking at for remodeling the guest bedroom. The kids resented that they had to be dragged around to the plumbing supply and the Home Depot to look at "boring stuff" so I'm not sure I'm getting the real story, but they are funny to listen to. But I did get confirmation that there will be radiant heat in the floor, which will be so nice since their downstairs level is always so cold, even in the summer. The kids will be here starting next week for a couple weeks of "grandma & grandpa summer camp".

Another rainy day here, too. I fertilized all my potted plants a couple days ago but I wonder if it all just washes out with the rain. I guess I can do them again next week. I love our summer flowers, and the grass will stay green for a while with this weather. Now if we could just do something about the mosquitoes....

I will certainly keep the family in my prayers today. What an awful time to have to go through. I can't imagine.

Good morning!

Well, that's cause the fridge was a huge project. If its at all like mine anyway. Never can figure out how it gets so messy and how things hide so that they can mold.

Oh this is going to be so hard for them. :heartpumppink: So many lives changed and ruined.

I love that you. named your boat that and I love the trailer name!!! So much fun. Hubs tells me all the time, well not all the time but its a joke so he means it funny, but he will tell me I need an attitude adjustment. Or I will tell him. I need a vacation and attitude adjustment. Things are better so far today.

Ummmmmmm yeah no. I would take weather you have now cause 100° would make me cranky.
the kitchen chairs will be delivered this afternoon!!! Whee!!! :claphands:
Yeah for new chairs!!!!!! Will be nice to have them and not cracked leather.
The kids will be here starting next week for a couple weeks of "grandma & grandpa summer camp".
This sounds fun! I love that they get to spend time with you like that. So precious.

Todays raining. Its over cast and feels gloomy in the house. My excitement yesterday was buying new kitchen trash cans. The others were smelling even when I washed them. Its crazy how the plastic takes on the smell even though its always in a bag. Yep that was my excitement. Todays about the same. I bought the kit Eye Catching and I love the eyes but I have no idea yet what I am going to do with it. It was an impulse buy and I keep looking at the fun eyes but what in the world will I do with it? I can wait for the challenge or AJ theme that sparks the "eyes". It will be fun to see what happens. Time for more coffee and bible reading. Have a wonderful day Ladies!
