CHEERY O
hellooO! Good morning to you all.

Today is the day! *fingers crossed!* I am off to the orthopedist this morning and hope that I am cleared to resume my normal activities. Pleasepleaseplease. I got a text from the office first thing yesterday morning that I needed to call to reschedule my appointment. I was trying not to flip out. The options were to go in today, but at a farther office or wait until next Friday. Damn straight I took the farther away office.

I was busy all day yesterday and didn't get everything done that I wanted to. But I completed the Merit Badge Training - at least I think I did. I got the certificate for the one section. The second part says that it's completed, but no other certification came through. The Newsletter article on the Toad book is almost done. I started the craft, and will finish that this afternoon, snap some pictures, and send that to the director.

I saw some more hummingbirds! They haven't gone to the new feeder that I can tell, but there were several sightings at the old one.

Other than seeing the doctor, I have to get myself and the gift ready for the bridal shower tomorrow. Caitlyn and I got Jen each of the nightstands that she had on her registry. It's going to be fun trying to wrap them. /s I'll probably ask Gary to help.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Friday!

@vickyday I need to work on the AJ Week 2 page soon. I have some ideas in my head, just need to find the time to sit and let it flow.
Hope you got all of the devotional work done that you had to.

@BoatLady Oooh, never thought of putting a Christmas bow near the feeder. I usually get some pink and red impatiens to put in the bucket by my front door and morning glories that run up the gutters. Nothing yet so far this year, so the bow is a great idea.

Vicky-- I tried one of the packets of nectar that came with the first feeder, and no one came to it. And like Debby said, the red dyes can be harmful.

@AK_Tracy Darn house getting in the way of your rainbow photos. I still am in awe that you get to see moose in your yard. Mama and twins must be quite the sight. I don't think I would want to be outside and get too close to those babies, though. Nope!!

@taxed4ever Even if you do step down from the O, please still come and visit with us here. You can't leave altogether!
Smart of you to get updated vaccines. My ILs went to Disney with my BIL and family. They came back very sick and haven't gotten any better in a week. It's not Covid or strep but something respiratory, still waiting on test results. The more you can protect yourself now, hopefully the better chances of not picking anything up!
keep saying that it might be time to leave, but I just don't think that I can and my Gary is getting sick of me saying that maybe its time to go. He knows how much I love everyone here!!
Your Gary is right.
There. I said it.
You can't leave. And I won't let you. :giggle4:
I am doing mostly container gardening and I have a planter box for the tomatoes. I wish I had more room/full sun/decent soil in my yard.
bears just kind of watched us as we passed by like they were saying WTH are you all making so much noise for?? :giggle4:.
:floorlaugh:
We always get the kids ask us about bears on the field trips and we always say that we carry bear horns but the bears don't like lots of noise so they stay clear of us. The kids (usually!!) laugh at that.
And DD#1 called to let me know that DD#3 is going to pick her up at the airport tomorrow.. and take her to run several errands on their way to my house. Then they will both come to stay at my house. DD#3 is going to help DD#1 do some work at her son's house.
Have a wonderful time with your girls!! ♥
Congrats on finishing your VHS decluttering!

@Terri M Welcome back! You must be exhausted after the trip, but it sounds wonderful!
LOL-ing at the eggs! That is something that I would do

Debby- your planning and prep seem to be on track!
It has to be nerve-wracking thinking about the hurricanes but it's one of those "it is what it is" things, I guess? You can only do so much and controlling the weather isn't one of them. :/

Morning, gals... I have been in a bad mood since yesterday afternoon... my landline phone is not working AGAIN!!! This is the 2nd time it has quit in 2 weeks. :rollingpin1: It is through my internet provider. I called them again and they tried to get it working (like they did the last time) but it didn't work this time. The earliest they could get a tech here is tomorrow afternoon!!! Thank goodness I have my cell phone (not through the same provider). I had to let the DDs know to call me on the cellphone - as I don't normally use it. Beginning to think it might be a problem with the telephone wiring as the internet is working fine, thank goodness.

I took the time (after being on the phone with techs) to go ahead and get the "new to me" DVDs put into the bookcase. It involved sitting on the floor and moving a bunch of them around on the shelves so I could get them in the right alphabetical order. I had space in the bookcase since I moved the series ones from there into the family room cabinet. Glad to have that chore finished.

I remembered to get the enchilada sauce out of the freezer yesterday. Just need to make the guacamole and chop up the lettuce and tomatoes for supper tonight. Will be nice having the DDs here for a few days.

@faerywings sending good wishes that the doc will say you can go back to a normal routine....

No red eyes in the nectar. Honestly it looks like I paid an exorbitant amount for a bag of sugar!

Oh no! You very well could be right about the phone being the problem.
Have fun with your Dad's!

Good morning,
Not feeling great today and had a rough night. Felt like I was running a fever most of the night and sick to my stomach. Our pastor was not feeling great on Wednesday along with his granddaughter so may have picked up a bug from them. Dealing with a headache today.

Fortunately, Chris, I got the devotional for tomorrow done. Not sure I'm up to working on the widows' devo today. Hopefully the bug is a 24 hour deal and I will feel better as the day goes on. We shall see.

Termite inspection taking place in about half an hour.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Happy :friday: Not that it’s a special day or anything like that. I am happy to know what day it is, as everyday seems like Saturday now. I ended up not getting my Covid shot yesterday as they did not have the Pfzier one and the last time I had the Moderna shot DH and I felt horrible the next day. My Gary decided to have his shot and is feeling like crap today with a very sore arm!! I am glad that I opted out and they are ordering in the Pfizer one for me to have next week. I finally got a layout finished yesterday and will get that posted to the gallery sometime this morning. I have to go shopping for a few things and might go look for a new top to wear for the Memorial Service we are going to on Sunday. Other than that I have to finish a card for MIL. The sun has decided not to show up this morning and it is a bit cooler out there today. SIL Linda is coming by later today to look at my old golf clubs, she has taken up the sport and is taking lessons, I told her she could use my old clubs until she decides if she enjoys the sport or not. It is nice that she is getting out and keeping busy!

Keeping my fingers crossed that you will be back to normal activity mode!! I would have chosen the further away appt too! You need to be back to normal with all the great activities you have planned with work! We had on person on our hike with a bear horn and she kept blowing it over and over again, we were all telling her to stop, it was so annoying and it was just pissing the bears off .

That is so annoying to have your land line not working again!! Hopefully it’s not too much of a job for them to fix it, but thank goodness you have your cell phone! I often wonder if we should give up our land line and just use the cell phone, but my Gary doesn’t own a cell phone so that isn’t going to happen until I convince him to get his own cell phone.

I am sorry that you have picked up some kind of a bug, seems to be lots of things going around these days! Please take good care of you!! Hopefully the headache passes quickly!

I am off the shower:showering:Then making keto pancakes for my DH for his breakfast, before he heads out to stain the other side of the fence. Have a great day everyone! :waving1

Good Morning!!

Today is the day! *fingers crossed!* I am off to the orthopedist this morning and hope that I am cleared to resume my normal activities. Pleasepleaseplease.
You're four hours ahead of me so I am waiting!! you should know something by now! What did he say????? Are you released???? I hope you are totally healed and allowed to go back to normal activities.
I have to get myself and the gift ready for the bridal shower tomorrow. Caitlyn and I got Jen each of the nightstands that she had on her registry. It's going to be fun trying to wrap them.
:floorlaugh: I want photos of how you managed to wrap them. That should be fun.
@AK_Tracy Darn house getting in the way of your rainbow photos. I still am in awe that you get to see moose in your yard. Mama and twins must be quite the sight. I don't think I would want to be outside and get too close to those babies, though. Nope!!
Yeah, all my moose photos are either off the security camera feed or from behind glass. I dont go outside. They are BIG and can be super vicious. They might have spindley looking legs but they're deadly. I did giggle and thought ooooohhhhhh Uber Moose in training. Maybe they'll get Chris on time now!

Oh Kay how frustrating. Especially if you depend on the landline for your calls. I miss the landline. It was harder for people to get ahold of me and I miss that. Cell phone means they can get me anytime. Well, except I have learned to turn it off and tell people sorry its my day off. I hope they're able to fix your phone line.
Not feeling great today and had a rough night. Felt like I was running a fever most of the night and sick to my stomach.
I hope you feel better and its just a 24 hour thing. Ask the pastor if his was 24 hours :giggle4: Then you'll know how tomorrow will be. Nothing worse than tummy bugs. I'll take a two week cold over a 24 hour tummy bug.
Not that it’s a special day or anything like that. I am happy to know what day it is, as everyday seems like Saturday now.
Yep, officially retired. Never knowing what day it is. Its a good feeling, until you miss an appointment cause you thought it was Saturday.

The sun showed up late yesterday so after dinner I got to sit outside for 20 minutes before it went past the house and I was in shade. It was a nice moment. The birds are so LOUD and they sing all night long. Or so it seems. They dont stop until the sun goes down which isn't very early. We're up to 17 hours daylight and I love it. Its harder to sleep as the light tries to get in the bedroom but I'll take it. I worked on my recipe pages yesterday, re-doing the 15 I had done. I was making them all colorful and cluttered and thought no it looks tacky as heck. So I re did them with a cream background, simple photo or food embellishment and kept them more crisp and clean. They look much better. I really like the cookbook template I found in the store too and that helped get them more alike. Just about 100 more to go but those are digital yet so I will be scanning and saving so I can put them in the templates. Its much faster with the clean look. Maybe I can finish it this year. Putting all the family favorites in a book and photos of everyone enjoying them or the recipe creator. Its fun yet tedious. Well, need to grab some coffee. Have a wonderful day!

It is a beautiful spring day and I am wishing I hadn't signed up for a nurse shift. I just want to go outside and play! Hope you all have a great day.

Hi Everyone, it's Friday, so that means a half day of work! I've learned to be pretty protective of my Friday afternoons. 1 in 6 weeks I'll schedule a lunch out with a friend or an appt. The remaining 5 are time I get to spend a.l.o.n.e. Today I did some cleaning up of dog pee off multiple carpet spots, ran the dogs outside for a little while, and now there is an hour of peace and quiet before everyone starts coming home. Leftovers for dinner, so no stress there! Tomorrow there is a Pottery Fair in town, so Belle and I are going to that. I've never been, and am looking forward to that!

@faerywings any news yet? I hope you get a full release and can go back to normal activity!
@AKTracy 17 hours of sunlight sounds really cool! Seeing a rainbow at night is a new concept too!
@BrightEyes I hope you can get that phone line fixed! How frustrating that must be!
@BoatLady how soon do you leave on your trip?

Have a great rest of your day everyone!

Must've been a 24 hour deal as I'm feeling better now except for the headache.

The day after we got home from our long trip out west (a day late as weather got us stuck at Dulles airport overnight) we went to the nursery for our annual big-budget spend for plants. This time we got a few new shrubs so it was even more expensive than usual. So we spent most of yesterday weeding and planting, and my legs are letting me know that this isn't bike riding!

My daughter is scheduled for an appendectomy next Friday; a cyst was found during her colonoscopy. My sister-in-law, who lives a couple blocks away from her, called me today with a litany of potential disasters and negatives. Personally, since the cyst almost certainly benign and we're talking an outpatient procedure with recovery in a week, I don't see any reason to catastrophize but apparently that means I don't care enough to be prepared. Family, arghhh!

Looks like a lovely weekend coming up, we got rain last night and a heavy thundershower today, although it's pleasant and sunny again now, so I'm looking forward to enjoying the beautiful late spring weather. It will be Virginia hot before you know it.

I'm with you Terri. No need to be dramatic and worse case. The doctors know what they're doing and if its out patient they're not too concerned and thats good. Hope her recovery is quick and painless.
