Windows 11 Update: Do I want to do it??

I have the notification that I can upgrade to Windows 11. It keeps looking at me, enticing me to click the button. But I don't typically like Windows updates/upgrades. At least I don't like how they mess up my computer.
Have any of you updated Windows? Have you had any trouble running older software? I am mostly concerned with Photoshop since I am using CS5.
But darn it, Windows Settings makes it sound like Win 11 is gonna be lit!

What to do??

Danger Will Robinson! Danger! If you use the folder previews to help you find photos or digiscrapping stuff don't move to Windows 11. They have removed the folder previews. They are back in a beta release but it hasn't been moved to the release version.

ETA: David is using the beta version. He's not having any problems with it but has been completely underwhelmed.

thanks for the update. I just know from other upgrades it usually is a mess. Maybe I will keep waiting.

That is at least some good news!

Windows has been trying to get me to upgrade to 11 for a while now but luckily my (older) laptop doesn't have the minimum system requirements. So I'm feeling lucky that I don't have to decide just yet, lol.

I switched to Windows 11 and had problems at the beginning. Now everything works fine.

I was forced to move when I upgraded my computer. I don’t like the folder things but I got used to it. They moved things around so you have to learn a new way of finding things but overall I just shrug my shoulders and move on..

I want no part of 11! My laptop upgraded on it's own and I hated it! I've heard this from others - all of my files were blank on the front (think the way a zipped file looks without the zipper). I guess there's a work around, but I went back to 10. Here's the rub, they'll still try to update you to 11 (once it updates initially) and I've done a ton of research and you can't stop it. You CAN, however, postpone it by going into DOS - but the "stop" only lasts so many days. I'm recalling it's something like 15 to 20 days. (Right off the top of my head) I have it on my calendar to do the "fix" before it expires.

But, that's just me - I'm not trying to tell you what to do or not do. There's an awful lot of unhappy people about the update - they need to be fixing a lot of things before I'll go with it. I read that still in BETA - that could be the problem.

I had to upgrade my computer in April, which came with Windows 11. Oh Lord, I hated W11, and still do, although I have learned to work with it. Not only are there no folder previews, but you can't drag and drop either. For instance, I used to drag a photo from a file down to the PS icon on the taskbar and drop it in. Can no longer do that. Everything in Windows 11 seems to take longer. They say it has improved overall performance, but I haven't found that to be true in my case.

I see no reason to upgrade a computer from Windows 10 to 11. My laptop (a little Surface Pro and my main computer) has long been told it could upgrade and yesterday it got a message that the upgrade was ready. I declined! I have no intention of upgrading because 10 is working just fine and I expect it will until I need a new laptop. OTH we got a new desktop with Windows 11 and that is OK (especially as I don't use it for much).

I'm sorry to hear that you still don't like it, Betty Jo. I remember how you disliked it and were trying to get it changed somehow. :(

Thanks, Cheryl. If I had had a choice, I definitely would not have W11. I'm getting more used to it, and I suppose at some point using it will become easier. ♥
