What Do You Do With The Physical Photos You Scan?

I have been scanning old family photos into digital form. My idea was to A. preserve them and B. clear up boxes of the clutter of old photos. Now that I have a bunch of photos scanned, I'm having a hard time deciding what to do with the photos. Do people really throw them away?? I thought I could, but I can't seem to do so. I have a 66qt Rubbermaid container full of photos that I have scanned but B is not happening. What do you do with the photos after you scan them?

I don't throw them away. I am planning to send some of them to other people in the family. Some of them, I probably will throw away...some of my nature photos from the years, some of Mom and Dad's work photos over the years. But some of them I will keep and pass on to someone else whose job it will be to figure out the problem. ;)

That's a good idea. There are TONS of nature pics that don't really have to be saved.

I was good about putting photos into albums before I started digital scrapbooking, so there they'll stay. I wasn't a huge photographer when using film, so I actually have more digital photos than film ones.

I would pass them down to kids or grandkids so they can have a copy of those photos. I wouldn't throw them away. My parents' albums got thrown away after they died and I barely have any childhood photos. It really makes me sad. My in-laws divided up photos among their kids before they died. I thought that was a great idea.

I agree...any photos of family will be kept.

You all remind me that it’s ok that I don’t want to throw them away! My uncle did that with my grandparents stuff and I’m still mad 30 years later. I can’t even think of doing what he did.
