So… I’ve been MIA for a while. Turns out, a transcontinental relocation — complete with no table or chairs to sit on — will do that to you. Not exactly a recipe for creativity. Who knew? I missed scrapbooking, of course, but honestly, I also felt void of creativity, even of the desire to be creative. My brain was just too busy trying to rewire itself for a new life and there wasn’t much room left for papers and clusters.

But here’s the funny part: the very day our container finally showed up — furniture, clothes, all the “oh right, we actually own this stuff” kind of things — I suddenly felt my creative spark return. Apparently, creativity likes chairs. And chaos. And, as if the universe had a sense of humor, it all happened on our 21st wedding anniversary. A reminder of roots and continuity in the middle of change. Talk about good timing - the very reason I scrapbook in the first place.

Naturally, when I finally sat down to create again, the first thing I ran into was... yeah... the age-old problem: my photo colors did not match the kits I wanted to use. Classic. So, I’ve decided on a new motto for this chapter of life: when in doubt, black-and-white it out. Problem solved, motto found, scrapbooker happy.

And honestly, that’s what scrapbooking is all about, isn’t it? Adapting. Life doesn’t always match the “kit” we had in mind, so we find a way to make it work — sometimes with a filter, sometimes with a new perspective.

What’s your go-to trick when your photos just don’t match your supplies?

And here's the page - you can read the journaling in the gallery. Thank you for being here!
