Hello aArtists!

It’s time for another challenge from Anna Aspnes. The AnnaTeam selects one creative page from the Anna gallery as the weekly ‘AnnaLift.’ Be inspired, create your own ‘AnnaLift,’ upload your page to the Anna gallery and include it here in this forum thread. Upload your page by Friday 7.14.17 by 8:00 pm EST with the title, ‘AnnaLift. ’ One lucky participant will be randomly selected to win a $5.00 GiftKard to Anna’s shop.

HOW IT WORKS: Each Saturday the AnnaTeam posts one creative page from the Anna gallery as the weekly ‘AnnaLift.’ Check out the inspiration page and decide what speaks to you. Is it the design, the color, the wordART, or maybe the photo? Then enjoy artfully playing—there is no right or wrong way to ArtPlay.

Choose ONE idea to lift or choose it ALL and lift it completely. Be inspired, create your ‘AnnaLift’ and then upload your page to the Anna gallery, plus include it here in this forum thread. It would be great if you could link back to your page in the gallery too!

Anna’s products mix well with so many kits/designers and Anna welcomes you to include these with your Anna Products on your AnnaLift page.

THIS WEEK WE ARE LIFTING: Cool by timounette



Cool in more ways than one aptly describes this week’s lift. It’s cool color theme of blue and white along with its subtle suggestion of water makes this layout extra refreshing with just a hint of summer. The black and white center photo adds a muted contrast to the decorative designs beneath it while the shell and blocks of letters help anchor it to the page. Square blocks of patterned, complimentary colors create a strong visual tension that defines the relationship between the papers and the photo—essentially drawing you into the layout. The large white border provides the perfect soothing balance to bright splashes of color. Designing a clean “white space” layout filled with big blocks of colors is just one of the many creative tricks that this talented artist has in her artistic repertoire. Her splashy, summertime art is beyond cool.

IDEAS TO INSPIRE: Use ONE or MORE of the following in your AnnaLift layout.
• Use a black and white photo as your focal art and include a title.
• Frame your focal art in an unusual way or use a variety of frames to add interest and dimension.
• Try a refreshing, cool color palette, like white with splashes of blue.
• Incorporate an assortment of complimentary background papers into your design or use ArtsyKardz instead.
• Add fastening elements to anchor your photo(s) to the layout.
• Leave a extra-large border around your central art.

Oh what a fun layout to lift...quite a change from artsy blending! Can't wait to have a go at it. Do you have a link to the original? I'd love to know the name of the font she used for the title.
