It’s Saturday—time for another challenge from Anna Aspnes. The AnnaTeam selects one creative page from the Anna gallery as the weekly ‘AnnaLift.’ Be inspired, create your own ‘AnnaLift,’ upload your page to the Anna gallery and include it here in this forum thread. Upload your page by Friday 4.14.17 by 5:00 pm EST with the title, ‘AnnaLift. ’ One lucky participant will be randomly selected to win a $5.00 GiftKard to Anna’s shop.

HOW IT WORKS: Each Saturday the AnnaTeam posts one creative page from the Anna gallery as the weekly ‘AnnaLift.’ Check out the inspiration page and decide what speaks to you. Is it the design, the color, the wordART, or maybe the photo? Then enjoy artfully playing—there is no right or wrong way to ArtPlay.

Choose ONE idea to lift or choose it ALL and lift it completely. Be inspired, create your ‘AnnaLift’ and then upload your page to the Anna gallery, plus include it here in this forum thread. It would be great if you could link back to your page in the gallery too!

Anna’s products mix well with so many kits/designers and Anna welcomes you to include these with your Anna Products on your AnnaLift page.

THIS WEEK WE ARE LIFTING: My Pretty Peonies by Dady



This fresh floral design is both bold and sweet—the stunning photo contrasts beautifully against the soft pink, textured paper. A layout with its division into thirds gives a modern day look to the more traditional flower photo while the painterly photo treatment contributes to its alluring appeal. The lace edging along the photo adds even more charm to the design and the stitching on the paper enhances the boldness of the photo. This would be the perfect note card to send to your friends wishing them a holiday filled with chocolate bunnies.

IDEAS TO INSPIRE: Use ONE or MORE of the following in your AnnaLift Layout.
• Create a layout that uses the “rule of thirds.” Fill of 2/3 of the page with a striking photo. Fill the remaining 1/3 with a subdued yet complementary paper.
• Add a unique photo treatment to your photo and/or use filters to change its look.
• Use a color palette with bold hues and soft colors that enhance or complement each other.
• Try using a creased, crinkled or stitched artsy paper to add additional interest to your design.
• Embellish your design with sweet accents like lace, crochet or stitching.

I find the rule of thirds a very natural result of placing a large photo spread across two pages. I couldn't quite make myself divide it too obviously, and I had to include at least a couple more photos of these amazing falls.

This is on the North Island of NZ, on the way to Tongoriro.
