Welcome to the NBK Technique Challenge for March 2017!

In this Challenge we are going to focus on blending two images together using Gradients. But first I have included a step by step tutorial to help you use the Gradient function in Photoshop and also two tutorial videos from Jana that you might want to run if you are not sure how to get a good result. I have always found gradients difficult to master as there is a few different ways to use them.

You might be proficient with gradients but it might be interesting to see the various ways to get a good result. Whatever your expertise, I am really looking forward to seeing your pages here for this challenge.

You can win a 4 $ coupon in the Technique Challenge but your layout needs to contain some NBK products. This challenge closes on 26th March Good Luck to All

Here are the links to the tutorials

You can create a JPG of your merged images or create it directly on a background of your choice. Whatever method you choose is okay, just do it. Here is some samples to give you some inspiration

I created this one using Jana's Video Tutorial. You can see by my layers that once you create the gradient you can clip more than one image to the underlying gradient and also, alternate between more than one background below the gradient as long as you save the layered file as a PSD or TIFF

That's great Danesa. I can see you have two separate photos merged with a gradient. Thanks for joining the challenge

Fabulous challenge, Trish! I can't get the link to the PDF tutorial to work though. I keep getting this message:
This page isn't available
The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed.

This is wonderful!! I know so little about gradients. I just thought they were to add different colors to things. Can't wait to watch the videos!! Thanks so much!!!!!!

Cool challenge! I think I should be able to do that... I did the exact same to blend two papers for a background just a few days ago. Only need to find two suitable pictures...

I'm loving all the samples of gradients girls. I hope the tutorials helped and that you keep a copy of the PDF to try it again.

I actually blended 3 photos for this layout. I used a combination of gradients, masks, opacity adjustments and blend modes to get the desired result - which I love! Thanks for the tutorials and inspiration!

Great results from all your efforts in this challenge. I was going to include a bit extra in the PDF about adding a third image with the gradient but thought it might be a bit confusing for those that have never used gradients, but I see that Sharron, Geraldine and Joan have done just that. I hope you all had scrapping fun

Ok, I don't think it should looks on this way, but I followed the instruction and my program makes it with this strange foggy effect, especially on the point of blending.
