Welcome to March 2025 and a fresh new Art Journaling Challenge! This month, we invite you to dive deep into the theme of "Perspective" in your art journal. Perspective is more than just the way we view the world around us—it's how we interpret our experiences, how we make sense of the past, and how we envision our path forward. As you engage with this challenge, we encourage you to explore the concept of perspective from different angles. Whether you decide to shift your viewpoint, expand your understanding, or even question your assumptions, this is your opportunity to create a meaningful reflection on how perspective shapes our lives. We can’t wait to see the unique interpretations you bring to this theme!

How can you explore "Perspective" in your art journal?

  • Reflect on a time when changing your perspective transformed a situation. How did it impact you?
  • Experiment with artistic perspective: play with depth, angles, or contrasting viewpoints in your journal pages.
  • Consider someone else’s perspective—how does seeing the world through another’s eyes change your understanding?
  • Use this as a chance to reframe challenges, embracing new ways of thinking and seeing.

Tips for your creative process:

  • Let go of expectations and allow yourself to create freely.
  • Try using collage, photography, watercolor, or layered textures to symbolize shifting perspectives.
  • Write down thoughts or quotes that resonate with how perspective influences your life.

Here are 10 inspiring quotes about Perspective:

  1. “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” – Wayne Dyer
  2. “We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.” – Anaïs Nin
  3. “A change in perspective is worth 80 IQ points.” – Alan Kay
  4. “Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it.” – Charles R. Swindoll
  5. “Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.” – Marcus Aurelius
  6. “Two men looked out through the same prison bars; one saw mud, the other saw stars.” – Dale Carnegie
  7. “It is not what you look at that matters, it is what you see.” – Henry David Thoreau
  8. “Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change.” – Unknown
  9. “Perspective is everything when you are experiencing the challenges of life.” – Joni Eareckson Tada
  10. “Your perspective will either become your prison or your passport.” – Steven Furtick

Words to Inspire Your Creativity:

Depending on how you interpret perspective, here are some words to help guide your journaling:

Visual & Artistic Perspectives:
  • Angle
  • Depth
  • Dimension
  • Framing
  • Vantage point
Mindset & Emotional Perspectives:
  • Shift
  • Reframe
  • Open-mindedness
  • Growth
  • Insight
Metaphorical Perspectives:
  • Looking glass
  • Window
  • Mirror
  • Kaleidoscope
  • Panorama

Take this theme as an opportunity to see the world differently, embrace new viewpoints, and express your insights creatively.
We can’t wait to see how you bring "Perspective" to life in your art journals!

Here is my double page
(I create double-page spreads because I love how they look together in a printed A4 book. They create a cohesive, immersive experience, making the journal feel more like a story unfolding across the pages. Keeping a consistent style throughout helps tie everything together, making the finished book visually harmonious. Plus, working across two pages gives me more space for journaling, allowing me to dive deeper into my thoughts and reflections)

CREDITS:

You can choose to do a single page/double page/tag/TN each week, or do a divided template - one part for each week. If you don't have the Divided Template and would like to have it, you can get it here at Dropbox. Thank you to Ona @wombat146 for providing the template choices for us! If you do the template, we would love it if you would post it incrementally. Post one done in the first week, post an image of the two together on the second, and three on the third, and then the finished page on the fourth week.

Again - the template is NEVER a requirement to use, just something fun and different if you want to use it.

Everyone who participates in any of this month's challenges will be entered into a drawing for a $5 gift certificate to Oscraps. You can receive up to four entries into this month's drawing.
