I am looking for a quick and easy DIY to make gifts for the family for several birthdays we are celebrating in less than two weeks. (Nothing like waiting to the last minute, Faery!)
Gnomes seem to be the big thing and I thought they should/could be easy enough to personalize. I need to make 4 of them.
I looked quickly on Pinterest but I can't judge from the photos and blogs how "quick and easy" they actually are. Bloggers tend to make everything look incredible and perfect and able to be completed in less than an hour! *wink* Not so much for me when I try.

I can crochet but not knit. Sewing I can try to outsource to my DD. I am wickedly good with a glue gun.
If you have any other suggestions for a DIY gift, please pass them along too!

I've seen a video on Youtube when she made gnomes out of socks. Will try and find it again once I'm home from work.

Chris, I don't know about Gnomes, but if you need quick and incredibly cute amigurumi I highly recommend Delinlea! I'm made the Poinsettia and it was ready for one evening 3-5 hours with having lots of leaf.

Link.

Thank you for the video, Eva. I found something similar but this will help a lot. I have to figure out how I am going to adapt it to what I want and still have them look "giftable"
Caitlyn has scraps of orange fake fur so I am going to make them Halloween-themed. Caitlyn and I ran to the dollar store yesterday and I got some floral foam to use as cone-shaped support, as well as some black fabric mesh for a hat. The one thing I forgot to look for were wooden beads for the noses but I also saw one blogger used Sculpy. I have so much Sculpy and can use green if I want to go with a witchy-gnome style.
But the hardest part is going to be getting the ideas from my head into creation and having them look ok. And seriously, why do I forget about all of this until the last minute? I did the same thing a few years ago, crocheting the pumpkins and hating every minute of it LOL

@felis I googles Delinlea and OMG she has some really cute patterns-- sharing them here for Eva
