Here in the states the big news is that the city of Detroit Michigan has filed for bankruptcy. I stumbled upon this photographic essay of old decaying and abandoned buildings. It is rather haunting and yet the beauty of yesteryear still shines in some of them. So sad that the grandeur cannot be reclaimed.

What a shame that such a beautiful city goes bankrupt, I do not understand how that can happen. But it does produce beautiful photos.

Thanks for the link. The images are haunting, but a little too close to home given how close parts of Cleveland could be/have been? to that.

wow! amazing photography but oh so sad!!! I wonder if some people looking at those photos have been in any of those buildings!

I can imagine so much things to save some of these buildings

Such a real pity to have all this beautiful work from way back wasted. You don't see much architecture like this in the US anymore.... the photographer did an amazing job of showing just how beautiful this place used to be.
