How do you get ready for Christmas?

Good morning. I didn't touch my computer yesterday (U.S. Thanksgiving) and so today when I opened the gallery, I saw all of the fun Christmas layouts!

Today, we are planning to get our inflatables out into the yard and in the pool. Then we will dig out the artificial tree and get it decorated. Perhaps we will even shop for the real tree for the lanai. We also are heading to St. Augustine to show Syd's roommates the Nights of Lights tonight.

What are you doing to get ready for Christmas?

But to be honest: for the first time in years, I really feel like I want to celebrate. Not like hysterical gift giving bonanza, but bringing out some decorations. We've always had Christmas dinner, cuz I love having "smörgåsbord" and to have leftovers for days. Just being calm and enjoy the holiday. So .... so far I've bought me yarn to enjoy as my advent calender, Urban bought a lottery ticket - scratch card, where you scratch one bit every day Dec 1 to Dec 24, and we're planning to win 500.000 SEK (US$48.000). LOL

And I've started to plan the food. Probably shared this link before, but here's the info on Swedish Christmas dinner: https://www.swedishfood.com/julbord Of course, I do vegetarian versions. John doesn't want much, he's easy to cook for. Much of it can be prepared in advance and put in the freezer.

Oh, and I need to make Knäck: https://ingmar.app/blog/recipe-knack-swedish-christmas-toffee-caramel/

I am so happy that you feel like celebrating. We are still coming off our Thanksgiving feast...and eating lots and lots of leftovers. But in a week or so, I'll start thinking about Christmas dinner! And the Knack looks delicious!

I am done decorating (very minimal) and got the tree up. Shopping is done. So all I need to do now is get the turkey and wrap the gifts. This year is simple and easy, no stress.
