Happy International Dog Day!

It is International Dog Day and you all *know* this has to be one of my favorite days. The site here has a really neat timeline of the most important topics- dogs! It starts in 5000 BC. It also has the answers to
survey questions which includes: Why do you love your dog?(because they are paw-some DUH!! LOL)

This site has ideas on how you can celebrate with your dog. As if any dog parent doesn't spoil their dogs as it is.

To celebrate the Dogs of Oscraps, drop a photo of your pup or a friend/family member's dog if you want to "adopt" one virtually. I will make sure that I send each and every doggo some belly rubs and treats through my screen.

This is Ray- she passed away last March
And the second one is my *baby*- she has been gone a long time but I miss her something fierce to this day

Awwwww Happy International Dog Day! Every day is "Dog Day" around here. What sweet pictures and I love their names! I'll post a picture in a minute.

This is one of my favorite pictures and shows how much our dogs love us. In the chair: Ava, Asher and Alyssa. Daisy is standing on top of all of them. Hahaha We only needed one chair.

Daisy makes me laugh so much, @Cherylndesigns ! Isn't it funny how all dogs think they are "lap" dogs?

@zanthia I can't wait!! How long have you had her now, it was before the pandemic started right? (I am sorry, time has literally no meaning anymore- it is all a blur!)

This is Lyta (doberman mix) and Londo (rotweiller mix) bothe from the shelters. Lyta came from a kill shelter and I felt bad because she was so timid (known for her breed). She is still afraid of storms and fireworks and sudden loud noises but has become a loving girl. Londo is a wrecking ball! Sweet but tends to get excited and be a snapping turtle as we call him! His name in the shelter was skittles because he was all over the place. He still is when he gets excited!

Love all those dog photos. I forgot to mention that the Malinois was called Wolf (2001-2016) and the black " vuilnisbakkie/ ashtray (like we call hybrid dogs in the Netherlands) with a hit of border collie/ labrador was called Punk (2003-2014)

@zanthia I miss her on your pages..

I can't believe I missed this yesterday. You know I have to show off my two. Inuyasha is the white dog. The brown dog is Ishka. They were both adopted from our local humane society. On Sept. 11 (the date is not an error) Inuyasha will have been with us three years. Ishka will have been with us 2.5 years in late September. We love them so very much.

@tanteva Those eyes are either the eyes of a soul that spent nine months at the humane society before being adopted or the eyes of soul trying to get a treat from her daddy. :)

Aren't they beauties?<3 Skittles is a funny name. Do Lyta and Londa's names mean something? They look like they get along well!

Jaida is terrified of her own shadow- in addition to the typical dg fears. My vet suggested I try the Adaptil collar, which is pheromone-based. It doesn't make her anxiety and fear go away but it does seem to tale the edge off.

They are so sweet! I bet you miss them both. All I can say is I know I am counting on the Rainbow Bridge to be a real place. xo

I loooove them!! They are such gorgeous babies!! Ishka looks like she is a bit of a troublemaker. :D
Sept 7 we will have had W for 4 years! Times flies!

and since chris posted a pic of furbabies who are in heaven i have to post one of cooper who in october will be gone 4 years, i still miss him so much

this photo was taken one week before he died - thats how sudden every thing happened with him

I am sooooo happy that you included Cooper. It will be 10 years in a few weeks since we had to euthanize Harley and OMG, I still reach out to touch her face in photos and my heart breaks a bit each time. I understand completely how you feel. He was such a sweet boy. xo

Ray was lab mix but you can see she had a lot of lab in her, Her ears were very soft but the rest of her fur had that oily feel to it. Always made me laugh because she *hated* water- swimming, baths, rain, all of it ;)
