Free Kindle Books?

Chris (and others) -

My child has recently decided that my Kindle Paperwhite is immensely important to him. He wants to read on it just about any chance he can get. He told me that when he grows up he is going to save money for a house and then if there is some left over, get a Kindle. He asked me if he could have my Kindle when I die. LOL Kids say the darndest things.

Apparently, the school-age group at "day-care" (he protests to that name now that he's older) can bring eReaders with them for their reading times. He desperately wants to take my Kindle. I'm trying to find free books that he can read on it. In that beginning chapter book area. I looked at Amazon's list of top 100 kids book that are free....they are HORRIBLE! One was a penguin who barges into a guy's house and pees everywhere. On his foot, in his hat, in his shed...ugh.

I know you guys come across those free Paleo books all the time...where do you guys find those? Are there kids books ones too? Help. :)

There's no place like hOme!
Does your library offer any ebook lending Sara? I borrow a lot that way for my daughter to read on her ipod Touch. Our library used to only offer epubs and pdfs, but recently I've noticed they have been expanding to offer many titles in Kindle format too.

Oh yes...we are grabbing lots from the library. They just expire in a week though. I was hoping to find some good quality ones for free that he can have forever and go back to. I will check out those lists Marie!

Sara if you're using Overdrive, check the settings. Using Overdrive with our library you can change the default checkout for up to 3 weeks!

Oh Vicki-- that is a good tip, I will try that too. One thing I have disliked about the library and Overdrive it the wait times (I am always in the middle of a different book when my book on Hold comes up) and that they expire so fast. I'll have to check that option out.

Sara, BookBub.com is another one to try.
