Foxes

Today I went with a friend to a park in the Netherlands. We went there looking for foxes. These foxes are not afraid of the people, quite simply they find it normal that people walk around there. They even come begging for food (the people feeding them with dog biscuits) they just eat out of your hand! 7 foxes we have seen, I'm tired after a whole day walking around, but super happy with my pictures. Here a preview.

AMAZING photos, Vera, but you can keep your foxes, we have quite enough of them here in London. They show no fear and will happily saunter down the street, usually at night, but sometimes in the day time also.

I have a good antidote to urban foxes though - two Jack Russell/Springer Spaniel cross dogs. They put up about one fox a day on our walks - and we live in the middle of London! They've never caught one, mind.

Yes true Selena, they show no fear. But i was photographed by my friend sitting next to a fox. I will show it later. But the remain wild animals, although these have grown up between the people, i still was a little afraid.

Wonderful photos, Veer!

I've lived in the Australian bush all my life and have only seen them as a streak of red across a road first light in the morning when they go hunting. They are so quick - can almost fly! And they jump quite high too - 2 metres they say! Have a reputation here for being very cruel. Kill poultry.

Can't imagine them living in London although we have native animals living in our cities also.

Nature is so amazing isn't it. Enjoyed seeing these close-ups of them, Veer !

amazing shots Vera!
and yes, they remain wild, and we have to keep in mind that point.

I haven't seen "red" foxes for a while now, but we see Arctic foxes once or twice a year... these are really wild and afraid of human.. believe me, we have tried to photograph them more than often and barely have a shot of them. (and if we managed that a few time, they are nothing compare to yours!!

beautiful shots and beautiful creatures but such a pest , I'm afraid they are not much loved over here , specially after one of them killed another group of 20 chickens. (we shoot them when we have a chance)

I do have old pictures taken in daylight where one had grabbed a chicken and just stood there laughing at us as if to say catch me if you can...
you can see them walking through Glasgow as well early in the day.. There are too many, not enough food so they go looking for it elsewhere

lOve the O!
Oh Vera your pictures are beautiful- I always loved the beauty of a fox, until a rabid one tried to attack our cat and the fox was shot and we had to wait to find out if it did indeed have rabies- foxes have never been enjoyed by me again.

oh wow, Vera, the photos are just amazing and how beautiful they are!!
I have some photos of my kids feeding some deer that came to about 5 feet away from them.

Are there laws where you are about feeding wild animals? In my town, we are not allowed to feed the bears that are plentiful in the woods. If you do, you get a really big fine.

Well actually Chris there is a sign that you should not feed animals. But everyone ignores that, and when the ranger comes, he says nothing.

always chatty at the O!!
That is so cool. In Washington I don't know if we have any...if we do they hide a bit. Here in North Carolina I see them a lot but always running somewhere as a flash of red. Those pics are fantastic. I can never decide how I feel about them...I imagine them sweet and cuddly because of The Fox & The Hound...but they are wild animals.
