Food for a Luau Themed "Party"

One of the (only) good things of being in quarantine has been my family's resurrection of theme nights. I did these when they were kids- picked a theme, made food and decorations based on the there and watched a movie together. At the very beginning of our lockdown, my "kids" decided that we needed to do them again but with a 21+ component.

Last week we had Halloween Night and we made spooky food, and drinks (Melted Witch: witch vodka, pineapple and orange juices and blue curacao so it was green)

This week is Luau Theme and we have the drink part covered- we have coconut rum and pina colada mix.

But we are stuck on food ideas. What would be a on a menu for a luau?

Trudy- you know me too well! I am thinking of chicken and pineapple kababs for everyone other than Cait who can just eat the pineapple.

OMG! Vicki-- you are cracking me up-- :pound:

Yes, our own (crazy) take on a Hawaiian party :)
We are going to make the kabobs but with chicken. And maybe the pineapple salsa would be good too.
TFS!

Fresh Idea: cut a pineapple in half- take out the pineapple and use it else where. Scoop out the pineapple and put fresh fruit in it and pineapple of course! Use one side for fresh fruit and the other for other food as a container.

I won't be able to get a pineapple in time to do this- but what a neat idea, I have seen it done with watermelon too.
I found a really cute idea to make a cheese "ball" in the shape of a pineapple with pecans pressed into to like the shell? rind? whatever you call the brown, scaly stuff!!

It is the new official family cheer. Instead of resorting to the crass "WTF?/!" options, we now toast each other with "It's a quarantine summer!" Preferably executed with a drink in your hand.

And -- I cannot forget the guest of honor!! (we never put her away after last week's Halloween night, so I got her ready for the luau - although she really didn't need the coconut bra, she has a very bony chest. :pound:

Thanks, my friends! I am working on a LO about this for July.
This week's theme is Dog Appreciation Day so my fur-babies will be in on the action too. --No alcoholic drinks for them, but we will share some pizza crust LOL
