Morning everyone... Chris is on a bit of a break at the shore, so I will get this morning started here. Well almost afternoon for many of you out East! I am still dealing with my cold :mmph: Still a bit stuffy and my ears are plugged, but at least my teeth don't hurt anymore. I spent half the night coughing with a tickle in my throat that just would not stop. So I suppose I will be missing my hike day today. It is supposed to pour rain later on anyway, so I would just have gotten wet and cold. :rain: So I guess it will be a good day to just do some scrapping and some on line shopping. Yesterday I managed to run to Winners to see if they had anything in the way of good storage items for my kitchen. I got a bunch of things from Ikea and got a couple of drawers all nicely organized (Ikea has so many great organizers) but I have a very messy pantry and would like to get it all organized also. Well anyway no luck at Winners, but I did manage to find a great pair of jeans that are so comfy! A bonus too was that they are a smaller size than I purchased last time so I have gone from a size 10 to a size 8 horray!! I would order from Ikea again except that they charge way too much for shipping :mmph: So I will try to buy Canadian products only so that I don't have to pay all the tarif costs (thanks DT!) Anyway if any of you have any good suggestions for organizers for a pantry send them my way!

Chris - I hope that despite the weather you are having a wonderful time at the shore with your Mom!!

Nancy - Has the rain stopped where you are yet? Hope you are able to get Luther out for a walk today. I bet it feels so much better having the pain gone from your knees, sure wish DH would get that done when his pain is bad! When do you leave for Sweden? I wish I could go with you! You will get so many wonderful photos on this trip! Hope that the transferring of the photos to your EHD is going well, its boring, but it will be great when its all done!

Rae - Thanks I will for sure pick your brain about Paleo, I think that perhaps I am at a weight that is good for me. I never really had a goal weight in mind and I have lost more than I ever thought that I could! I seem to be maintaining this weight now, but sometimes I am afraid to add more carbs and fear that the weight will start to climb again. Hope that you are having a good morning and that your work load is not too heavy!

I am sure that Heather will be facetiming with me soon, so nice to see them almost everyday, but man I sure miss all the hugs and cuddles! Ok off to grab a coffee before they call, I hope you all have a wonderfu Wednesday!

good late morning - the weather is cloudy and wow it got so humid. I have had a few errands to do for the trip so have not gotten Luther out yet but am (and Luther too) that my DH takes him for over an hour each morning. My knees did well yesterday so maybe this will work for a while. There are supposed to be some sunshine today but this am it was all fog and it still is fog. My girlfriend South Carolina is right in the path of that hurricane as it abruptly changed directions. She is not in an evacuation area but knows she will lose power with wind and rain but I know her and she is super prepared. This climate warming is causing even bigger hurricanes so scary! Last night was weird as around 11pm my son's friend called and said he had a fight with his mom and needed to stay the night. He is the one that works with my son. The problem with these boys is they need to learn to live on their own but there is nothing cheap enough to allow them to do this. Such a catch 22. They are adults living home and it is not easy. Hockey players for my Devils report for physicals tomorrow and first preseason game is Monday. I am so excited. Got up to Nov 2012 in deleting and backing up. It was a big year as my son got married so I had all those photos, then my girlfriend's daughter got married and she gave me those photos so that was a lot to delete but sure felt good. More today.

Trudy thanks for starting the tread. Your husband has to decide when he cant take the pain and when it curtails his activities. That has been my main motivation to be able to walk farther and to stand and wait in lines with out the pain. My doctor says that anyone past 60 is a great candidate as the knee replacements usually last 20 years and that as you get older you are not as hard on the new knee so it should last even longer. Men can be so stoic that it is hard to know. I know my DH seems to wait too long. Glad your cold is getting better but sometimes they just linger and it is the pits! You don't need to get cold and wet! Glad you got yourself some organizers.

Rae how fun to get a new chest you don't have to refinish. That is so fun and so inexpensive compared to today's furniture and probably even better made. Sounds like good food for B. Last night from Blue Apron they gave us cauliflower rice to substitute for rice in a pork bowl dish. I did not tell the boys and they never even knew. I will tell them tonight and see what they say. It was yummy. Glad you are getting to add some carbs!

Chris hope you get some sun!

Waving to all!
Have a great day!

Good morning, ladies. Got Taz off to daycare, got laundry in and have been checking craigs list for another armoire. I need to get another box of velvet lined hangers today and some bacon for D and turkey bacon for me. We'll have breakfast for dinner tonight. I have ground turkey and beef defrosting and will make up a big batch of spaghetti sauce tonight to freeze and will cook up some venison to portion out and freeze (for Taz). I organized the kitchen freezer this morning with plastic bins so it'll be easier to access bags of food.

I'm ready to get to work now, just need to refill my coffee and get at it.

Trudy - I was worried about switching to paleo too as I had done so well at keto but I've been able to maintain with absolutely no problems, don't count carbs, just choose the right foods and don't overdo it on the fats and proteins. Any questions ask away, happy to help. My daughter went out for dinner with a friend last night who has been doing keto for 3 mths and after hearing her rave about it (and knowing what I've done), she is ready to make a change (she's been gluten free). I convinced her to try paleo as I think that is easier to do and has more food options.

Nancy - glad the knees did well yesterday. Sounds like the photo sorting and backup is going well. You've been busy.

Hope everyone else is well.

I'm getting to work now. Talk later.

I hope Chris is having a great break.
Trudy, enjoy your kitchen/pantry re-organising.
Well done on the backing up Nancy.

life here's been a bit hectic and exhausting with the kids medical needs. I'm hoping to get some more scrapping done soon.
