Morning ladies... I guess Chris is having a much needed little vacation on the shore and so I will open the Chatter thread this morning. It is a beautiful morning with clear blue skies and sunshine, but very cool. I actually had to put on a sweater this morning. I do love the cooler nights for sleeping, but wish we could have summer time temps for the day all year round!! (I don't want much do I?) Yesterday's hike was awesome, a very long hike but not too difficult with a few ups and downs, but stunning views of the river and we sat and had our lunch along the river side. Everyone agreed that this was one of our favourite hikes!! We have done it often, and we never tire of it. Most of the time we do half the hike along the river and then take the trans canada trail back to the parking lot. This time however we did the complete loop around doing the opposite side of the river on the way back, so that was new for me and so beautiful! We stopped at one point and I took my shoes and socks off and dipped my feet in the cool water, it brought my body temp. down again and just was so refreshing!!

Today I will go to the pool and then I have to get some watering done in the backyard. It hasn't had any moisture for a few days and everything is so dry again! We found out last night that we are on a boil water advisory in our area, so we need to get some water boiled for preparing food etc. We have a large water cooler with filtered water that we always use for drinking water, so we are ok that way. Hopefully it doesn't last too long. It is the first time in 12 years that we have ever had this happen. Not sure if it is a equipment failure at the treatment plant or what??

Nancy - Hope you and Luther are enjoying a nice walk this morning and I bet you can't wait to see your Devils in action again!!

Jean - Hope your meetings went well yesterday and I bet you are happy to have working faucets again!! Its the little things isn't it!!

Rae - Girl, you must have a lot of clothes!!! Seems you are always organizing and sorting through your clothes stash LOL I would love to see your closet!! Bet it puts mine to shame!! I don't know how anyone could afford to have more than one animal to care for, the price of food and vet visits is mind blowing isn't it?? I know that you and Taz are very happy together and I bet Taz would be a bit out of sorts if you brought in a new fur baby to love. Your heart is truly in the right place, but oh my the expense alone is staggering!! How nice that Beckham is coming for a visit. You will all enjoy your time at the trailer I am sure! Hope work is not too demanding today and that you get out to enjoy this gorgeous weather!

I received my order from Amazon yesterday of Torani Sugar free syrups that I wanted to put in my coffee in the mornings. I got the Vanilla and the English Toffee, they are so good!! Now I am thinking that I should have gotten the Salted Caramel one also, that would be so yummy for Iced Coffees yum!! So I am off to do some more on line shopping :becky: Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning, ladies. The sun is shining and it is a beautiful morning. Beckham came at 7:45 so I was able to almost finish my book (Night Circus) before he came and I was so close to finishing that once he was settled beside my desk (him on one side and Taz on the other side), I finished the last 30 pages. Now I'm starting the Pearce Brown final book, Morning Star, it's a long one so it'll take me awhile to get it read.

Trudy - yes LOL....I have always had a lot of clothes. I got everything put into the drawers and closets yesterday and am happy to say I have filled up all the dressers (5 of them. Everything was bought used or on sale so the cost is a fraction of what it would have cost new. Sounds like an amazing hike! Can't wait to see pics. Yes, having dogs is expensive but we both agree it is worth it, to have a fur baby in our family. We talked last night and I told D that I would hold off on another dog at this time but that I may change my mind in the future, I'll know if and when it is the right time, if ever. He'll leave it up to me. For coffee flavors, my fave is a mix I make of gingerbread, vanilla bean and salted caramel. Yum! If I come out next month, you should let me know if there are a few flavors you might want to try. The Bellingham store pretty much carries every flavor of Da Vinci and Torani syrups. I'll be going in a few weeks to stock up until I go back on Black Friday wkend. I go thru the peach the quickest b/c I use that multiple times throughout the day for my water and salt drinks.

Nancy and Jean - hope you are both having a great day.

I'd better get to work while the dogs are sleeping, take advantage of the quiet. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Chris - sure hope you are having a wonderful time away!

Yesterday was good. The genealogy group is always fun and the evening meeting may have brought together some really good ideas. To get to the evening one we had to eat dinner really early, so we got some eggs and had an omelet. We almost never have eggs, so it seemed really good.

Wishing Chris a peaceful time at the shore!

Nancy, can you believe the Indians made it to 21! It was a day game, so I had "gameday" on the computer at the gen. group and gave updates as runs scored and a big 21 at the end. Hope you're having a good one.

Trudy, thanks for starting the thread! The hike sounds wonderful. Especially like the image of you cooling off your tootsies. Like Rae, looking forward to pictures. Hope the pool was good today. Thanks about the faucets. I'm still surprised each time I use the one as it is a different type and feels different when turned off. And it looks so nice. As you said, little things can be important.

Rae, sure hope you do visit Trudy so we can vicariously share in the meeting. I'm sure you're right that you'll know if/when time is right for another dog.

Good wishes for all.

I didn't say this before, because I thought it's a obviously, but now I think I should!
Rae, what you do for Beckham is so nice! Like a like a owner who was deal with pet with health problem, I know how much means to have someone who to support you! It's not happen often!! So when you consider new baby you should to comply not only with Taz, but also with your obligation to your friend too. I'm sure that you have it in mind, but had to say it just for echo. Also I was hoping that in some moment you will adopt cat, because looks like you had fun time with Noel :) . Fingers crossed in future to can adopt some new baby no matter cat or dog.

I think part of my consideration in all this is knowing that Beckham will be moving away at the end of this year, so we won't be having him with us after December. His family bought a home up in interior BC and are taking an early retirement. I think they will all be very happy up there but we are sure going to miss him. I would love to have a cat but since we are away most wkends at our place in WA, I don't like the idea of leaving a cat alone for 2-3 days every week for months at a time. But yes...I love cats too.
