Happy Wednesday!

Does anyone know if Mercury is still in Retrograde? I hope that it is and that is will go "forward" again soon. Supposedly, Merc in Retro causes all sorts of havoc on electronics and communications. And boy oh boy! I am still dealing with them. Emails are screwy, browsers are screwy, and don't get me started on another hour+ on the phone trying to get my health ins. application fixed, to no avail.
For whatever reasons, Chrome won't let me put items into shopping carts. I was trying to order supplies for my gift baskets and I had to switch to Firefox. Same thing with Kohls. I was trying to place an order for my mom and it wouldn't go through- had to go back to FF.
Healthcare-- they can find me, and have been trying to email me the link to reset my password, and I am not getting it. They say that they have the right email, and I can get emails from them on the wrong account (although they were supposedly merged...) but nothing from the correct account. Grrrrrrr!

I am also on Tindamax aka abx from Hell this week, and I asked Gary if I should be feeling quite this aggravated when it is only Day three. I don't think that he dared to answer that one. There would be no *right* answer there.
And for the record-- listening to "on hold" music for any length of time is enough to make anyone insane. :boom:

But to end the day, I made an amazing dinner if I do say so myself. Veggie lasagna and homemade bread. To say that this is such a delish meal but so fattening is an understatement. 4 lbs of cheese-- ricotta, mozzarella, cream cheese, parm cheese. But the broccoli and carrots cancel that out, right? ha!!

Today I have to go food shopping. Scott has been not taking his acidophilus and nystatin, and now has a gum infection. He is asking for soft foods since his mouth hurts. But the kid doesn't like many soups. I feel like some days I can't win.

(Oh boy, yes, I think that the tindamax is making me crabby. )

Let me wrap up before I scare everyone off again.

QOTD
Since so many of us are dealing with cold and snow--What is your favorite soup? Or do you have another food that makes you feel warm and cozy?
I love soup and it is one of the few things that I enjoy about non-summer weather. My favorite soup of all time has to be the Lobster Bisque at the Coral Reef in Disney. But since I haven't had that in at least a decade...let me think about the ones I can actually eat.
I love butternut or acorn squash bisque. French onion. The new white bean soup that I just made for the first time 2 weeks ago. My mom's Italian wedding soup. That is just the start, I know there is more!

Hugs!!!!!

I never made it back yesterday, and I am running late again today:(

Phyllis- No worries about agreeing to disagree-- my brother/father/FIL/SIL and all of her family are Republicans and I can have a respectful date with with some, like my dad, others-- we just simply do not bring it up. Politics and religion, yannow :D
FWIW- We went through when Gary was working. Every year, his company would switch ins companies and every year we would have to find new drs. At least this way, I have *some* control over which plan I chose.
Hope you are staying warm!!!

Nancy- did you make it out for a walk? If you did, I am not sure whether I should be proud of you or thinking that you need your head examined LOL
It is so darn cold. And the wind is crazy!

Jean- how much snow have you gotten? I keep hearing that people by the lakes are getting *slammed.* :( I keep telling myself that even though it is freezing, at least no snow.

Hi Trudy! :plane: I am curious about your ad... must go stalk the Ad Team forum hah!!!!

And I am off to warm up my car. Yesterday the latch froze and Cait's door wouldn't stay closed as we were driving down the street to the bus stop. She had to hold it closed. Ack!!!

Chris, hahaaa!! too true. i was once on hold for 40 minutes trying to reach the billing department at the childrens' hospital in DC to find out their billing address!! i hate the music, but what i really hate is when the recording keeps coming on telling them that they know how important my time is. right. BTW. i'm NOT Republican. :becky:

wow. it's not even Thanksgiving, and already i'm sick of winter. i've had enough of 13 degrees to last a lifetime. i was out in it yesterday. wind. freezing temps. well, i guess it could be worse. i could live in SE Buffalo, NY. my poor BFF moved there from West Palm Beach, FL this summer. i told her to hold on to her hat. and to buy some really good boots. and a snow shovel. or three.

what an apt QOTD. i'm in the kitchen making French onion soup at the moment. this kind of weather just screams SOUP!! i also like making and eating wedding soup and my pesto vegetable soup.

another fun time at the car dealership. my daughter's car, (which we own) has been recalled, and we need to go and sit at the dealership this morning. this makes THREE cars we own that i've had to sit with in a dealership for a recall. the GM recall was SO goofy. it entailed them grinding the ignition key so it wouldn't come out of the ignition if you used a keychain. i've driven the thing with a two-ton keychain for 7 years and no probs.

i guess i'm going to start thinking about getting the Christmas decos out of the cubby hole after Thanksgiving. since i am inexplicably FINISHED with making my cards, addressing and stamping them, and getting other mailings ready. i still haven't decided whether i'm going to host the extended Family Christmas Dinner again this year. what do you guys have planned for Christmas dinner?

time to get ready for the trip to the car dealership. :faint2: have a great day! :becky:

Morning ladies... I am so glad that I live on the West Coast!! OMG I can hardly believe the snow that poor Buffalo has gotten and yesterday my DD said it snowed there all day also. I guess there will be lots of money spent on shovels in the coming days!!

We are the opposite from the rest of country today, us and all the Newfie's on the East Coast are enjoying very mild temps.

Chris - Sorry that you are having a bad time with your abx!! Ouch on the sore mouth for your son too!! You are right sitting on the phone and listening to elevator music could just about drive you insane!!!

Your dinner sounds heavenly!! A bit fattening maybe, but heavenly!! :becky:

Phylis - I don't blame you for being sick of winter already, but you are so far ahead of the game with having all of your cards made and gifts bought and sent out overseas!! I am jealous of your organization!! I did manage to get DS's birthday gift purchased the other day and his lovely wife is going in on it with us as it was quite an expensive gift, but something that he has been wanting for many years. He loves to make homemade soups and has never had a decent stock pot so I found a beautiful Paderno one on sale and have it all ready to ship out to him. He will love it!!

QOTD - Yes it is the perfect weather to be making all kinds of lovely soups and my favourite one of all is PastaE Fagiolli Soup and a close second would be Broccoli Cheddar and then French Onion!! OMG now I am so hungry :hungry: Gotta go and get me some breakfast!
Have a great day everyone!!

It is trying to snow again just now. We probably got about 10" Thursday/Friday, but not much since. A friend was to be our Saturday am speaker but she lives well to the east along the lake and had lots more snow and her street wasn't plowed. So she didn't come. Yesterday I watched the radar showing the snow bands east along the lake and shuddered by folks south of Buffalo. Just learned we got down to 10 degrees for about an hour yesterday to tie the Nov. 18 record from 1959. It is just too much cold and snow for this early!!!! Makes me want to curl up in a ball and sleep. Is hibernation possible?

Chris, you have so much going on, don't know how you make it through the days. At least you can say you don't have snow.

Phylis, you are amazing with all the Christmas prep done! Hope the car recall went quickly and painlessly.

Trudy, congrats on your weather! Glad you seem to be feeling a little better. Bet that stock pot will be fabulous.

Hope Nancy is not out freezing on her walk.

QOTD: I don't make soups any more, not sure why. I used to like making lentil or split pea soups. We eat at a restaurant that makes their own soups that are good. My favorite may be a spicy tomato with blue cheese.
