I miss my coffee. So darn much. My head is fuzzy and I am tired and I really want to lick some coffee grinds. Other than that, I am physically ready to go. We are leaving here a little after 10. Check in at 11, surgery is at 1. I should be back home around dinner time.

Yesterday was just another easy rolling day in the Faery House. Yes, that was 100% snark. Part of pre-surgery prep was that I had to put clean sheets on the bed/clean towels/clean pajamas etc. I stripped the bed and threw that in the washing machine, got the second load ready to go as soon as they were done. I get home from shopping, put away the groceries. I go upstairs, put the laundry on the Drain and Spin cycle and the machine starting to make very loud and scary noises. Opened the drum and there was shredded plastic all over the inside of it. What a mess. Gary takes a look at it, researches some stuff and thinks it is some bearings inside the drum that have broken. $700 to get the parts. He tried a small load to see if is happens again, thinking that maybe the sheets and blanket when off balance and water started to leak all over.
Just great!
So we don't have a washing machine, no money to fix or buy a new one. The nearest laundromat is over 20 minutes away.

I sent my parents home with a load of towels and she will bring them up later this week or maybe we can meet her at my Drs offce when we are down there on Monday. SMDH. Thank goodness that they can do that for us.

Then as I was going to bed, my MIL texted Gary and me that her brother passed away suddenly. She isn't close to her brother, they haven't spoken in years but I know it is still sad for her. I told Gary that as soon as they take me away, he should go over to her house and see her but he doesn't want to leave me. Heck, I will be fine... I feel bad for my MIL. :(
Guess it shows that no amount or planning organizing can cover all the bases.

Have a wonderful day, my friends! ::grouphug

Felis- love your kitty cat! Our best kitty ever was a black cat. No superstition here.:)
I know what you mean about seeing a LO and knowing that it is just not quite right. I hope that you are feeling much better today-- and that your aunt is too.
How cool that you remembered that my avi is from one of my favorite books!!
I need to break that out again and laugh some more.

Hi Rae! I miss you here but I am really happy to hear that you are putting yourself first, taking care of yourself. I bet Taz is happy as well.
Good luck with everything that you need to do for B. Sending big hugs to you both

Trudy- Awww, we need to make your kitty a cake!
The avis are so awesome, aren't they? Hope that your babies feel better and that Mason doesn't catch a cold too.
My lawn is nothin but mud right now, but maybe soon it will dry up and we can see if any grass will grow.
My parents -- with an assist from my brother-- came up with 2 coolers full of foodItalian mamas know that sometimes the only thing that helps is to cook and eat. (as my empty tummy growls a bit)

Sharon- my great-grandparents and my grandfather were all born in Italy, immigrated right around the turn of the century with the wave of Italians.
Hope that you enjoyed your day outside!

W needs to go out, better do that while I still can! xoxoxo

good morning

Chris wishing you good luck and speedy recovery!

I am finally happy again. I went to my Devils hockey game. Yes to see hockey live again was awesome. Of course the outcome was not what I wanted but it was expected as my Devils lost to the Capitals 4-1. At least not a shut out. My son was awesome dropped me and his wife off right at the entrance. I got my ADA seats and we sat next to the nicest people. Got home and I was up until 11pm which I have not done for ages. I was able to walk just fine. In fact after the game I was able to walk to the parking lot. I was slow but fortunately it was not frigid so not a problem. It is good to be doing normal things. I love having my own mechanic. My window on the driver's side will go down but then not go up. So he picked me up for the game and then kept the car and will hopefully fix today. He says as always it will depend on if they have the parts.

Chris I am so sorry about the washing machine! Of course it happens when you are preparing for surgery. You are lucky to have in-laws with washing machines. I am sure that Cait and Scott can do that for you. So sorry about your MIL's loss. Even without talking it is a loss. Again good luck and rest when you get home!

Felis glad that the sun is shining! I always feel better when the sun is shining. That was a scary story about how your rescued your cat. Congrats on staying calm and saving your kitty! I know what you mean about scrap pages. Good luck and have fun at the party. I too love all the comments!

Trudy that is the pits that Heather and the kids not feeling well. Glad he was sleeping! That is great that you are raking. Our lawn is so wet that it is not possible and we are to get more this Thursday. See that the Bruins are doing super well. They play my Devils on Thursday. My poor team! Your avatar is too cute!

Rae that is awesome that you and Taz and jogging! Sending best vibes for B and her needs being met!

Sharon on my DH's side his grandmother is from Italy. Maybe why I have always wanted to go there. See his past.

Waving to all. Have a great day!

Morning ladies... I am up early, but then I was in bed before 9:30 last night. That never happens, but I guess all that raking just did me in! Almost done with the backyard raking and just the last little section around the shed needs to be done. It is gravel there so I will use the leaf blower to get all the pinecones etc. in a big pile and just scoop those up. Then the dreaded weeding in the gravel :mmph: my poor fingers will be screaming after that job! I have been slowly working on getting my etsy shop online and did another painting yesterday. I am doing a Tryptic of ocean blue colours and I have two completed so far. I will post when I am done working on them. I started a page yesterday for the upcoming birthday party too, so not sure if I will be able to complete it today as I leave on my hike soon and will be gone most of the day. Looking forward to being out hiking in the sunshine and the temps are going to be warm around 73 degrees F. :sorry: Chris I wish you could be on the hike with us!

Chris - Sending you lots of positive vibes in hopes that your surgery goes quickly and is painless for you! I am so sorry to hear that now your :washing: is on the fritz!! Gheesh Louise if you didn't have bad luck you wouldn't have any at all!! Nice that your parents will get the towels done for you and hopefully your washing machine can be fixed, but if it will cost as much as you say, then you might as well get a new one. I know easier said than done $$ is tight for you! Thanks for the good wishes to Heather and family, unfortunately Mason was the first to get the cold, so he is over it by now and probably has spread it to everyone in his kindergarten class :mmph: Wow you Momma and brother are so great for getting all that good Italian cooking to you and your family! They are the best! So sad to hear about the death in the family! I hope that your Gary goes to visit his Mother and consoles her a bit! Yes you are right it seems that the best laid plans go awry at least that is what my Mother used to say :becky: no amount of planning ever seems to work out the way you wanted. Hang in there my friend
hang-in-smiley.gif
and take good care of you!!

:hello: Nancy!! We have missed you here, but so happy that you are feeling happier! So great that you are able to get out and live your life again! How great that you got to your Devil's game last night, we were wondering if you were there. Yes the Bruins are doing so great right now, sure hope it continues! DH is hoping that they will play the Leafs in the finals it should be good! He just wants to be able to brag to our Brother-In-Law :becky: not nice, but Brother-In-Law is usually in our face about our Bruins. Hope your son is able to fix your window in the car! Yes you are very lucky to have your very own Mechanic!!

Ok I better get my morning chores done and then get my backpack all ready to go, sure hope I don't fall behind on this hike, it is a bit tougher with lots of elevation and I am out of practise!

Just want to pop in wishing Chris an easy surgery that's happening any minute and a speedy recovery. Just wish things didn't try to interfere at the last minute, but what else is new.

To all a happy Spring Equinox and the astronomical beginning of the new season. I know we're all so eager for it to really arrive. At least we'll now have more light than dark to the days!

Hello O's popping in quick...all ready for DD return and find a crack in the base of her shower (bad contractor) She will not be happy, but I ended up having the plumber fix the extra shower so she has one of her own while she is here. Nice mom!

trudy- the new painting sounds beautiful. Good luck with etsy.

Good morning girls, I never came back yesterday, but really busy end of the week. Fortunately whit good things, my aunt came home from the hospital today (already is Thursday). Will have to take a pills for a long time and permanently diet, but she say she feels much better! Will go to see her through the weekend, because she need quiet time for now, but we talk often on the phone.
Spring start here with rain, and even I dislike the mud, the smell of the air is magical, and the lullaby of the raindrops falling on our roof, oh it worth it all! As Trudy, my garden is ready too, but have to buy some seeds. Many of my flowers are annuals, so needs replacements.

Chris, I'm so nervous to hear hows you feeling now, and how the operation went. Hope it isn't too painful now!
So sorry about your MIL, condolence to her and the family! Even if they wasn't close, a lose like this is painful, first because makes you realise that you are miss your chance to fix the things with this person, and second remind us how fragile our lives are. Definitely she will need to see Gary. Did she lives away?!
Oh our best kitty ever was a black cat too! I love them (even this one that I have right now isn't fully black, but he at less try :tongue1: ) . Also in england black cat is for luck, so match excellent for party with draw. So yeah, when I saw this pic I knew it's me, this with the avis is so funny idea, lots of laugh! Ugh, this with the washing machine is such a . Sounds as repair is expensive than to get another. How was this Craigslist?! when people found things on deal, hope you have luck with that! Poor Cait, will have bad time hand laundry for the whole family, it's something I really hate.

Nancy, such a great news, and sounds as lot of fun to be back on a stadium! Hope the car window to be easy for repair! Not as it could be problem for your son, but sounds like you want your car back quickly. I'm sure you have new some plans ;) .

Oh Trudy, your avatar is totally adorable! I want to hug him, and hold him, and give every treats it wants! Sorry to hear that kids are been sick, wish them to get well soon! How was the hike?! It sounds as one of the difficult. I do hope that the walk is give you inspiration for all of the art projects that you are working on!

Rae, it's a relief to hear that you finally are found time to slow down and take some 'ME' time, after the whole stress in your life!

Sharon, bet you are so exciting about your daughter coming! Have a lovely time together!

Jean, always happy to see you around! Kay and Zanthia  !
