Onto Day Five of the Party!

I think I have shared this video before. Caitlyn and I sang it over and over while we prepared everything for her Grad party last year. When she got Covid and postponed it, we sang mournfully, Party, party, party, no one's at the party
Such a great show BTW. A new season is coming this summer.

As you can tell by my tone, I am in a much, MUCH better frame of mind this morning. I apologized to Cait and explained what was buzzing about in my head and heart. I asked her to please bear with me since there are a lot of big milestones coming up this year. I kind of kept to myself much of the day. I went outside and weeded stuff that really didn't need weeding just yet. That always helps.
The highlight of my day: I threw watermelon rinds on the compost pile and didn't cover them up. There was enough watermelon on them for any critters to enjoy. After dinner, we watched a bunch of them drag one piece to the middle of the yard and eat (and over) it.


They're not that great, I was hanging out of the bathroom window trying to not drop my cell phone.

Today is a bunch of errands and desk tasks, then I am off to clean for my friend.

I wish I didn't have a chemically imbalanced brain, it kinda sucks.
I want all of the squirrels and chipmunks to enjoy the rest of the watermelon.
I wish my kids could buy a huge house and we could all live together but in separate apartments.

Whine away about food prices, or any prices, and I'll join in. It is just awful. There was something that I wanted to put in my cart the other day and was twice as much as used to spend on it. It makes me so aggravated.
What did you get from Rachel?? You have to show us!

@vickyday I have never heard that saying but I get what it means. Thank goodness both of my kids want to stay within 30 minutes of us, and the same with Sam and her mom. Scott and Caitlyn have good jobs they want to stay at too. Caitlyn has a three-year probationary period if she leaves before then. she might have to pay back her benefits. She works for the State and Scott works for the County so I am assuming he might have a similar situation.
It'll be ok, when it comes time, I'll cry but I'll also deal with it. I won't have a choice!
BTDT with our dogs, missed communication between humans and furbabies. *nods* How is he feeling today, tummy better?

@taxed4ever you must be getting tanned and toned from your time on the lake. I bet that felt good after your day of (that is how I feel many days too LOL)

Thank you for the advice about empty nesting. I have a hard time staying in the moment and if I don't figure out how to do that, I am going to needlessly make myself have a crummy year.

@bcgal00 I can't imagine workers/contractors just not showing up. Did the pool people come by?
The OOB challenge was a lot of fun.
I am 70% through Golden Girl and I am really enjoying it. bet you are going to have some good conversations with the group. Do you have a study guide you are following or just going to ask questions as they come up?

@Cherylndesigns Decluttering Queen! I have been working on that too but you can't tell, there is no visible difference.

Hehehe! Asher the Dog vs Asher the Boy -- glad that the right one went in his crate. That's really exciting, they will be closer to you in 6 weeks! Steph doesn't seem like she is one to sit around and wait either. If she knows she s going, no point in not packing now.
You nailed my mental state-- it's always about me not feeling like I have any control. I am most definitely *not* A Just Wing It kind of girl

Good luck to Shaun if he decides on a Business Major. Do you think that is something he really wants to do or just *thinks* is a good move? Caitlyn was working from home yesterday, pre-packaging schedules for her incoming students. The pile of Bio Majors was enormous and she said that half will be gone or switched after the first year, or second... or even third. I hope that he finds something that he loves to do.
You and Eva made me laugh, I wonder if it is a guy thing because Scott said the same thing to me even as he and Sam are looking to move out. He said that they discussed this, and the timing was to start looking this summer. But now that it's here, he knows he has a good thing at home Ha!!

Good Morning ladies... I need to get going soon, so I won't be in here too long again today. It is a lovely sunny morning, but there is a bit of smoke haze hanging over the top of the mountains. Terrible fire up Island and the highway has been closed up there for quite some time. Fire fighters are having a hard time getting to the burning trees. Lots of trees have fallen on the highway and it just isn't safe for anyone to be on that stretch of road. Poor people in Tofino/Ucluelet have had to wait and wait for food supplies etc. This is a very busy Tourism spot and it will be suffering once again as people cancel their vacations. Yesterday's paddle on the lake was so beautiful, we paddled out to where Team Canada is practicing and watched them for a bit too. They are so in sync and man do they go fast!! So fun to watch! I finally got a page done for Cheryl's OOB challenge and I hope to get back to doing some more scrapping this afternoon. Today's hike is in Ladysmith at a lovely place called Holland Creek Not a terribly long hike, but certainly a beautiful one! We will go across the highway when we are done and have our lunch down on the beach. There are some food trucks there so it should be a good way to end the hike.

@faerywings - I am glad you are in a better state of mind today! I know that Caitlyn will be very understanding of your feelings about her moving out. It is the natural state of things for our children to leave and start a life of their own, its why we raise them to be responsible humans right?!! You must remember how lucky you are that they will be close to you and not on the other side of the country!! Yes if I ever figure out how to concentrate on one thing at a time I will let you know LOL. Here is a fun video about how mens brains and women's brains are so different A Tale of Two Brains. Good for a laugh!

Asher did "it" again while I was out with Mark yesterday! Last night he needed to go out twice after Mark went to bed, which is highly unusual! Mark called me from work today and I told him. He thinks it might be the shots he got at the vet last Friday and said, hopefully, it will wear off in a week! I sure hope so! I just know that if he is off his bed during the day and even so much as looks at me he is going outside!
As for me.....I canceled my play date with my musketeers as my tummy is in an uproar today! Hopefully we can get together on Friday before Ilene leaves for 3 weeks to visit with her cousin in WV. Thanks for asking!

Good Morning!
Happy Day 5 of the birthday party!
I didn't get anything done I planned on doing yesterday except for working on the puzzle! I just can't stop once I start, LOL! I was up until 2 a.m. working on the stupid thing! Almost done, however! The hardest part is left.....the muted areas that are all basically the same color!

Had a play date with Ilene and Carolyn set for today but had to cancel due to stomach issues. Hopefully we can reschedule for Friday.

Asher is still having issues. I found more after I got back from lunch with Mark yesterday! Mark says it might be from the shots he got at the vet last Friday! So, I guess every time he moves from his bed I'm going to take him out to be safe! Mark said he jetted for the door first thing this morning.....even BEFORE he wanted his food! THAT is unheard of for him! Asher is all about the food all the time, LOL!

Good morning ladies. We had a bit of rain yesterday and today is a bit overcast and warm but won't get hot. I don't mind this. Cooler temps for a week or so is very welcome. The pool is almost ready, it is filling, the new pool liner looks nice. I was going to go out to the lake to visit some friends but its not that warm out, its overcast, not such a great day to go swimming and sit at the beach. I'll go out this afternoon to the dog park for remi.

Visited with friends yesterday, haven't seen them in a few months. Where does the time go?

@faerywings I've only read about 1/3 of the book and am enjoying it. It is an easy read. I like her writing style. For the club I will give my opinion and then ask a few questions to get the discussion going, very basic questions. Then I will give them the list of 5 books for them to vote on before they leave. The top 2 votes will determine the books for the following two months, that way we'll always be a bit ahead with our picks, so those that get them from the library have time to reserve them. Honestly, the point of the club is to chat for a few min about the book and then we'll just hang out, chatting amongst ourselves and having lunch together.

I think I'll make sloppy joes for dinner. I have keto buns for me. That's one of my fave meals. I am so basic Nothing fancy for me.

@taxed4ever Enjoy the hike today, sounds like fun.

Time for more coffee and get on with my day. BTW, I have been managing to survive on 3 cups of coffee a day (instead of 6-8) and have been taking magnesium along with a night time tea blend for sleeping/relaxation. I don't know if that is why, but last night I slept thru the night - that never happens!!! I couldn't believe I opened my eyes and it was 7:20 (I had fallen asleep before 11). I'll continue the routine and hope that my sleep pattern remains improved, probably not every night like that, I 'm sure, but sometimes is certainly welcome.

Good afternoon all. A quick in and out for me - I just got home. Had an Ava/Cici day - we went to lunch, then to Dollar General, then back to her house. She's been doing lots of redecorating and it looks so cute. She had to get back to work, so I just walked back in. I had food for Chuck, so he was happy. He loves it when I bring him food.

Chris @faerywings I'm glad you're in a better place today. It's ups and downs, for sure. Cute pictures and loved the video. Yes, it's pretty funny about Asher and Asher. I can't wait for them to be so close and it's not too far off now.

Vicky @vickyday do you think something is wrong with your Asher? He might be sick and you said he got some shots. Maybe take him in and have him checked out? If Daisy did that, I'd definitely know something was wrong. I don't think she's done that for as long as we've had her. Watch me jinx myself. LOL

I've had quite a few of my layouts put on canvas and I'd rather do that than frame them. Walgreen's does such an awesome job!
