Another super-cold morning here in NJ. I don't like it. But-- I took the dogs out and it wasn't pitch dark at 7 am so I will take any scrap of "good" that I can :)

I spent the majority of my day with my heat pack and it seems to have helped. I was able to scrap a photo of two of the babies in their hammock. I also got to play with them too, they were having fun hanging out in my hoodie. They have bonded so quickly to Caitlyn, that makes her delighted. Other than that, it was pretty quiet.
I am finally off to clean for my friend. Poor guy- I haven't been there in a month. The last time I was supposed to go I bailed b/c we wanted to get tested before the holiday. Which in hindsight, doesn't seem to matter because the person Scott was exposed to, and the subsequent reason for caution, was Ian- who was sneaking around with LL who were then both around my parents and Gary's parents for two days straight. That is up near the top of reasons why Scott was furious at both of them. If any of the g-parents got sick-- whooo boy, I would have to hold my kids back from doing some damage to those two. Thankfully, that didn't happen.

Anyway-- that is it here. Sending all of you big hugs today!

@LSlycord What a huge drop in temps for you in FL. I can't imagine how "brisk" that walk was. I can't imagine a walk in 40* temps as it is! hahaha
Hope that you ended up feeling more ambitious, I hate those days when I feel like the human equivalent of a slug

@bcgal00 The rain is going to make everything a mess, so smart of you to have that lick mat for the dogs when they need a bath. Bet they are going to need a bunch of them this week. That is totally something I would do - forget the reason I stopped at the store b/c I ended up chatting. LOL
I am sure that Remi was thrilled to go back to the store- did she want you to get more toys?

@Cherylndesigns How is the family feeling today? Did you and Adrienne get to walk a bit? Hope that everyone is on the mend. Poor Alyssa!
That is good that Steph is making Asher wear a mask, I am sure it is a PITA but at this point, there isn't much else you can do.

@taxed4ever What in the world-- why are men (your FIL) so stubborn? Why do they rearrange facts in their heads to suit themselves? I am astounded that your FIL thinks he should be driving. Do you think there is a reason why he was interrupting MIL so much, a hearing issue or just stubborn male syndrome?
That is sweet that your Gary loved lunch- do you think he will do some sort of keto plan with you too?
Did I mention that the ILs got Caitlyn a Cricut? She is having fun messing around with it but says it has a pretty steep learning curve. The boys are going to love their shirts, esp since Grandma made them special. <3

@Kythe BIG points for you! Are you going to walk every day? You can do it!
I have to write things down or my brain will lose all of my thoughts. Do you have a family history of dementia or is it something you are trying to be aware of? Anything you can do to keep your brain stimulated has to help either way.

@tjscraps I am so sorry to hear that DH is in the hospital! I am sure that's the last place you both want him to be. Hopefully, this will do the trick and get him feeling back to himself again. You must be so worried.
I wish I could do something to help, but know I am sending you good thoughts and big hugs- for him and for you. Good luck today with the surgery- may the Drs get good margins.

@mom2triplets04 Good to hear Myla is better- any news on the test results? Hope she is ok. Whisky had Giardia when we rescued her and that was dis-gus-ting. If she is clear of parasites you can def. add some white rice to her food to bind her up a bit.

Good morning all. Beautiful sunny day, although cool. However, I'll take it. I did get a bit more ambitious and realized that I am getting in so many more steps than I was before this dumb diet. I didn't go anywhere yesterday and the only walk that I took was the daily walk with Shaun but I just have more energy and so I'm up and about which is very good news.

I have a job interview today and one tomorrow. So it appears that someday I will go back to work. LOL It's ok...feeling a bit empty nest-ish here although Shaun told me this morning that he is going to find a job around here once he graduates so he doesn't need to leave home and pay rent. LOL:) No problem with me...I'll keep them as long as I can.

I did do a layout yesterday. @tanteva had a post about ABC book and I decided to do that for our adventures in Florida. My goal is to make a book that I can print by the end of the year. I started with C for the Citrus Bowl so it definitely won't be in order. And I got Billy Joel tickets for Brian for his birthday. We talked about it but he doesn't think that I did anything about it. So I will surprise him with that as a birthday present. That adventure isn't until March but at least I know that B is for Billy Joel.

Think I'll swing in for a few personals and then work a bit more on my office. I know, I know, I said that was going to be done in December.

@faerywings we have the flights booked, one leg of the train travel booked (Paris to London) and the three hotels. So we are making progress. I have also started a list of things that we need to purchase although I'm holding off on those items for awhile. (Passport carriers, electrical converters, etc.)

@bcgal00 how was the time at the pet store for the return trip? Did Remi get to go the second time? If so, I bet that she wants you to always be forgetful. ;)

@Cherylndesigns I had to laugh about the cold weather in southern Florida. I said to Brian today that maybe we should move to Orlando where it would be warmer. Of course, in the summer, I would want to move back to the "cooler" temps of St. Johns.

@taxed4ever excellent that Gary is on Keto with you. So much easier when you have a partner. And will probably make him feel better too. Sorry that your FIL and MIL are having difficulties. It is such a hard time watching our parents age.

@Kythe so excited that you saw the beginnings of crocus and daffodils. Those are a couple of my favorites but we don't get to experience that in the springtime here. The downside of no freezing weather I guess. And good for you for getting out and taking a walk...lots of health benefits although I don't do it nearly enough.

@tjscraps I am thinking of you and your husband today. Hoping that things go well on your surgery and that he starts getting the necessary nutrients for his body. Glad that you MIL came to watch the girls.

@mom2triplets04 glad that Myla is better. I'm getting rather attached to her through your layouts. She has such beautiful eyes.

Well I'm off to do a few real world things...talk to everyone later.

Good Morning everyone! Rain, Rain, go away!! Sure glad that this is not snow or we would have six feet of it by now! I spent the entire day yesterday getting Hunter's T-Shirt finished!!! Hooray it is done and I am happy with it, so hopefully he will be too! Most of the time I can find a SVG file of what I want to cut out on my Silhouette, but of course a couple of characters that Hunter wanted to have on his shirt, there were none to be found. So I ended up having to use png. files from colouring books on the internet and then turned them into SVG cutting files. Ugh lots of work, but hey it's for my grands, so thats ok!! I can finally get these out in the mail today. I also found a nice quilt pattern stashed in the bottom of my sewing basket. You know you are bored when you clean out your sewing basket and tidy up all of your threads, needles, etc. LOL. Anyway I don't quilt, I don't know why I even have this pattern?? So I asked my DIL Jackie if she would like to have it. She is an amazing quilter and made me this sweet little panel with Christmas Gnomes on it for a gift while they were here over the holidays. She said she would love to have it, so I will mail that out to her today also. So that will be my excitement for the day, to finally get out of my house and go to the Post Office Whoo, Hoo!!. Today I will actually get to scrap a page for one of the challenges! I am looking forward to doing that!

@faerywings - Good for you for getting out for a bit of a walk yesterday! Glad that the heating pad is helping your poor back! Yikes, no wonder Scott was so mad! I would be furious too, to think that your parents might have been exposed to Covid!! Really how very selfish and devious of both Ian and LL!! Yes my FIL is one Stubborn guy! Not sure why he is so bad for interrupting, he does to everyone now. He has hearing aids, so that is not the problem, he has gotten much worse over the last couple of years, so we are thinking that he has a bit of dementia. He makes up things too, talks about all the wondrous things that he has done, most of it isn't true. It is very sad and the family needs to figure out what is going to happen in the near future, for home care etc. Yes, my Gary is doing Keto with me, he has no choice, unless he wants to make his own meals LOL. He has already dropped a couple of lbs. It will come off quickly for him, it always does, which is so unfair!! It takes me much longer to lose the weight. That's ok though as I know it is healthier if I lose it slowly!

@LSlycord - How exciting to be getting your plans for your trip in place! Sure hope it all works out and that you are actually able to go! The train to London, will be so much fun! I loved riding the bullet train from Paris to Vimy Ridge. It was fast and fun! Vimy is a beautiful place to see! We went to many of the War Memorial places while in France. You will have a great trip!

@tjscraps - Ohhh your poor hubby! I hope he is able to get healthy and have his surgery soon! I also hope that your procedure goes well too. Nice that your MIL is there to help you out. Sending you lots of healing thoughts!

Ok I have a face time call coming in so gotta run! have a great day!

Good morning ladies. Lots to do today and Jen is coming for a doggie playdate at lunchtime. So have to be quick today. My back continues to improve, I've lost a couple of lbs, yay for starting to lose, I was stuck this last month, staying the same and I'm going to start weight lifting this wkend. I figured I'd better wait a few more days and make sure the back was ok before starting something new.

We're waiting to hear from the head of the neuro/TBI institute as they are going to try to get B in as soon as possible for further assessment on meds and any ideas on coping with the brain injury behavioral problems. Fingers crossed. This could also help facilitate moving her up the list for a placement in Kamloops (they have a TBI branch there). It'll take time to get everything done but it is looking like moving her up there is going to be possible but we've learned over these last years to only believe when it is actually happening so we're hopeful but not absolutely believing yet.

Today is CT work, desk work, laundry, finding my recipe for mushroom sauce and I need to pay bills later. Busy day.

@faerywings So happy the little ratties are bonding so well. Be careful cleaning today, don't overdo it. I was strong at the pet store. I did not buy any more toys for Remi yesterday although she would have loved me to. But I have 4 tuff stuffies put away for when the current ones get shredded (which won't take too long). I'm curious to see how the dogs do with the Kong knotty rope toy that was one of the more expensive ones but hopefully will last longer.

@LSlycord Good luck with the job interviews. The ABC book should be fun to put together. That's a great idea.

@taxed4ever Good for you for passing on the pattern to your DIL. You'll have to PM your address to me so I can get a little gift box ready for you over the next month or two. If there is anything specific you're looking for, let me know. I'm not sure what kind of projects you are doing these days. Are you making cards? Doing any card stamping? We'll have to chat about it.

I'm getting a coffee and getting to work now. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning! Ohhhhh, I can STILL say "morning" - it's only 11:30 here. Haha

Well, I slept like poo last night. I don't know what's wrong with me! UGH - I can't fall asleep again and then I feel like I "half sleep" then I start waking up early. I'm so over this. It's going to be noon by the time i get this done, so I'm going to move along. I keep stopping to watch something on TV.

Alyssa's a little better - it IS Covid Rash - I didn't know it was a thing, but she got medication yesterday - Adrienne was able to do a telemed appt. Braden called me last night and he sounded good - said he felt normal again. Ava brought us some groceries and set them on the porch and called me to tell me it was out there. LOL This is getting RIDICULOUS.

I'm going to hop over to the forum - have a great day! Hugs to all.

I'm back. Linda @LSlycord good luck with your job interview.

Chris @faerywings I was just standing in the kitchen and it popped into my head that you were sitting with heat. Is your arm stil hurting from your shot??? Mine is feeling better, finally. I didn't think it would ever stop. Did you get those heat patch things? They really helped me.

Hubby is doing ok. Still nothing by mouth so that sucks, hopefully he’ll get something soon.

I’ll catch up in the next few days on what everyone is up to. Hope you are all doing ok!!

Well, Myla threw up her breakfast. I called the vet. They said they'd call back. She has better poop at least. Called vet again at 12. vet still hasn't called me.

Finally hubby got the Christmas lights sorted and put away! It only took 6 days.lol
@faerywings , @LSlycord The rain is washing away all the snow. It is coming down so hard there is fear of further flooding so no walk today. I am not a big fan of any type of exercise even though I know there are many benefits to it. Dementia isn't really a family thing although my mom at 89 was starting to forget things like a pot boiling on the stove. The caregiver she had took the knobs off the stove and hid them so mom wouldn't use the stove. Boy did that make her mad. She didn't think she needed a caregiver because she had 2 daughters. hmm We were both working at the time and dealing with children, so what she thought we would be able to do during the day is beyond me.

I finally worked out how to do the doge and burn tutorial. It helped to know where the tools were hidden.lol I couldn't see the little arrow in the corner of the sponge tool which I never use. I have spent the morning doing extractions and used that technique on almost all of them. Sure made a difference.
