Really now, this is just too much. So tired of it all. But it looks like the snow/sleet is slowing down a bit. We got dumped on last night and I am not quite sure I want to deal with shoveling it. I might just stay inside until June and let it all melt away.

But in spite of all my weather-bitchin', I am in a good(ish!!) mood. The surgeon's office called me yesterday while i was at work and got me in yesterday. Whew! It feels really good to have that first step down. Basically, she didn't tell me much that I didn't know, but she went over all of my different options. The only thing that was new is that they recommended the genetic testing for the BRACA gene mutation based on my age. Being under 50 puts me at higher risk for that. I don't think that the results will change my decision for surgery. If i test positive, the medical opinion is to do a prophylactic double mastectomy and I don't think I would do that. But I would like to have that info for my kids' sake.

So, I will most likely have the lumpectomy in early March, followed by radiation. That is something I am going to need to think and talk to a dr about more. Evaluate risks and all that more. But I will know more after te surgery and BRACA test.

Gary is very glad that I got in yesterday because he was joking that I would need a Xanax IV drip today if I hadn't. And a hat tip to my FIL! He is home from work today and offered to come up and take me to my appt today. So awesome. I love my family!

So that is about it for me.

Hey nancy-- how is it down in your neck of the woods? Not too bad, I hope. How is your DIL feeling? Hope she is doing better. And how was the autograph signing? More for your purse?

Thanks Momma O!!

Trudy! Congrats on the Standing O!!!

jean- LOL at the Weather Bitch Alert!! Hope it wasn't too bad for you-- and I am done done done with this winter!

Phyllis-- love this guy!

And yes, some "good" did happen, so thank you for the thoughts! Gary said to me that we are the "luckiest bunch of unlucky people." hahahahah!!!!
UGH on the dishwasher.......

Andrea- how did your dr appts go? Hugs to you!

Our goldfish is sick. We get feeder fish and keep them in our garden pond in the summer to eat the mosquitoes. In the winter we try to bring them into to fish tank. But this one has bloat, according to Scott. He is trying some stuff to help it, including the peas. But I don't think he is going to make it :(

Hope everyone has an awesome and happy day!

Morning O-zies! Cold again today and we even have a wind chill, so had to thaw out the hummingbird feeder this morning and will have to keep an eye on it all day. Weather man says this will be our coldest week so far this winter. But nothing compared to what they are experienceing on the Prairie!!

Chris - I was so happy for you when I saw on Facebook that you were able to see the Dr. yesterday!! Hooray, you get to relax and not worry about going anywhere today! Hope that everything goes well with the BRACA testing! Such a worry!! Dam Cancer!! I think it must affect everyone on the planet in some way! Hope you find a cure for your poor Goldfish! I flushed so many of them down the toilet when my kids were little, that I lost count. Hopefully you won't have to do the same! Sending you all of my positive thoughts today and hoping that winter will soon turn into spring for you!!

Wow very quiet in here this morning, guess everyone is keeping warm under the covers today! I am off to scrap, did not get anything finished yesterday, so picking up where I left off. Have a wonderful day everyone!

HEELLLLOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Since I have an awesome snow day and got my paper for my class out of the way, I thought I'd peek in to the Daily O's. I know I can't keep up with them on a regular basis, but I miss talking with you all. Next year it's going to get worse. I have to take TWO classes and one of them will be statistics. Blech. And scary.

Chris - I love ya. I'm sorry you got dumped on too. I'm sick of cold and snow too, but I was thankful for the snow day today. I was tired yesterday and had this paper hanging over me. I am glad you got in to your appointment and sorry the whole thing gets so drug out. When did you officially find out about the lump? I'm so behind because I don't read this every day. this morning I read a few weeks back worth. It's nice that you post first every day so I can find you easily! LOL

Trudy - Can I come live in the hummingbird feeder? It's a wind chill of -13 right now. :'-(

Thanks for letting me crash the thread today!!

Not so much Weather Bitch today. Last night we didn't get as much snow as predicted but it may be trying to make up for it now. I'm so glad they let me change today's dentist appt. to next week (as if that will be any better!)

Chris, so glad you actually got the appt. in! So many decisions to make, hope they work out for the best. And the snow doesn't get us all. :smow:

Trudy, I'm with Sara for coming in your hummingbird feeder! What's coming to it?

Sara, some of us only post here rarely. They seem to let us in anytime.
Hope your snow day is all good. I need to use the time well myself.

Chris, double WOOT! for getting in yesterday. i was so glad i saw that on Facebook yesterday so i didn't have to worry about you this morning! your FIL is a PRINCE! what a guy, to offer to drive you in this mess. do you know, did that office cancel all their appointments today? good luck with the BRACA. we have a woman news anchor here in the city who had the prophylactic double mastectomy done about 10 years ago. i think she was in her 30s. she made it all very public and talked about it. don't completely rule out any treatment, OK? i know this is going to be a time full of tough decisions. (((hugs)))

Trudy, sorry that my Paradise Place is getting really cold weather!! tell it to just STOP IT!!! i want to be able to dream of Vancouver when, day after day, i look outside and see...what i see. :smow:

well  i've been a total slug. we awoke to 6" of snow topped off with 1/2" of ice. poor Hubby was 1/2 hour shoveling our little driveway. DD had to be at work at 8, so i worried about that until she called to say she'd arrived. i cleaned out a few kitchen drawers, tended the (damned...) wood stove, did a bit of laundry and TOOK a NAP!! i was so sleepy by 9:30 (up at 5 after a not-too-fabulous night's sleep) that i just said, "what the heck!" and headed for the recliner. the cat and i slept for two hours. now i feel like i'm in the Twilight Zone. :twitch: but. gotta make a quiche for dinner and fold the towels downstairs in the dryer. and try to wake up.

so. off i go. weird sort of a day, isn't it? :behindsofa: :brick:

Good afternoon - Chris I am so happy for you that you got in yesterday. I was so wondering how you could ever get in today. The weather by mean is the pits. I have ice building up on everything. I hate ice storms! Give me snow any day. Yesterday was really fun. My son and I went to the signing. I give the Devils credit for trying to do it the right way and not put too much pressure on the players (note a little sarcasm here). They divided the team into 3 groups. Each was to skate with fans and then to sign autographs for 50 min. Well most of them never got to the signing area on time. But they all tried very hard to get everyone their autograph. It was just that who ever runs these things never allows them to stay past the designated time. It took over 30 min to get a Marty autograph but I did. Luckily my son was there so he stood in shorter lines. He got Henrique's autograph on his Henrique jersey so that really made him happy. But he also got autographs on lots of my scraping pages. The head coach Pete DeBoer asked to see my pages. That was really cool! Several players made really nice compliments so that was fun! And for those I did not have pages I had them sign my purse and it is pretty much covered. All in all I was a happy camper. I should have one more signing event and I pretty much just need two pucks signed.

Again Chris so glad that you got to see the Doctor!

Trudy I loved your standing "O" page! that was such a cute photo!

Phylis hope you are surviving another winter storm

Have a great day all! Spring is one day closer!
