Really now, this is just too much. So tired of it all. But it looks like the snow/sleet is slowing down a bit. We got dumped on last night and I am not quite sure I want to deal with shoveling it. I might just stay inside until June and let it all melt away.
But in spite of all my weather-bitchin', I am in a good(ish!!) mood. The surgeon's office called me yesterday while i was at work and got me in yesterday. Whew! It feels really good to have that first step down. Basically, she didn't tell me much that I didn't know, but she went over all of my different options. The only thing that was new is that they recommended the genetic testing for the BRACA gene mutation based on my age. Being under 50 puts me at higher risk for that. I don't think that the results will change my decision for surgery. If i test positive, the medical opinion is to do a prophylactic double mastectomy and I don't think I would do that. But I would like to have that info for my kids' sake.
So, I will most likely have the lumpectomy in early March, followed by radiation. That is something I am going to need to think and talk to a dr about more. Evaluate risks and all that more. But I will know more after te surgery and BRACA test.
Gary is very glad that I got in yesterday because he was joking that I would need a Xanax IV drip today if I hadn't. And a hat tip to my FIL! He is home from work today and offered to come up and take me to my appt today. So awesome. I love my family!
So that is about it for me.
