CHEERY O
I am really stressing today. I had a rough day yesterday, more F-ups with the Lyme meds/pharmacy/insurance stuff. Then I called my breast surgeon to let her know that I would be starting the new abx by the end of this week (hopefully). When the nurse called back, she was concerned b/c the surgeon doesn't like to do surgeries if there is an active infection. So now they want to call my Lyme dr to figure out what to do. On top of that, weather forecasts are calling for snow/ice on Monday. Last night I even had a dream that I got my pathology back and that it had spread and they were immediately hooking me up to chemo.

I can't deal with much more. I feel like as soon as I get a little bit stable, it all changes again.

Right now, my biggest fear is that the surgery won't happen. I won't be able to handle that. At all. I know that it is unlikely-- myrational brain says that. But my irrational, fear-driven, insane part is getting stronger with each freaking bump i am hitting.

On the good news side, Cait and I have an appt to get our nails done together on Friday. And as long as it stops snowing in time (only AM snow showers are being predicted for today) I am meeting my bff for coffee. Gotta keep finding the good.

I am so so sorry for being such a downer. I have said it a million times that I don't handle change well and that is what every hour seems to do to my life ATM.

Anyway, I will shut up now..... if I am really quiet, it is nothing personal!

love to all!

Chris, is there a hotel/motel near the hospital? if the weather is going to suck on Monday, maybe you and Gary can stay overnight on Sunday near the hospital? damn this weather. and blast the whole messed-up situation. are they calling your Lyme an "active infection? if so, WHEN exactly will it "clear up?"

nothing interesting going on with me. just more coughing and snow.

Oh Chris. I'm so sorry. I haven't been able to check in the last couple of days. I wish I had a magic wand for you. I would love to take it all away.

Not much going on here either. Just lots of work keeping me busy. My throat hurts. And more snow for us too. It snowed lightly all day Monday. From about 6 a.m. - 2 a.m. Tuesday. Then it got cold. Really cold tomorrow and snow Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

I'm having a baby shower on Sunday, so hopefully it will be clear enough to let that happen!

Let's hope the winter blahs move on soon!!

good morning the dusting of snow has not yet arrived thank goodness! It is cold though. My husband finally took down the Christmas decorations and I have begun to put my house back together. When he took everything off the mantel he put them where ever there was space and now I have to go searching. Then I go and get the vacuum and he has filled it so full that he has practically ruined it and I have to spend my time fixing it so it. He always complains that his students won't use the lab equipment correctly and yet he does this. Then when I mention to him again not to do this he gets all mad and says he knows. Oh well my home is looking good again.

Chris I think Phylis' idea about finding lodging closer might be a great option. And you are not a downer!

Phylis hope you continue to feel better.

Trudy I think that is so nice of you to paint that rock. Your photo of the snow is gorgeous! You truly live in such a beautiful place!

Have a great day all!

Nancy. WHY are men so predictable? you're probably nice and let the conversation stop after he says that to keep the peace. being the Wildwoman i am, my next line is always, "Well, if you KNOW, why do you always put me in the position of having to mention this to you? next time let's avoid all this by YOU cleaning out the &%*^ (insert appliance or location here....)" like i said. men. predictable.

Sara, sounds like your weather is about as crappy as ours!! hope things settle down for the shower.

it stopped snowing here. i think. it's windy and everything is blowing around. and it's too blasted COLD!!! STOP!!!!

Good morning ladies... it is foggy and very slippery at our place today, but the good news is that the snow is about half gone already! So no walk for me this morning, I guess it will be a treadmill day today :mmph: Later this morning I have a hair appt. I can't wait to get my bangs cut, they are driving me crazy!!! Getting rid of the grey too, it will feel so good to have it done! Then going out for dinner tonight, it is our 37th wedding anniversary today. Yikes!! I have really been married that long??

Chris - My dear friend... I am so sorry that you are having to deal with all of this!! It is just not fair!!! Please don't let it get you down too much, things will work out and I truly hope that things get better for you very soon!! You have had your share of "bad", now it is time for some "good"!! Send those positive vibes out to the Universe, I will help to send some too, it will come back to you

Phylis - Good idea about the hotel!! Hope that you are feeling a bit better today! Dam winter colds, its bad enough having to deal with winter weather, its worse when you are not feeling 100% ! Sending you some virtual Buckley's cough syrup and chicken soup!! Feel better

I haven't been to one of those for ages, I just love seeing all the new baby stuff that's out there now, wish they would have had half of those things when my kids were babies! And the smell of a new baby, its just so beautiful!! Can you tell I miss having babies in my life??? LOL

Nancy - MEN!!! Sometimes you could just hit them over the head!!

Ooh, I can't believe I'm so late in posting! Sorry, girls. :)

We've been sticking pretty close to home due to our old clunker of a van being in the sick (now it's back - YAY!) and Zoey's (the puppy) first week or so with us. But we've had lots of drop-in visitors (the only kind we have, it seems but it's all good). We're trying to make sure Zoey is well-socialized so she won't be agressive and we all end up on Cesar Milan's show! ;) Thus, all the visitors helps. The vet came by (yes, they do housecalls here - sooo nice!) to do her 2nd parvo shot so we had to give her a bath and wash her doggie bed/stuffed animal etc. Thankfully, DD's friend & our neighbor were happy to help so that made it easier. Don't you just love it when someone helps you out without asking or expecting anything? :)

I do some editing/writing/video production part-time for non-profit groups between homeschooling so I'm doing some prep for an on-location video shoot next week. We'll be hiking out to a really rural area to document a grassroots literacy program. I've been out there before because my friend who started the program grew up around there so we've gone to visit a number of times. It's very picturesque.

Let's see..what else....oh, the Adventures of Zoey the Landshark continue. Still chewing her way through the world (and our clothes, hands, etc. lol!). So more doggie chew toys are needed. That's it for my Wednesday.

Chris - HUGS!!!! Don't ever feel like you are complaining or a downer. You are facing a major life situation with grace and balance and authenticity. By admitting and sharing your honest feelings (good and bad and really, really crummy), you are being emotionally healthy (very important for healing) and allowing friends to give back some of the positivity you've given to others. So, keep sharing and know you are not alone and that the awful days won't last forever. HUGSSSSSS

And Phylis is right - stayijng at a nearby motel would relieve some stress and it would be even better if they had a spa with free massage therapy or something with aromatherapy. :)

Sara - Oh, hope you don't get sick! Have you tried ginger tea? Just take a piece of raw ginger, peel it slice it and boil it a little bit. Let it sit, add some honey or agave nectar and drink (and you can eat the ginger slices but they are a bit fiery). That might help your throat and immunity. How is the baby shower planning going?

Nancy - Yay on getting Christmas put away. ;) Some of our ornaments are so old, every year I think that I need to replace them but the family likes them so we have a tree with a very "worn and well-loved" theme. ;)

Trudy - Ugh on the weather but CONGRATS on your anniversary! Hope you had a nice dinner. I know some people recreate one of the meals from their first dates but that usually involves Taco Bell or McDonalds (if they met when they were first starting out and money was scarce) so hopefully your DH didn't do that. It can be a really creative idea though if it's done right. :)
