Is there any way to make this month slow down a tiny bit? Say-- let's tweak the weather so it is warmer but stick the calendar at mid-April a few more days. I am in no shape to start the May-June Campbell Chaos. It is like a marathon- I need to train for it and I ran out of time to do so. Hahaha!!!! I wish I could find the Old Me who knew how to be active and organized. (Also thinner and less wrinkled and grey- as long as I am fantasizing, might as well go all out! )

I was wandering aimlessly around the house, as usual, yesterday, and my ILs called to ask if they could come up to visit. That was nice to talk to them, catch up, and all that. They are going away next week and are looking fwd to that. My mom called too. Her sister yelled at her. Maybe not quite yelled but told her straight up to stop procrastinating about the surgery. That she was looking for excuses. That she needs to suck it up and make the appt and stop dithering, Hmmm-- has someone *else* told her the same thing??? I guess she needed to hear it from someone other than me? Or perhaps as the sister, she was able to get away with being harsher than me as the DD?
Either way, my mom seems a little closer to speaking to the dr. I think she knows it isn't going to happen before my dad's unless there is some miracle in scheduling.

I am picking up groceries this morning and cleaning this afternoon. Hopefully, not wasting time in between but I wouldn't bet on that ';)

Wishing you a fab day!!

@tanteva woot for getting all of the clothes bagged up to donate, but boooo to the cats for chewing on the bags. I *could* ask why you don't put the bags out of reach but I know better than to challenge cats to NOT climb after something they want. :p

@taxed4ever Is it normal for the snowfall on the mountains this late in April? Hahaha!!! ITA, mother nature needs to get off the crack bwahaha!!
Did you make all of the cards that you needed to do?
I hope that Jonah is feeling better and does not spread the germs to Heather or the boys. I got the notification about being eligible for the 4th shot/booster but I am going to wait until late summer/early fall so I can be better covered over the winter months. Unless things get much worse in the meantime, but for now I am going to hold off.
Thx for the reminder- I have a phone case/screen protector in my Amazon cart and I should order that today. Not that the case I have on this phone helped and this one is a wallet style. I dropped my phone while the cover was open.

@bcgal00 Your firepit is gas-operated? That is so cool! I love hearing about all of the new things you are getting installed and places you are exploring. B-fast for dinner is one of my faves :)

@BrightEyes It is so exciting that you will get to meet DIL tomorrow!!! Do they live in Las Vegas? How far is that from you? You are smart to label all of the wires for the TV. It is frustrating trying to figure it all out when they look almost identical but nothing fits

@Cherylndesigns I loooove it! Someone who thinks baby plants and herbs are so cute LOL
Yup, Caitlyn and I have a Pinterest board and Google Doc that we will use for party planning. She picked out the colors and pinned a few decoration designs.
I think we have 1 or maybe 2 episodes of Justified left, we watched one last night and it seems ready to be wrapped up.
Hope you and Adrienne survived the wild rumpus of dogs and groomers LOL!

Hi, all. Another busy day... the roof repair guy will be here this morning to give me an estimate on repairing the loose tiles and if there is any other damage. Then will be off to return/replace the internet/phone modem that is giving me problems. Then over to the grocery store to stock up for Jim's visit.

Got my new Samsung TV delivered and installed yesterday afternoon.... but although it senses the modem, the signal is too weak to hook up to it so I can get the streaming service. The modem is several years old so needs to be replaced. Can't say enough about how good the service guys were. They were friendly and willing to move my current TV into my bedroom and hook it and the antenna up. Had a power strip quit and he unplugged it and put another one I had in its place. They also took the old smaller TV away with them. Yea... no trip to the dump with it! Ended up only hooking up one of the DVD/VHS VCR to the new TV as had to buy a converter unit - old 3 wire plugs to a HDMI plug-in. The BluRay player already had a HDMI cord so it was fine. Had to LOL... the antenna for the new TV gets all the over the air channels but local Channel 13 and the one in the bedroom gets all but local Channel 7. I can live with that. I am going to see if I can find a small 2- shelf unit to set into the space where the small TV was and store some of my books there.

Talked to Chari about Jim's visit and she will get one of her sons to bring her down on Friday after work. Also told her about my fall yesterday morning. Looked out in the backyard and noticed that several long strips of paper towels were caught around the tree bases. They must have blown in from a neighbor's yard. I slipped on a pair of backless sandals and went out to pick them up. The trees are about halfway up the rock covered slope. Got the first strip then went over to get the 2nd one. While going up the slope, my feet slide backwards out of both sandals at the same time and I feel backwards to land flat on my back - head down on the slope. Took me a few minutes to figure out how to get turned so I could get to my feet. Managed to grab my sandals (and hang on to the paper towel strips I had already grabbed) then walk barefoot over the rocky ground to the small peach tree. Hung on to it and slipped the sandals back on and grabbed the last paper towel strip by that tree. Came in and took an Alieve and rested for awhile. Then took a hot shower and that eased the stiff muscles. Just have a slightly sore back this AM. I have learned my lesson... do NOT wear backless shoes if I have to walk up the slope in the backyard!!! And... carry my cell phone with me just in case! You guessed it - I didn't have my cell phone with me yesterday when I fell.

Chris, hope your mom stops dithering and makes the appt to get the pacemaker. Glad her sister is joining in chorus of getting that set up. Good luck on getting all your chores done.

Got run and get dressed... the roofing guy will be here in just a few. CYL

Morning everyone, it is super foggy today! I can hardly see the house across the street! But I hope that means that there is blue sky out there above all this fog! Hike will me a nice one today, so sure hope that the sun comes out for it! I got a page started yesterday but just ended up staring at it for awhile and then tossed it. Ugh, my mojo has left the building again. Will try again later today. I did work on a card, but not sure if it will be suitable for a birthday card. I was experimenting with a bunch of different mica powder paints and making some backgrounds, it was fun. Other than that my day was pretty un-productive and I just enjoyed some puttering around the house and flitting from one thing to another. Now I need to get my back pack ready to go and meet up with the group for my hike.

@faerywings - Sounds like your Mom got a talking to from her sister!! Hopefully that is the push she needs to finally get this appointment made! I can't blame you for wanting to slow this month down! So many events coming up for your family and now Cait's graduation celebration too! Deep breaths my friend, you will get through it! You always do! Jonah was back at work yesterday so must have been feeling much better, yes I hope he did not spread his germs to the rest of them. They have been through too many sick days already this year! As for your question about the snowfall... we haven't had this cold of weather in April for many years, so I guess it is unusual to see snow on the mountains now. However I can remember when we were kids we were not allowed to go swimming in the Lake until all the snow was gone from the mountains and some years that was into July. I think the weather must go in cycles where it is so dry and warm and then a few years of really cold and wet. But hey I am no meteorologist LOL. I hope your cleaning goes well today!

@BrightEyes - Oh my goodness Kay, I hope your back is not too stiff and sore today! What a scare that must have been for you to fall like that! Yes please make sure you take your cell phone with you at all times!! I am happy that you finally get to meet your DIL! You must be so excited! Hope that the new modem works so you can get your streaming service! How great that the service guys did the extra work and took away your old TV too!

@bcgal00 - How fun to have all these new things being delivered! I take it that you must have natural gas where you are for the outdoor firepit? You will have tons of wonderful evenings by it! Enjoy exploring with the dogs and taking lots of photos, too bad the price of gas is so bad for your trips though! Oh well you are retired now and can come and go when it is convenient for you! Enjoy!!

@Cherylndesigns - Sounds like you felt the same way as I did on Sunday after all that food and wine! I was in a coma state too!! LOL. Love that you have your cute herbs to get ready for the garden. I love those string of pearls too! They are so adorable!

Ok I need to get dressed and get out the door. Have a great day everyone!

Hi all! Been a bit quiet as DH had a medical emergency (narrowly avoided having to be helicoptered out of the cycle trail he was riding over Easter ...). He's fine now but it wasn't the holiday weekend we were expecting  I am now busy, busy, busy preparing for Color Play and NSD etc

Good afternoon, lovelies. It's 11:55 but it will be afternoon before I get this post done.

Chris @faerywings you're a step ahead of me on Pinterest. LOL It's such a great place to get ideas and if I don't save things, they're in and out of my head. I found a pair of "glammed up" white cowboy boots that i pinned for Ava to wear with her wedding dress. LOL Sounds like you and Cait are organized. Lots of twinkle lights is always my go-to! Fairy lights for the Faeries. They even make sheer white curtains that have fairy light inside! They're floor length and not very expensive at all. We got some for a pool party a few years ago. We decorated on a dime - used all of our collective twinkle lights from Christmas and it was like a magical fairyland out there. Most of our other decor and serving stuff came from The Dollar Tree. We even got plastic wine (stemmed) glasses there.

Yes, we survived The Wild Rumpus. Ava came over too but left the babies at home. That was all we needed - LOL. This mobile groomer is da bomb.com!! We LOVE it! She's a little bit more than we used to pay, but the trip from our house to the groomer was 30 minutes each way so 30 x 4 trips + the price of gas now. It was a full day of driving, leaving the dogs, driving home then repeating the process. We figure it's about a break even. She's THE sweetest lady, too - loves, loves, loves the dogs. She was going to trim the cat's nails and I swear that little stinker knew it. When he heard the dogs come in, he dove under my bed and would NOT come out. Next time, he's first.

I DO think my plant babies are SO cute. I tell them that every time I walk into the kitchen, especially the little cutie in the windowsill over the sink.

Kay @BrightEyes OH NO about falling! Your yard sounds like ours only in reverse. Our backyard goes DOWN to the front of the woods. I almost fell the other day going down there to untangle Daisy's rope. I want to plant some river reeds and told Ava I wanted her to help me this weekend. It's really scary. Glad you got your TV's all set up. We had to get a Roku thingy to put on ours to pull all of the streaming stuff in. We live in the country and our service is not like when we had comcast/xfinity. The Roke hooks to the top of the TV.

Trudy @taxed4ever I know how you felt the day after Easter. I was definitely in a food coma. I also ate a piece of buttermilk pie - think sugar cream with a little crisp on top. SO good but SO full of sugar - that was probably what put me over the top. LOL

I'm going to go and try to do some scrapping. Wish me luck.

Hugs to all.

Good morning ladies. Busy morning with the dogs, watching the birds, chatting with the family and got a (bad) photo of the first bird to discover the suet in the backyard. I'm hopping in the shower, need to tidy up and we have friends coming at lunchtime today. I'll be back later.
