Good morning lovely ladies. I'm hoping that @faerywings is tucked in with her mom on the coast and that she is sleeping late...or enjoying an ocean sunrise.

It's cool this morning. Only 63 degrees. I feel like I should go grab a sweater. But I'm not going to...I'm going to sit here and enjoy the feel of the cool air on my skin. Not much planned for today. Work of course. And the cleaning lady is coming. And I may head to the beach after work. That women's group that I belong to has a bunch of ladies that go to the beach on Tuesday nights. It is usually too hot for my liking...but with a high of 86 today, the beach at 6:00 could be quite nice.

Yesterday was uneventful. And I guess that uneventful is good right? Brian has started bringing home boxes from storage and I'm again starting a purge. I have decided to get rid of the punch bowl...when am I going to host anything that needs a punch bowl...and a chocolate fountain...nope. Not going to do it. Although I wish someone would do it and invite me over. Anyway...they aren't going to use up any more of my space.

@bcgal00 I was reading your posts from yesterday...I agree that the purging is getting easier the more times that I do it! I'm so excited about your house...and your upcoming trip. Not so excited about the dumb man and your computer. What is wrong with people!!!

I managed to get 3 bags of clothes together for charity and will start going thru the cabinets downstairs, I know I have kitchenware to purge. I’ve got my eye checkup this afternoon. Hopefully they are stable. I started going thru paperwork and receipts and made a big dent in the pile. I’ll work on that later today too.

We saw the northern lights from our deck last night. They weren’t very vibrant but it was still cool to see. Took a few pics with my phone.

@LSlycord Have fun at your ladies beach gathering tonight. Sounds fun.

I’m going to relax and read a few pages of my book before getting started on all the chores. HAGD everyone.

We were in the 50's this morning! LOVE IT! It sounds like a visit to the beach tonight will be WONDERFUL!!
BTW, ALL of the books I have listened to by Melanie Dobson have been excellent! I've used up all of my borrows for September from Hoopla and Libby only has one of her audiobooks, but I've already listened to it on Hoopla! So, I've got to wait until October to listen to any more of hers, drat it anyway!

I know you love to read! I wonder if audiobooks would be easier on your eyes? Plus you could be purging and listening at the same time! I hope your appt reveals that your eyes are stable!

Morning ladies, it is cloudy and cool this morning, we actually had to turn the heat pump over to Heat from AC to warm up the house :bawling:I am so not ready for summer to be done!! Not much happening around here today, so I might run to the store to get some things I need to make a big pot of hamburger soup. It feels like a soup making kind of day LOL. Other than that I am going to work on some more scrapping and more decorating of my junk journal, hopefully my wrist doesn't act up too much today. Tomorrow I go to the doctor to see what is going on with my arm/tingling, so no hike for me tomorrow. That's ok it is a very long drive on a not so great gravel road so I really don't want to take my car there. Pretty boring day today, not much new to tell you all.

@LSlycord - Hope your work day goes well and that you are enjoying your time in the cooler breeze this morning! The beach time at the end of the day sounds divine!! Good luck with your purging, it really does feel good to get rid of all the things that are not used anymore. Hopefully someone else can enjoy them! Yes I am wishing that @faerywings is enjoying her time with her Mom and getting in some much needed relaxation and beach time!

@bcgal00 - Sounds like you have been very busy purging also! Keeping my fingers crossed that your eye appointment goes well today!

@vickyday - I love to listen to audio books too! Especially if I have a long car trip to do. I will haven't had time to listen to anything over the summer, so now might be a good time to check some new ones out!

I need more coffee and then I will get my morning chores done. Heather will be call soon also. Hope you all have a wonderful day!:waving3:

Good Morning!
Got a call from Mark earlier instead of the morning text during his break at 10. He has a doctor appt. across town and wanted to know if I wanted to ride the bike with him to the appt. and then grab a bite to eat afterwards! Why, YES! Indeed I would! ;)
I took a quick shower and need to get the bed made. I always put the dishes away while the coffee is brewing, so that is done.
I got 8 rows done on the new blanket last night.....too soon to see how the pattern is going to look, however. It takes a little bit to get through one row since it is K3, P3 across. The pattern is Row 1 - Knit, Row 2 - K3, P3, ending with a K3. So, to make sure I am working the correct row, I have a little check sheet that I mark each time I finish a row. But, it is easy enough that I can listen to an audiobook or TV while knitting. I love "killing 2 birds with one stone!" ;)
It is a beautiful day today! 56 this morning. So the bike ride will be great! I have a turtleneck on and will slip a layer over it when we hit the road!
Have a great day!

I agree with the soup making kind of day! It is that here, too! However, DH and I will be going out for a late lunch, so he will be eating the left over cheddar loaves I fixed for supper last night if he wants anything else later today! The Ozempic sure has cut his appetite drastically!
Yes, LOVE listening to audiobooks on car trips, especially when I am by myself! I could listen on our bike trips, but I'm too busy taking pictures to pay attention, LOL!
I hope the doctor's appt is productive for you tomorrow!

Morning, all. We have been having such wonderful weather here... overnight temps in the high 50's, most of the day in the 70's to low-80's and a wonderful cool breeze blowing!!! Been leaving the house opened up all day into late evening! Jim and Alyn are loving it... they couldn't do that at their house in Las Vegas, Nevada as it was too hot day and night. Alyn is loving going out and sitting on the patio in the evenings... while Jim is watching Sunday football games and Monday Night football. Boy, does that bring back wonderful memories of Jim and the football season games we watched when he was at our house.

Must admit that I am being spoilt ... they have been buying groceries and Alyn has been cooking most of the meals plus cleaning up after them. :sparkles1: :cloud9: She doesn't want me "over-doing it" while they are here. Such a sweetheart!!! I did cook French Toast for Sunday morning brunch. And I will be cooking Enchiladas today. Jim will be cooking Salmon tomorrow. Think that most of meals are covered until they leave next Monday. I hate to think of them leaving as it is wonderful having them here. But, I do understand that Alyn is looking forward to going back to PI and seeing her kids and family. Her brother died 2 weeks ago so she wants to spend time with family.

I had planned on running a couple of errands this morning before they got up but decided to wait until tomorrow to do them. Feeling lazy right now. Will be busy getting the Enchiladas Sauce on pretty soon so it can simmer most of the afternoon. The longer it cooks - the more flavorful it is.

I did manage to get the new release LOs uploaded yesterday afternoon while they were grocery shopping. Don't think I will be doing any scrapping until after the kids leave.

@BrightEyes I am so happy that you are having such a good time with your son and daughter-in-law. Your house will be so quiet when they leave. But I know that you will be happy for Alyn to get a chance to see her family as well.

@vickyday sounds like it will be a perfect day for a bike ride. I love that cool air. It was cool enough (86) that I was able to sit out on the lanai at lunch. Since it was covered I didn't get the heat of the sun and the fan was moving the air around. It was nice!

@taxed4ever I do love soup weather. We had the air conditioning going full blast and I made chicken noodle soup...Brian requested it and it's hard to know when we will really have "soup weather".

I did get a call from Mayo this morning. They have scheduled the heart catherization for October 16. That test will be the one where it truly tells if I can get by with having a TAVR or if I will need some type of Open Heart surgery. I'm glad to finally have a date when we will know a little bit more. Of course, I don't know how long it takes for their board of doctors to make a decision on the recommendation.

They scheduled my follow up for 11/15 but I suppose they can move that depending on what they find. Anyway...one step at a time.

Good afternoon.

Our weather is starting to cool down too. It's only 80 today and gets pretty cool at night. I'm loving this change and we're supposed to get some rain which we still need. If we get rain, I'll be out pulling weeds again. The ground is way too hard right now - I got some of them out, but some are too deep. I got my spade out yesterday and may try to dig some of them out. We have that darned wild grass, and it's a PITB.

I just made us a bacon, brie and mango sandwiches on flatbread and then seared it in the pan with olive oil and high heat. They were SO good. It was my take on the same sandwich that they sell at Tropical Smoothie. Chuck's not a fan of mixing flavors, but he loved his sandwich. We pre-fried the bacon so all it had to do was melt the cheese and heat up the mango slices.

I started this post over an hour ago, so I think I'm going to leave it at this today. Happy Tuesday to all of you. Yep, it's Tuesday - I just looked at my phone to be sure.

ANYTHING with bacon just HAS to be good! ;). Sounds like a sandwich I need to try to fix sometime!
