It is a frosty morning here in New Jersey. One "nice" thing about Caitlyn having remote classes is that she doesn't have to use her car and that means *I* get to drive it to pick up my groceries. Her car has a remote start and seat warmers and yes, I am 120% jealous!
Scott and I were complaining about the days being really short and in 6 weeks they will get longer again. Then I will complain about it being cold. ha!! We will also complain about being bored. Without. A. Doubt. I miss being out in the garden, talking to my toad and bug and worm friends. Now I just mutter to myself. I get basically the same response as I did from the critters, nothing intelligible. :D

I did some housework, some crocheting, some puzzle-ing, and some playing with rats while Cait was in between meetings. Today I am getting my groceries and then I am going to start to plastic over the drafty windows. I hope I have enough plastic to do all of the ones that need it.
If I can get my act together, I would like to make some more dog treats, my pups like them better than the Milk-Bone ones. I just wish they didn't take so long to make. Although, it isn't like I don't have enough time on my hands, right?

Scott is on his way down to help my dad with the leaves today. Good thing he doesn't mind the chilly temps. Being in my dad's yard for an hour or so is nothing compared to when he was doing his internship work on the mountain last winter.

Wishing all of you a very happy day!

Kay- what a relief to be feeling better. I very rarely have stomach issues (*knocks wood!!!*) and I honestly don't know how Gary can live with it day in and day out. But even for a few days, it has to be utter misery. You have a fab family bringing you food. It has to be hard knowing you won't be able to see them but thank goodness for Zoom.
What a "welcome" to MO for DD#2. Yikes. I think that tornadoes would freak me out the most out of natural disasters, they can come out of nowhere so quickly. The hurricanes and blizzards we deal with give so much warning/prep time. Good luck to them on buying a house!

Trudy- It must have felt wonderful to see and hear the family on Facetime. And how *terrible* it feels to not be able to hug them. My heart hurts for you. I am thrilled that the kids have swimming as an outlet. Christopher has been busy with baseball the past few months and it has been a godsend for him. He needs the interaction and activity, like all kids.
Enjoy getting your hair done today. I don't even want to think about what mine will look like by the time I get it done.
I know where all of my dust comes from-- 3 dogs in desperate need of baths!

Nancy- hi!! Wow, you have had some crazy happenings in your life. It stinks that your DS is working from home again but I am relieved that he is. It is stunning that the case numbers are back where we were in the spring! I read that Murphy is starting to close things back down again, slowly. I hope it isn't too late. He has been really good at following the science so hopefully, it will be ok.
OMG- mice and rats! Sounds like m,y house! Hehehe! Well, we have mice in the walls and have been trapping them and bringing them back to the woods. The rats- you know where they live! :D
I hope that you are able to relocate them if possible (but I get it if you can't)
It seems like everyone I know has appliances breaking down. Why won't DH look for a new one? The air fryer sounds like it is awesome! I looked it up on Amazon. I wish I had room on my counter for one.

Rae- woo hoo for a good night's sleep!! How is the back feeling today? Thanks for the recipe link! Does D's stomach act up with the spices normally or only when he is having a flare? Still trying to figure out a diabetic/Crohn's friendly diet for Gary.

Kay- I remember Stampin' Up! I never got into stamping as part of my paper scrapping days but I used to see some really cool stamps and designs of theirs.

Betty Jo- I am so sorry to hear about your friend, the sister of your heart. I cannot imagine how hard it is to not be there with her. I am sending good thoughts to her and to you. Please take of yourself too. Are you able to talk to her? I am sure she knows how very much you love her too. ((((((((((hugs))))))))))

Cheryl- the house must really be coming along, I can't imagine how excited you all are!
Thank you for the stitch around the edges suggestion for the scarf. I was thinking about doing that, especially since you can see where the turning chains are uneven in a few places. I am adding a fringe to the bottom too which will hide some of that edge LOL

xoxoxo!

Morning ladies... Grey, foggy and soggy today. This afternoon it will also be very windy!! I should make sure we have some candles ready in case the power goes out. I am off to the hairdresser this morning, but will have a face time with Heather and Hunter first. I miss their faces and haven't talked to them since Friday  It will be good to catch up with them! Looks like it will be a very, very wet Wednesday so not sure I will be hiking tomorrow or not. I am not swimming today either, so I am being very lazy this week LOL. I did manage to get a layout scrapped and another calendar page done too. Woo Hoo I will be done in record time this year. That is one good thing that has happened this year. Sending prayers to all of those in the path of the Hurricane Lota!! Mother Nature is angry this year! I did not end up going anywhere yesterday, so perhaps I will go look for a sweater today after my hair appt. I need to get busy with Christmas gifts soon, go knows how long it will take for things to be delivered this year.

Chris - I hope that your trip to get groceries goes well and how nice to have the heated seats and I am jealous too!! Opps Heather and Hunter are calling, I will be back after my hair appt. gotta run :sorry: :bolt:

Good morning, ladies. Chilly, damp and the wind is starting up. They are predicting high winds later so am trying to get lots of work done in case the power goes out. Please send prayers for my oldest daughter, Krystal's, FIL. He has been a best friend of D's since they were in their 20's. He tested positive, has been in the hospital for 5 days and has continued to deteriorate, yesterday he went onto a ventilator. Hospital said to pray and prepare for the worst. We are trying to be positive and hope he will pull thru.

Not feeling too chatty today so will get back to work.

Chris - mild/med spice doesn't seem to affect D but I don't make anything too spicy or rich for him. Fat seems to bother him more than a bit of spice does and he can't eat a lot of fiber/corn/seeds/nuts. They don't digest well.

Good afternoon, all. Chris, I'm glad you liked my suggestion. I love the idea of fringe, too and used to do that a lot. Your mom will love it no matter what.

We're getting so excited about the house! We saw them take the tile out of the barn this am, so hopefully, they're working on the bathrooms. We'll go up later on after they're all gone and see what they've gotten done.

Kay, so glad that you're feeling better. It's terrible when one's stomach is "off". I've had my share of stomach issues, so I really understand. :(

Trudy, I know you look forward to your FT as I do. I FT or talk every day to my youngest DD who's still in Florida. My GS is usually too busy playing video games to talk, UGH. I hope you get to continue your swimming. What a blessing to you.

I'm wishing everyone a good day. Hugs

Ok back home finally and have gotten supper in the crock pot and banana loafs in the oven. It feels so good to have my hair done again! Had a nice chat with my hairdresser and things have been very busy, but safe at the salon, so hooray! Anyway where was I?
Oh yes... Chris it is so nice that Scott is helping your Dad with all the leaves, it will be good for his soul to know that he is helping and getting in a nice visit with your Dad!

Nancy - It is so funny that I just bought that exact same air fryer toaster oven for Heather for Christmas!! It looks like it will be just the perfect thing for her as her's bit the dust and so I told her that she could have it as an early Christmas gift! Sorry to hear that things are bad again in your area and your Son is now having to work from home again, but at least you know that he is safe! Hope your DH believes you from now on when you say you have seen mice and rats! MEN! LOL

Rae - Oh my goodness what sad news!! I am sending you all the positive thoughts that I can to your oldest Daughter's FIL and of course to your whole family! Dam COVID!! Hope he improves and will beat this! (((hugs)))

Betty Jo - also sending good thoughts your way for your good friend and hope that she is not in too much pain! How terrible for you not to be able to see her! ((((hugs)))

Cheryl - Yes my face time chats are what I live for these days!! It helps my DD out too as I try to keep Hunter busy while she gets their lunch. They are the sunshine in my day!! As are all of our grands!! Woo Hoo on the progress of your house! I am excited to be getting new carpet on my staircase so I can't imagine how excited you must be getting!

Ok ladies my banana loaf needs to come out of the oven. So I will talk with you all tomorrow!

good day - the day sped along as both my husband and son were working from home today. Both of them have their own spaces but I can hear them and feel like I have to be more quiet so I don't interrupt their working. But my son brought me cases of Dr Pepper so I don't complain too much. There was a covid testing site set up in my town and they had to turn people away as they ran out of tests. It seems to me that by this time in the pandemic there should be plenty of tests. Makes me wonder if they can actually get the vaccines distributed in a timely manner. Had a great walk with Luther as we ran into another German shepherd owner. Socially distant of course. It was chilly and windy and grey. Then as soon as we got back the sun came out. What the heck! Made a fun dinner. Used the frier to cook sweet potato fries. The thin ones were done but I think I could have cooked the thicker ones a bit longer. It was so easy and now I know. My son got a new phone and it came with a free year's subscription to Apple+ TV so I started watching The Morning Show. I still hate the easy using of curse words on TV (I think using curse words is an easy way of not finding real words to say) but more interesting is do people really talk like that? The show is good, the acting is really good but the language really turns me off and I know I am super old fashioned. Thanks for all the kind words with my animal problems. LOL.

Chris hope the grocery pick up went well. Glad you find time to do so many different things. I want you to know that we try to catch them humanely and release. That is so nice of Scott to go help his granddad with the leaves.

Trudy sorry about the wet weather. Sorry the hike might be miserable. Glad you got your hair done and it is great when it done. I am sure your FaceTime with the grands are the best!

Rae hope your back is not too bad.

Kay I used to go to Stamp'N Up parties. Spent a lot of money. Gave the stamps to my girlfriend and she sold them on Ebay and I got half the money. They were fun even if I did not have the creative gene. Stay safe in the lockdown.

Betty Jo so sorry about your friend. Sending hugs and prayers. My girlfriend is in SC and if I could I would go visit her. It is hard this time with sick friends so far away.

Cheryl your potato soup sounds yummy and something I could like on a cold day. Glad the cabin got such a great review.

Have a great day all.
