Another day of best-laid plans that went up in smoke on me yesterday... I had it all set in my head, which means I should have known better. :boom:

I had just gotten out of the shower when Cait called Gary to say that her rearview mirror had broken and she wasn't able to drive to school with it like that, banging against the windshield. She got home a couple of minutes later and my dentist was sort of close to her school, I dropped everything and drove her down. Then I had about 30 minutes to kill before my appt so I ran to the Dollar Store and found absolutely nothing that I needed. Fillings went fine, just some small surface ones but I still need one more to go.
By the time I got home, I was starving since I didn't have time to eat before I left but my mouth was still numb so I had to wait. I finished, FWIW, my food shopping list, struggled some more with the scrap page I am working on, and pretty much collapsed after that. ;)

Scott came home from his field trip very excited-- he brought this really cool rock that was layers of granite and an iron-based rock- can't remember the name off the top of my head, but it begins with fer- The layers were really interesting since the iron-based one was rusty. His professor is the one he didn't like in the beginning and was not happy that she would be teaching many of the classes in his major. He really likes her now and gets her style of teaching so I think he is going to be OK. Whew!!

This morning, Cait and I are bringing Muffin to the vet for her surgery. We are both relieved that it is getting taken care of since the lump has started to grow much faster in the last week or so. :(
I will pick up some treats for her when she gets home, I remember that Clover loved the fruit and yogurt baby food that Cait used for mixing in the meds and then as a treat. Uh oh-- I bet that Cait forgot to cook up some of the sweet potatoes for Muffin post-op. Because rats metabolism is so fast, they need to get the anesthesia out quickly and they can't fast before it and need to eat right after. The techs were teasing Cait since they remember last time she had packed more food then the avg person eats for lunch-- sweet potatoes, Cheerios, yogurt, and peas.

So that is it for me-- Muffin, food shopping, and then maybe getting ready to do some F-W's since I didn't get anything done yesterday.

Hi Felis- I love the idea of drinking cappuccino and watching cats be silly :)
I wish that you didn't have to plan and worry but you know that I completely understand. My brain just gets so exhausted from it all which is one reason why I never get anything done.
Don't feel that you have to catch up with me, the last thing that I want to do is cause more stress for anything. Good thoughts are always welcome but no stress is allowed :D
It rained most of the field trip for Scott but he is so used to being outside in all weather when he worked at the Garden Center that he was very prepared and wasn't bothered by it at all.
Yes, pets are very expensive but worth it. I say that as I get ready to pick up joint medicine for Jaida today that is $100/bottle. I don't know if you know this or not but last year J had very extensive knee surgery where they had to screw her kneecap in place and she had bad arthritis in that knee and in the other so she needs to be on Dasaquin for her entire life. $$$!
My Sister in law asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I gave her links to the dog food brand and some of the Indestructible dog toys they like. I can't always spoil them with new toys so I am happy to get them any way I can.

Nancy- good puppy mama! :dogwalk: It was really miserable out in the morning. Scott's car is in the shop so he had mine and I had to take the VUE. I thought that the tires were bad but then I realized that it was right at 32* and the rain must have been freezing as it hit the roads. On my way home the temps rose and my tires were fine. You are one brave woman to go out in that, Luther must have been happy (esp in his warm fur!)
OMG! What an exciting game!! I am happy for you that you stuck with it!! And very funny about your son hearing you yell and turned the TV back on! hahaha!!!!

Jean- I appreciate you and Nancy's good thoughts on my teeth being done but sadly, I still have one more trip to go. I am really glad that I have dental insurance as skimpy as it is.
Bet the pot roast was yummy and I hope that you had leftover to make sandwiches.

Trudy- yay for a wonderful sleep after a fun date night! I follow Diana G on twitter and she tweets out info on Outlander and I get so jealous but I still like to see the actors that play Claire and Jamie. She gets asked that question a lot-- when will the book be done :D
I also follow Deborah Harkness and Discovery of Witches is being made into a TV series now too. How cool!!

Butternut squash would be high in sugar, I am sure. It is often a substitute for pumpkin in recipes. I would guess all of the winter squashes would be out with keto. One of my few things that I like about Autumn is yummy squash being in season.

Rae- it sounds like the switch to Paleo is going fantastic!! Good for you. Your salmon burger sounds so delish.
You are hereby crowned the "Shopping Queen." :drama: Such amazing deals. MIL gave me one of those necklaces but it is silver filigree and not really my style. But now you have me wondering if I can turn it into a keychain or something I can hang in my car?
I went to the thrift store yesterday looking for mason jars and found a sweet little black dress in a size small, thought it would be good for Caitlyn. Sent her a picture and she loved it so I am planning on going back to get it for Xmas. My thrift store is really shabby but this was in good condition. I have to see how $$ it is too.

LOL at Taz. My Harley did that too-- grabbed a mouthful of kibble, walked around the room, dropped it and at it wherever she wanted to. I have a pic somewhere of her surrounded by kibble. And the leaves-- they stick to W's fur and she loves to roll around inside and still has them cling to her. Dogs!! ha!!!

better get in the shower and get ready for my day. Love to all!

My mom is friend with the woman from post office and she is give her one catalog with Christmas cards. They are so lovely, even too expensive for us. I think that the Christmas mood start earlier every year, till we don't have Thanksgiving, so the stores already start prepare for Christmas. Today is sunny but cold, so is easy to feel the winter coming. The colors finally are autumn, but not for a long with this wind, which soon will made the landscape winter. Strange but the grass is still green. I have long to do list today, but until noon I'm not started yet. I'm so distracted today, so better go now. But before that Let's try something more festive, will share with you this card with scene of traditional Christmas day, when the rituals was the most important thing on the holiday.

Chris, hope everything will be fine with Muffin! Sending good vibes to her! So great about Scott's professor and the new situation. And good that the rain is not spoil the fun. I didn't know for J. She looks is doing so well now! I'm away from the idea to complain (hope it's not looks this way), I guess people who have humans kids goes thru the same. Eh, not exactly the same, but the bills and all worries. My thought was just, that here have more than one alternative for the winter months than the Frontline :) .

Rae, this pendant sounds very cool, I love things like that! The other purchases also sound good, you're amazing! Great that the side effects of switching is over and hope you'll receive the results you need. What about the avocado and reduce cholesterol, do you plan to give it chance?! To be honest I'm not big fan of the avocado.

Trudy, the new album of Taylor Swift is not bad at all. I listen up the whole albums at musicmp3.ru, and then can buy only the tracks which I want most for my phone. I'm happy to not have any other interactive devices, except the cell phone. . I'm not read the book yet, neither the movie, but my family likes Johnny Depp, so we will do it. It was like a spectacle when the train pass here this year. But I think it's very rude for the people which are paid for this so expensive travel, when all viewers on the stations peek inside like in aquarium.

Jean, my family eat really low quantity of salt, my aunt always ask for extra when diner with us :becky: . But some time ago I tried to cut down the sugar (and totally failed), so I can imagine what challenge this is. About the pets, yes it's expensive, but I could to assure you that it is totally worth it for me! They gives me so much more!

Nancy, I'm with Rae, I don't know anything about the sports but I love to listen you how fun you have. I love the dog walks at cold, but not in muddy rain. Poor rabbit this is been much stress for it, but I bet Luther is got more fun to made your men try stop him.

Hope all have sunny and happy day!

PS. There have something that doesn't let me in peace the whole day , about all your comments from yesterday. Don't be afraid to adopt another pet! The number of pets won't affect much of the budget. Amount for 2 is near to this for 5 cats, because the big package of food and cat toilet haves almost every time discounts than these for 1 cat. I do have financial issues, but this isn't because of the number of my cats. Some of you may be remembered that when I join in this chat I had few free weeks. In my country is normal boss to told you: "I don't need you next week", and you should stay without payment for this time. So thats it. Dont be afraid to love, it always have solution, when you want to give better chance to someone!

good morning my DH has not yet left for work so I have not gotten Luther out for his walk but I will after he leaves. Luther just does not like it if they leave and he does not see it. I talked to my son as it was his birthday yesterday and asked how the chip challenge went. Well he did not lose amongst his friends as one of the girls gave in first but I think he was second to drink milk. He sent me photos and a video. I posted them to instagram if you all want to check it out. Got a lot of scrapping done so that was fun. Today my son and I are going to the Devils fan club meeting to hear one of the players Travis Zajac talk.

Chris glad you did well at the dentist sorry you have to go back but for one tooth that will not be so bad. That was sweet to take Cait to school and hope the mirror is fixed. My DH and I took a geology of the National Parks and I loved that class. We went on a field trip with them and in Wisconsin they showed us a river bed on its side as a cliff now. I love geology! I am not surprised that Scott had a good time.

Trudy I am so bad - obsessed with Outlander that at midnight Sat I watch the new Outlander episode on my iPad with the Starzs app. Then I watch it again with my son on the big TV. They are doing a good job. I am like the actress they have playing Marsali. She looks so much like her mother. I love Agatha Christie and I have read and watched the original movie but I think this new one will be good too.

Rae so glad you are doing so well with food and not gaining. And yes it is fun to see our doggies so happy!

Felis those cards are really amazing! But it does seem too early to have Christmas stuff up. Don't worry about not understanding hockey. I love sports I think because there are rules and for the most part it is fair.

Jean I made a great dinner that was too spicy for my DH - felt bad. Your pot roast sounds amazing. Are you counting the days to spring training or are you still into football?

Have a great day all!

Morning everyone! It is pouring :rain: here today. Not much going on except swimming my laps a bit later on this morning. DH is home today with a really bad cold. Yes the dreaded Man Cold LOL so he is still in bed and resting. DD txt me early this morning saying that ToysRus had fingerlings , but nope I could not get them at any of their stores. :mmph: not sure what she was seeing on her end, or perhaps I just missed out because of the time change of 3 hrs. So the search continues.

Chris - You and I are having the same trouble doing any scrapping, I did not even get started on my last calendar page yesterday, seems I wandered around the house in circles and and only got a bit of painting done on my nativity project. LOL when DH is home it seems all I do is make meals and clean up afterwards. Really I know that more happens, but sometimes it just seems like I do is spend time in the kitchen. Hope that little Muffin gets through her surgery just fine and that you are able to get your treats ready and your FW's stuff all done today! Good luck with your scrapping too, I feel your pain about it, I am in the same boat :boat:

Felis - Those cards are just beautiful! I bet that they do cost a fortune! Our stores start to put out Christmas items right after Halloween, too darn early for sure! I hope that you are able to get your to do list done, some days it is hard to concentrate on things that need to be done. Hope that you found some good songs to download to your iPhone!

Nancy - I have to go to the gallery and check out your pages, you always do such an amazing job of them. I totally understand the obsession with Outlander, I sometimes watch the episodes more than once also, it is such a great show and they are doing such a great job of following the books! Yes the character of Marsali is very good and I look forward to seeing much more of her! Hope you and Luther enjoy a great walk this morning!

Rae - How nice that you are transitioning over to Paleo so easily! Hopefully you continue to enjoy it! Sounds like you had a great day at the Christmas Craft Fair! You truly are the Queen of Shopping! Honestly I do not know where you find the time to read as much as you do! I don't work and I don't seem to have any time to even start reading a novel. But I think that if the new Outlander novel came out I would find the time :becky: If you could look for those dam fingerlings for me that would be so awesome!! I would need 3 and not fussy about which ones, they will have to get what they get right? LOL!!

:hello: Jean I hope you are having a wonderful day!

Ok ladies I have to get going to the pool, but first I have to check out how DH is feeling and take care of the MAN COLD! LOL Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Good morning, ladies. Looking forward to the short work week (only 4 days). Yesterday didn't go quite as planned. I was going to sit down and scrap for a few hours in the afternoon, when our neighbor knocked at our door. He noticed the gutter hanging off the edge of the roof and if it fell it could damage one of our cars or the neighbor's car. So D and I got our rain gear on and headed out to see what could be done. D has a hard time with heights now (as do I) so we were both worried about him climbing up a tall ladder to the roof to try to fix this. Luckily our neighbor offered to do it. So, it took a few hours to get everything done but it is secure and safe now. We've talked about it and agree that although we don't like the higher cost, it would be a good idea to get the new gutters that don't get clogged up. So hopefully in the spring this will get done.

I've done some desk work this morning and now am enjoying a break while I wait for more files to come. I've gotten laundry done and de-fuzzed a couple of sweaters. I like being more productive in the morning.

It's raining today so I'm in my sweats, t-shirt and sweater and will be staying indoors. Taz goes to daycare tomorrow and seems tired after our 3 day wkend together (we always play more and go for longer walks on my days off) so I think he'll be happy to just stay in. He's been napping ever since we got up except for 5 minutes to eat LOL. For such an active dog he sure can be a lazy dog sometimes and nap for hours.

Chris - hope Muffin comes thru surgery with flying colors. As for the necklace, yes, you can put your oils on it and hang it in your car as an air freshener. I am amazed that my car freshener retains the scent for quite a few days. I try to put a few drops on it every week.

Felis - those cards are lovely. Thx for asking about my diet, it is going well and the changes in food has been very easy. As for reducing sugar, all I can say is that if you stop eating it, your body seems to adjust and you lose the cravings for it. That's how I find it and I hear many others say the same.

Trudy - I'll keep my eyes open for the fingerlings for you. As for reading, I read every morning when I wake up, usually about 30-40 minutes and occasionally for a few minutes at lunch time. Then on days off, I generally read for a few hours. Later in the day, I'm more into the tv and scrapping. I find it a good balance.

Nancy - enjoy the fan club mtg with your son today.

I'm getting back to work now for a bit and am looking forward to a relaxed lunch break and maybe working on a page. There are so many gorgeous goodies in the store, I'm dying to work with some of them.

Have a great day, everyone.

Good afternoon, Ozzies. Another gray day here but not so cold. Yesterday I was excited to see two juncos under our thistle feeder. One reason we have it is to attract them. (They are a kind of sparrow, feed on the ground, are dark gray above and white below and one nickname for them is snowbird as they only come south in the winter.) I'm giving two talks at our computer genealogy group on Saturday, so the remaining days until then need to focus on finalizing them and doing a handout. Right now DH is trying out the collecting bag on the lawn mower to see if that works for collecting leaves.

Chris, hope Muffin is home and well from surgery. Cait will be much happier with that over. Scott's geology experience is turning out well. Anything that leaves him excited from a class is going to be good. Not to mention now understanding the teacher better. Hope you got some of the rest of your errands and objectives done.

Felis, that is such a lovely card. I'm afraid living like that is very much in the past though. I hate the early displays for the seasons, but I know I used to look forward to getting mail in August with new Christmas card designs from a wildlife company. I don't send many any more, but did buy a box earlier this year from them. Hope you too got the desired things done today.

Nancy, hope you and Luther got in a good walk. I know you'll enjoy the fan club time with DS. Poor DH that the dinner was too spicy for him. I know you can't change it once it gets too hot. Did he eat something else? Did you like it? We very much like spicy food, but even I can find some food too much.

Trudy, sure hope DH doesn't suffer long from that cold. I seem to remember he doesn't do ailing patient well. Just don't catch it from him! Hope you get to work on the calendar page, but it may be hard to concentrate. Hang in there! :hang in:

Rae, if you're not quite as busy this 4-day week, I bet you'll feel great and get lots of other things accomplished. Hope Taz stores up his energy and has a great day playing tomorrow.

Sun is trying to come through here, hope it shines on all of you.

Hey Trudy do you mean those little monkeys? I saw a bunch of them at Mastermind Toys if that helps you at all.
