Another day of best-laid plans that went up in smoke on me yesterday... I had it all set in my head, which means I should have known better. :boom:
I had just gotten out of the shower when Cait called Gary to say that her rearview mirror had broken and she wasn't able to drive to school with it like that, banging against the windshield. She got home a couple of minutes later and my dentist was sort of close to her school, I dropped everything and drove her down. Then I had about 30 minutes to kill before my appt so I ran to the Dollar Store and found absolutely nothing that I needed. Fillings went fine, just some small surface ones but I still need one more to go.
By the time I got home, I was starving since I didn't have time to eat before I left but my mouth was still numb so I had to wait. I finished, FWIW, my food shopping list, struggled some more with the scrap page I am working on, and pretty much collapsed after that.
Scott came home from his field trip very excited-- he brought this really cool rock that was layers of granite and an iron-based rock- can't remember the name off the top of my head, but it begins with fer- The layers were really interesting since the iron-based one was rusty. His professor is the one he didn't like in the beginning and was not happy that she would be teaching many of the classes in his major. He really likes her now and gets her style of teaching so I think he is going to be OK. Whew!!
This morning, Cait and I are bringing Muffin to the vet for her surgery. We are both relieved that it is getting taken care of since the lump has started to grow much faster in the last week or so.
I will pick up some treats for her when she gets home, I remember that Clover loved the fruit and yogurt baby food that Cait used for mixing in the meds and then as a treat. Uh oh-- I bet that Cait forgot to cook up some of the sweet potatoes for Muffin post-op. Because rats metabolism is so fast, they need to get the anesthesia out quickly and they can't fast before it and need to eat right after. The techs were teasing Cait since they remember last time she had packed more food then the avg person eats for lunch-- sweet potatoes, Cheerios, yogurt, and peas.
So that is it for me-- Muffin, food shopping, and then maybe getting ready to do some F-W's since I didn't get anything done yesterday.
