Hello, O-Fam, and how are you today? :D

The last two nights I slept well so thankfully I am not as tired as I was a few days ago. It felt nice to have a quieter day yesterday. The timing was perfect too. Mid-day, I got the link to the first part of my CPR AED training. You watch videos and answer questions to learn the background info before you do the hands-on part. I was able to finish that before I went to Scott and Sam's. I'm so glad that section is out of the way.
We finished the initial part of the party favors *somehow.* Sam has a Cricut and we are making wineglasses with a saying on them: "She found her Boo." There are a couple of bats and the last O in boo is a wedding ring. The wrinkle in this project is that the vinyl we picked out was glittery so the plastic sheet the vinyl should have attached to wasn't sticking. Long story and more than a few curses short- we had to peel each letter and place them on the glass individually. They look very much handmade ("made with love" as Sam kept saying) but it was the only way to do it.
At least I had a wonderful time hanging out with the two of them. They make me so happy - too darn cute together.

My dad's surgery is today and I hope that goes well. Any good thoughts for him would be very much appreciated. I spoke to him and my mom yesterday and sheesh- they are struggling.
I have to clean for my fiend today and yoga is also on my to-do list. (LOL at myself- I typed fiend instead of friend but he would love that so I am leaving it. This guy collects medieval weaponry and more than once I have knocked a sword or axe off of the wall missing my toes by inches. --for real! :grimreaper: )

hope you are having a fantastic day!

@MariJ All I wanted as a girl was to have a Dorothy Hamill haircut :crying1:
It does not work with curly hair no matter how much I insisted it would.
I am not surprised the beach was packed! I heard that Wawayanda State Park filled up quickly too- I am about 10 minutes from there and they have a cute little beach on the lake.

@vickyday I hope you have sunshine today, it looks amazing outside in NJ.
For her first birthday I made Caitlyn an angel costume and then she wore it for Halloween the month after. She had white feather wings and the little floral crown. i used a photo of it to make the invitations:

Poor Asher, J is the same with the T-storms and the fireworks that were going off Sat/Sun nights :(

@bitzee Thank you about the curls. I hate 'em LOL!

@taxed4ever :woohoo: Awesome news about the computer and the monitor!!! I hope you get a chance to play around with it but I can tell you will be busy with the ILs' move. It's almost over and what a sigh of relief you and Linda will share when you are done.
Congrats to your brother and SIl-- 50 years is a huge milestone! ♥

@AK_Tracy Tom is a *huge* horror movie fan and we've watched a bunch of old-school movies with him and Caitlyn. It's funny to watch them now (Nightmare on Elm Street terrified me way back when) and see they are kinda cheesy. LOL
Caitlyn found the horror-themed cookbook on Amazon a couple of years ago and was going to get it for him. When she noticed it was vegan, she was practically dancing around and couldn't wait to give it to him. Each meal is linked to a movie and has decor and drink suggestions to match. Everything they have cooked from it has been really good and breaks the stereotype of vegan food being healthy haha!
LOL-ing at the birds singing before 7. I hear tufted titmouse all morning long. I never see them but Merlin IDs them forme. I know they are small birds but they are *loud.* Sort of like me, small but loud.
I hope the weather clears up soon so you can enjoy the few minutes of "summer" you get up there.

@BrightEyes I hope you have pencils ready at every cassette player for the inevitable tape rewinding.
Your house and garage must look open and fresh after decluttering. WTG!!!
Glad that you are listening to Momma Chris and letting Chari do the lifting.

Hugs to you all!

@faerywings made with love are the best kind of gifts. I'm headed to the garden soon, I'll send up prayers for your dad. the butterfly arrived at the gala ;)

My cousin's Celebration of Life on Saturday was beautiful, the weather while sunny, was horribly windy and the temp was dropping. It was outdoors in what is the hockey rink in the winter so the sides were open. Her 6 kids absolutely adored her and rightly so and they created something very special with all of the attention to detail, it felt like a wedding reception. Her daughter, the one who coined me Mom's Colorful Cousin came hurrying over to hug me when we got there and told me how much her mom loved me and talked about me a lot, a couple of the other kids said the same, it gave me a sense of peace. A lot of my cousins were there so it was good to see them. There was supposed to be dancing until 9 pm, but everyone was getting cold as the temp continued to drop so it ended early for us. At least on the way home, we did not have to move like centipedes through Twin Cities traffic during rush hour on Memorial Day weekend. Sunday night we went out to my friend's home, her husband is actually Hub's nephew, and had supper with him and a few other close friends. It was the first anniversary of her passing. It was nice just to get together and remember. Yesterday we went to the Memorial Day program, a small ceremony at the town bridge to place a wreath, and then out to the cemetery. My dad was a veteran as were most of my relatives and we were raised God, country, and family, so Memorial Day is a biggie for me, that's when I miss my Pops the most. I spent some time in the garden between rain showers and then scrapped while it was raining. I got the proof for my cousin's garden stone and am so excited because it so captures her essence. I was afraid they wouldn't be able to use the picture I really loved, it wasn't high contrast and the finish line was partially obstructed by a tree, but they did an incredible job. I just have to share a picture of it.

Not sure why I woke up at 6AM this morning. Could be because the sun has moved further north so it is hitting the patio & lighting up the ceiling there and shining in a crack in edge of the blind on the patio door in the master bedroom, No clouds so it is really bright reddish-orange!!! We are in for some hot weather the rest of the week - 89 to mid-90's!!! That is about 10 degrees above normal for the season. Guess the A/C will be get a work out this week. Time to put on shorts!!! Will get the last 2 loads of laundry done early as the electric company is urging everyone to use electricity early in the day to avoid the high demand hours in the afternoon/evening. So the house is opened up to the cool breezes (62*) for awhile. Will be having high winds again for the next several days which is not good with the 3 fires that are burning in the state. None are close to me so not having to deal with the smoke from them.

I did manage to get 3 LOs done in the afternoon!!! dance3 :cool:dance4 Don't feel too far behind the curve now. Color Play is coming on Friday through the weekend. Lots of goodies and love the colors.

@faerywings sending healing thoughts for your dad. My hubby had bladder cancer and had the radiation infusion in the bladder treatment. He was able to come home later the same day. Hope all goes well with your dad's treatment. Just watch out for those swords and other sharp instruments when cleaning for your friend. I remember some of your 'close calls' with them.

@JeanneMN what a lovely headstone. Sounds like a wonderful celebration of live... too bad it got too cold to stay longer.

@Cherylndesigns been thinking of you alot this week. Yes,, milestone days are hard... especially during the first year. :hug2: So glad you have the family nearby to be with you. DD#2 (in Branson, MO) said they spend a night in the basement shelter due to the tornado sirens going off a few nights ago. I was worried about you so was glad you posted that morning that you were okay. Seems like tornado season is off to an early start this year.

Need to swap clothes from washer to dryer and put another load on. Will get the bed made then get my shower. Have a couple of errands to run before it gets too hot. HAGD

Quick in and out for me,
This is the week before my kids arrive on Friday/Saturday for our summer get-together, so I'm going to be busy, busy in prep work!
My tummy is still messed up, but I may have figured it out. More later.......
I walked a mile this morning before I gave up and came back home.
I have a grocery order placed for pick up later.
I need to do some laundry.
No lunch with Mark today as my tummy wouldn't be able to handle it. I did eat some yogurt earlier.
Scrambled eggs and bacon are planned for supper, whether I can eat or not will be another thing, LOL!
Have a great day!
@faerywings it is a mix of clouds and sun here today. There was a great breeze while I was walking!

Morning ladies... it is a rainy grey day here and I don't have to make the trip to the In-Laws today after all. I get a day off as they have gotten a lot accomplished and then Linda and I pretty much got most of the kitchen packed up, except for a few things that they need for the next two days. We will go back on Wednesday morning, (so no hike for me again :sad2:). It will be the last day of packing and then the In-Law's go to Linda's to stay until they can get into their new place. So I will be very busy again until the unpacking is finally done. I will enjoy my day off and try to get some scrapping done, but we will see, something always seems to happen to keep me from opening up photoshop. I had a nice face time with Heather before leaving the house yesterday, they had their huge community garage sale and it went very well! They made over $800, so they are putting it away and will use it to go on some kind of a family vacation with the boys this summer. Looks like no one will be coming home this summer, that makes me sad but knowing that we will all be together this Christmas helps a bit. Anyway I have to clean the bathrooms today and that is my only job to do, l am looking forward to a day of quiet, me time!!

@faerywings - How great that you got to spend time with Sam creating together! I bet the glasses look great! Sending lots of good vibes to your Dad today as he goes through his surgery! My In-Laws have been at each others throats lately and have spent a few days without talking to each other, this move is very stressful for them and FIL keeps making plans for this and that and then changes his mind. His mind is going at 100 mph, it will be good to get him settled in and take a few deep breaths and just relax a bit, before MIL kills him :killer:. Love that photo of Caitlyn what a sweet little angel she is!!:loveangel:

@JeanneMN - What a wonderful celebration of life for your cousin! Too bad that it got to cold to stay any longer. That headstone is just amazing! A great tribute to a great lady!!

@BrightEyes - Sounds like your weather is turning quite warm! Yes time to break out the shorts! Nice that you got some scrapping done, I hope to do the same today, but need to get into the shower and dressed first LOL.

@vickyday - Ohhh I hope you have figured out what is the cause of your tummy issues!! You will be one busy lady getting ready for the summer get together, but how nice that you will have your family home with you! I am jealous!!

Ok I better get busy and get in the shower:showering:or the day will fly by and I won't have gotten a thing done. Have a great day everyone! :cowwaving:

HAHAHA I had that cut! For years!!!!! I think my mom loved it cause she didn't have to do my hair. I had curls until about 4 and then it was so straight yet would hold a curl from curling iron until I washed it out. Now, since about 40 its started to go back to curls. Its crazy hair to match my crazy.
I just have to share a picture of it.

Good afternoon, Oozies,

I'm still here, I laid down on the couch to watch the weather reports and didn't wake up until 3:30. I must have been exhausted. It was a busy and eventful weekend, Steph and Asher left about 9 this morning, and I crashed. I have to tie up a few things, then will hopefully be back for personals later. Hugs

And I am so sorry that your family will not be with you this summer. That will make the Christmas gathering so much the sweeter!
I'm not so sure I have found out what ails my tummy. One says no chicory/Inulin.......one says yes! I will contact my doctor and see what she says about it.

Hi Everyone! The weekend here was busy busy busy, and yesterday and today spent time getting re-organized, cleaning the house, getting re-centered and catching up on Cheery-O stuff. We spent all weekend trying to stabilize Mark's blood sugars. He had multiple lows each day, so much so he stopped taking his insulin. He felt terrible, wasn't sleeping, and ate things he wouldn't be to get his blood sugar up. The doctor called first thing this morning and now we have a plan. Mark feels much better today and tomorrow we start a new insulin regime. While he rested today I quietly got stuff done around the house.

@JeanneMN The memorial stone is so beautiful! It's so wonderful that technology today allows that detail to really shine on the memorial stone for all to see. :beatingheart: I'm glad you found some peace through Sandy's Celebration of Life. I love that you were all dancing even though it was cut short. It sounds Sandy would have enjoyed that.

@vickyday I'm sorry you're still having tummy trouble! Hopefully you can get it resolved quickly!

@Cherylndesigns It sounds like your weekend with your family was wonderful and the rest is well deserved!

@faerywings how did your dad do with his surgery? How's everyone holding up? The pictures of you and your daughter with the curls are adorable.

@BrightEyes I hope you don't blow away in all that wind!!
