Yay me!! I got everything done on my list yesterday *and* I got to spend time outside. The cherry on top of the day was that I delegated. That's something I never do, to the complete frustration of my family. Sure, all I did was ask Gary to deal with the septic company and the town but it's a start, right?
After I got all of the inside stuff done, I grabbed a quick lunch and then went outside. Mostly I weeded and clipped the grass back on the edges of the property. My irises have bloomed and they look awesome. They came with the house and over the years, I have split them and moved them to some new spots on the opposite side of the yard. The tall purple blooms look so nice against the small white flowers of the lilies of the valley.
Still no sign of Tif so I think he is gone. RIP. I'm going to keep my eyes open for the other patio toad (pati-toad?? :giggle4: ) and see if we can be friends. He likes to hang out under the garbage cans so I'll talk to him there.

Today I am going to help Cait get the family room set up for Scott's surprise get-together. Gary's computer and "work" area is in the back of the room and over the years, it became a dumping ground for him. It was an absolute *mess* and the kids had been on his case forever to tidy it up so they could use it. He did an incredible job last week and we can see the floor again! We have a small 4' long pool table up there that the kids loved playing on when they were small. We broke out the pool sticks this past weekend and I won two games against Gary yesterday!! Woo hoo!
Now--- before you think I am some pool shark (is that the right term? Card shark, yes? Pool shark doesn't sound right), I only "won" because Gary got the 8 ball in by accident, not because of any skill of my own. Cuz I have none. :rotfl:
I have to finish my food shopping order and some scrapping too. And that's it from Faery Town.

Tip for Tuesday
I mentioned it yesterday to Vicky, but don't do any online shopping without using the Honey app/extension
Some other shopping sites I use are Microsoft Cashback, Fetch, and MyPoints Magic Receipts where you scan grocery receipts and get points for everyday shopping. It adds up!

Have a fab day!

@Cherylndesigns Hahahaha!! You will never have a 100% chill day, not with the human and furry family you have. :D
I bet the house and gardens are lookin' good! Good luck with the tomatoes and beans. I was so busy keeping an eye on my tomatoes during the freeze last week, I don't even remember what my basil looks like now.
Braden is such the perfect fit in your family- he exemplifies the best of all of you ♥
Good luck and good job vibes to Steph. That's fab that Adrienne is able to point her in the right direction.

@bcgal00 How was your day with Remi? And how has my man Taz been doing?
That's funny about the pink, I can totally see you in purple, but I wouldn't have thought pink. So funny how we make up preconceived notions about each other. I remember when one of the designers here did a video tutorial and her voice was the complete opposite of how she sounded in my own mind

@Nonni F Thank you for not sharing the horror flick versions of the birds. :D Last week on our hike, Gary and I walked right up to a full skeleton of what we thought was a possum. I only saw it for a split second before it registered and had to pull J away from it. But then, I wanted to go back and get pics of it to show Scott. It's a struggle LOL!
You are 100% badass to me.
Seriously-- rats really give you the willies that much? Even Caitlyn's? They are the cutest things. Yesterday I hid Cheerios all over their cage for them to look for. Took them a while to get some of them but by the end of the day they found and ate them all.

@vickyday Wow! How are you feeling after moving all of the furniture? Hope not too stiff. MY mom used to do that here before we got he addition. My kids shared a small bedroom and when she came up to babysit, she would try out "new arrangements." They never worked on a practical level so we would let her do her thing, and then change it back after she left. Hahah!

Time to get my day started, have fun!!

I'm a bit stiff today, but not like I thought I would be. It will probably hit more tomorrow! Today I will have to put the "extra" stuff away. I had to remove the stuff on the wall where I moved the entertainment center to. I have an open wall now, but with getting ready for the family gathering this weekend I will not mess with that this week. I didn't think to take "before" pictures of the living room. Moving the entertainment center to the end seems to have "opened up" the rest of the space. I like it so much better!

Good for you getting your to-do list done yesterday so you could "play" outside!
Pool shark sounds good to me! We had a pool table growing up....a regular sized one. We loved playing! I'm not great but I can hold my own when playing!
I haven't gotten Honey yet (I don't do a lot of online shopping) but I have had Fetch for about a year! I've gotten $40 in restaurant credits! Exciting! I'll have to check out the others.

Good morning!
Yesterday was a productive day. I rearranged and cleaned the living room! I'm a bit sore today, but not like I would have been if I had not let Mark help me with the big Entertainment center! It has 5 pieces and wasn't too heavy after I emptied the shelves. I didn't get in bed until 2:45 this morning. I don't even remember Mark kissing me goodbye and I didn't wake up until 9:15!
Mark and I went to lunch yesterday and shared a meal. If he eats too many carbs for lunch he drags all afternoon. And I only eat half of my order anyway, so it was perfect. He wants to go again today so I need to finish this up so I can get ready to go.
No other plans for today except to put the rest of the house back in order from my moving yesterday. I have stuff to store away for awhile until I can get it back on the wall. It will go onto a new wall since I had to move it because of moving the entertainment center.
Anywho.....have a great day!

Morning ladies and Happy Tuesday!! I was MIA yesterday as it was a long weekend for us and we spent every minute of it doing yard work and pulling weeds. I have so many mosquito bites on my body, its hard to find a spot that isn't itchy! :flyswatter: LOL I was wondering if I would ever need to use that emoji. So I have been applying lots of after bite to my entire body. I got most of the the bites while we were putting the new mulch on the flower beds and I was helping DH put down the drip system, so I had to crawl behind some of the big bushes to do that. Of course it was stinking hot and I was wearing shorts, silly me! I did manage to get the house cleaned :vacuuming: with the new central vac. Which BTW has terrific suction!! Also got the laundry all done :laundry: and made some breakfast muffins for DH to have in the mornings. So this morning it is much cooler outside, but still a nice day, I will be going for a kayak with SIL Linda very soon. The lake is like glass in the morning, so it is the best time to be out there.

@faerywings - So glad that you got all your to do list checked off! That is what I have to do before I spend time outside, get all the inside stuff taken care of first. The reward of being out in the yard is worth it! Except for the dam mosquitos!! I need to remember the Deep Woods Off!! Normally we hardly ever see mosquitos, but they are hiding out there in the taller grass and the bushes that is for sure! That will be so nice to have that room all de-cluttered for Scott's surprise get together! Fun to play with the pool table again and Yay you for winning! I use that Honey app when I shop on-line too, that one or Coupert is also a good one.

@vickyday - Sounds like you have been very busy re-arranging and moving furniture! I bet you are a bit more stiff tomorrow, day 2 after strenuous work, seems like it is that way for me at least . How nice that you and Mark shared a lunch and now you get to go for lunch again today!! Lucky you!

Ok I need to get my morning things done and get ready to go to the Lake. Have a wonderful day everyone! I hope that the sun shines for all of you today .

@faerywings pet rats don't give me the willies at all. Most rats don't. I like rats. I just feel "dirty" if one is hanging out in my yard. Does that make sense? Nothing against the critters... I just think NYC infestation.....

Good morning ladies. Had a busy morning - outside to play with the dogs, fed the birds, emptied out the last suitcase from the trip, sorted thru clothing to donate, created a CT LO and then went out for a few minutes to photograph two of the baby birds poking their beaks out of the birdhouse to get fed. I didn't stay long b/c I don't want to interrupt their feeding time. The other birdhouse may have eggs but not hatched yet. I saw dad bring in a big feather so they are still working on the nest.

Jen and I will head out soon for some shopping time together. She wants t-shirts and I want a basket to put my summer flipflops and pool slip-ons into. We haven't looked thru Winners and Marshalls lately so that'll be fun.

@faerywings Good for you for delegating, I know that is hard for you to do. Yes, I love pink, I have lots of pink tees, jammies and hoodies.

@taxed4ever Sounds like a busy long wkend. I got eaten alive by the mosquitos too over the wkend. I'm taking claritin now to help with the itching.

I need to get ready to go out. HAGD everyone.

Good afternoon, lovelies.

I'm slow starting this am Adrienne and I were gone all day yesterday - got home about 8:30 last night. We walked around Marshall's for over two hours. We have to drive about 40 minutes to get there, so that eats up part of our time. We stopped at Starbucks and got our big shots of caffeine then took off. It wasn't crowded at all, so that was nice. I got a cute pair of tropical looking shorts and found a bright orange shirt to match and got some cute shorts to just throw on. They'll be nice for working in the yard. My Amazon light washed "distressed" shorts arrived yesterday too. They have lots of rips in them. Chuck and Roger will love them. Not. Also got Daisy two chew bones - one is peanut butter infused and they're both rubber - she'll be a long time destroying these. I get her anything else and they're gone in about a half an hour. She didn't know if she liked the one I gave her, at first, then ended up chewing on it for a long time.

Adrienne just called and wants to go get our nails done this afternoon about 4. It's been two weeks already and mine are on the edge of needing tended to. I'm so happy that I broke down and got the gel polish because they still look good after two weeks. In another few days, they won't, however.

Chris @faerywings thank you for your kind words about Braden. He's such a good kid - so sweet and always smiling. He's just so congenial and laid back. We're going to miss all of the work he does around here when he goes off to school in August. He keeps this whole property (well, the part of it we use) mowed - it's a full-time job plus he helps Roger with all sorts of chores. Roger has taught him how to do just about everything - I told him he doesn't know it now, but he's learning things that will come in handy for the rest of his life. He'll be Mr. Fixit like Roger and Chuck. Chuck helped his dad build 3 homes from the ground up so he knows how to do pretty much everything, too. Experience is the best teacher. Ava helps Roger do a lot of things, too. Alyssa isn't interested, so she works as many doubles as she can. She tries to fly under the radar. She's a great cook, though. I told her she should think about going to Culinary School. She's that good. And yes, there's not much down-time for me. LOL Since the weather's gotten nice, I don't have as much scrapping time until nighttime. Good thing I'm a night owl. LOL

Trudy @taxed4ever I hate mosquito bites! You can buy citronella plants - I don't know if they work that well, but I also read that Catnip is a natural mosquito repellant. I have a huge bush of in in my backyard, so I split it and brought half of it to my front garden. So, we'll see. It's really a pretty plant, too. Looks kind of like Lavendar, which is also a repellent and I have that growing in two places in my front garden. Mint also Chris @faerywings - which I have lots of and Basil! Marigolds supposedly do, but I don't have any this year. Cortisone creams is the best thing for bites. I keep mine in the kitchen and everybody who comes in with bites uses it.

I have yacked on way too long. Have a good day all and XOXO to everybody.

I put away the rest of the mess today and have been sitting this afternoon working on the scrapbooks.....my calves are very sore tonight! This, too, shall pass!
