Halfway through March. Let's go go go and get some Spring weather, please! It was brutal yesterday, 21* and the wind made it feel worse. I think we got near 30* in the afternoon but it sure didn't feel much better. I was proud of myself, I got a lot accomplished. I mean, nothing "big" accomplished but stuff. Blood work, FP, got gas (in the car to be clear! ha!) two loads of laundry, and cooked a yummy dinner. aannnnnd.... *drum roll* .... Finished Christopher's album and ordered it! [dancing smilie]So happy that is off of my plate. I think he will like it. Now I have to decide if I keep going. Will he really want another when he is 11?
I asked Caitlyn about the dentist and she said that she liked him and to go anyway. Then she came down a bit later to tell me that she ended up Googling him too, and it was a different guy. The guy that was charged was 61 and the dentist she saw was much younger. That means I need to make an appt soon. Once Scott starts working it might increase our family income and we could lose Medicaid. If that happens, I won't be able to afford a healthcare plan and a dental plan. (for those of you outside of the US, yes it is actually this messed up to get healthcare/insurance here, especially considering that since his job is PT and seasonal, he won't have a salary again in November and he isn't sure if he would be eligible for Unemployment, which means we could be bouncing back and forth for the next year or so)
At any rate, I was thinking I would wait to make an appt after my second dose of the vax, but that might cut it too close to Scott's job beginning.

Today is a really FUN day!!! No. No, it is not. :( Cait and I have to work on her taxes. This week should have been her Spring Break but the college pushed its first day back a week in January and took away Break. The professors pre-recorded their classes so the students can watch whenever they want. They still have assignments and Caitlyn still has her internship, but she has a bit more wiggle room in her schedule so we are jumping on this to deal with the IRS.
And that is about it!

@BrightEyes so happy to hear that the BP is better, hope that the fatigue lessens a bit today too

@bcgal00 Poor Remi and poor you. What a mess all of this is. Is she feeling any better today since you switched her diet? I hope that you are able to get some sleep and that the diet helps her stomach. It has to be a good sign that her energy is still good.
How is your stomach today after eating a donut? Good luck with LR!

@taxed4ever look at you all dressed up for the party!! I guess that is something I am going to need to do today! Always exciting!
Want my two cents on the birthday gift? Get the Silhouette. If your computer crashes/stops running well in the future, you will *always* be able to justify the cost of a new one. A cutting machine, not so much. It's a win-win! LOL
Maybe later in the summer, you can get to see the family. I sure hope so!

BTW- there are a few changes that I hope will stick around Post-COVID. Usually getting blood drawn is a fiasco at Quest/Lab Corp. This was amazing, I was texted a link to check in when I got there so I didn't have to get out of my car. They texted back when I was ready to go in which took less time than me putting my mask on. Walked in, 2 minutes later, I was in the room, another couple of minutes and I was out the door!
The bad news is that even being in Lyme remission for a *year,* my Rheumatoid Factor is still very high and hasn't budged in the last 4 years. Ugh.

@Cherylndesigns Whew, glad that you were not as sore yesterday and hope that you are much better by the time you read this. Lucky you to get the J&J!! Hope you get called in soon!
You crack me up, so excited about the challenge, I am looking forward to the part so much!
OMG look at your Muppets!!!! They must be so adorable play fighting. My two were at it yesterday tugging on a scrap pf toy and neither would give an inch. They got so tired just standing there and pulling, they both ended up giving up and plopping on the floor.

@nancyr That must have been such a wonderful feeling to be able to do something "normal!" Happy birthday to your DS! I loved the idea of mechanic stories- bet it is like going to the hairdresser and asking her to make you look like Jennifer Aniston back in the day :)
I wish I had Showtime (I am guessing that is where Men in Kilts airs, it is where Outlander airs, IIRC?) I am picking up the Season 5 DVD set from the library today so I will get to see some men in kilts too. [eyebrow wiggle smilie]
Good advice to Rae about the breeder

@LSlycord waving hi to you!!

@felis The place where you got the frames doesn't put in the lenses at the same time? That is a pain. Hope it warms up by you soon. The new frames sound adorable, Caitlyn had purple cat-eye frames too. Can't wait to see a picture of you in them!

Hugs!!! HAGD!

@faerywings Nope I bought them at the Guess shop with other clothes, didn't expect to be so difficult. Every optic told me "only with frames from here" and "we also sell this brand why bought it from other where", well maybe because I'm impulsive/stupid.

But I actually jump to share this. I know it's commercial, but still it's so funny!

Morning ladies!! I have to be quick in here this morning! Off to go on a hike very soon with my Brother and SIL, its a beautiful but cool morning and we decided we needed to go, because the rain is starting again soon. It will be nice to catch up with them and they have always had a very small bubble during all of this COVID CRAP! My SIL has had her vaccination and my brother will be next in line for one. So happy that perhaps there will be a light at the end of the tunnel soon. Anyway I won't be here to comment on the Avatar Challenge much, which was posted early. Thats ok though it helped Momma O out ! So if you would not mind Chris, or any of the other CherryO's here to perhaps throw out a few comments on my behalf today?? Thanks so much! I hope to be home later on this afternoon, but not sure I will have time to get in here to catch up. I hope that you all have a lovely day and that the sun comes out for you today! TTYL!!

Morning, gals. Feeling a bit better today - not as tired so thinking the worse is over. Going to get dressed today and go pick up my mail from the neighborhood's boxes. Hate that it is 3 blocks from the house but glad it has locked boxes since I don't always get over there everyday to pick up mail. Not sure that I will do much else today.

Had to do the Birthday Avatar challenge. Purple is one of my favorite colors so had to go with the purple balloons.

Cheryl, so sorry about your fall! Hope that the aches and pains from it go away quickly. Glad to hear you will be getting the vaccine soon.

Chris, hope you can get the dentist appt soon and get it done... just in case Scott's PT job impacts your Medicaid benefits. That poor dentist... glad you found out the BAD one was not the one you are going to see.

Felis, so sorry about the problem finding a place that would add lens to the frames you bought. Had to LOL over your wanting to have a 2nd pair just in case.... I have about 10-12 pair of reading glasses in several different places in the house plus a pair in my purse and a pair out in the car. Some of them were glasses that were given to us after we had our cataract surgeries and I picked up a couple of 5 packs of reading glasses from Sam's Club a few years ago. Mainly have them near the different phones so I have a pair when I need to write something down while on the phone as I only need them when reading/writing.

Good morning ladies. Remi only woke me up once last night but I was awake for quite a bit b/c I don't sleep well anyway and I was probably still worried about her. But, it was more sleep than the night previous. She seems to be doing well. The big test will be when she finishes all the meds this wkend and how she does off them. Then at the end of the month we'll redo stool and blood tests to see how things look. Her energy is really good. She loves to be out in the yard and is racing around, playing with Taz. Fingers crossed that she continues to improve.

Got a reminder from the IRS to get the previous taxes done. Between COVID, my back, Jen moving in...I forgot all about it and D didn't think of it either. So I'll have to work on that over the next wk and get both yrs done so we're all caught up again. It'll be nice to get a bit of return for D (not me, I pay) to help replenish our bank acct again.

I tried to get Remi out onto the street in front of our house...nope...she's in the fearful stage. Was whining and crying to get back in the house so I'll wait a few more days and try again. She is a smart girl. She figured out that she needs to go down the stairs to the basement door to go out for bathroom break but doesn't bark so we don't know LOL. I'm going to get a bell to hang off the doors upstairs and down, so she can tell us. We did that for Taz and it worked great.

@faerywings glad to hear it was another dentist so that you don't have to decide whether to switch or not.
@taxed4ever enjoy the nice day and your hike.
@BrightEyes glad you are continuing to feel better.

I'd better get some desk work done as Remi will be awake soon and we'll be outside for awhile. Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon! It's so much fun to see all of the birthday avatars.

Kay, I'm glad your BP is better! Have they figured out why it spiked?

Chris, congrats on getting the book done and sent off to the printer. Now, WHERE is that WOOHOO emoji????? I'm glad I entertain you - I sit here and laugh when I post some of this silly stuff. Poor Ona has been with me since day 1 and on the old board, I had SO much trouble with everything. I was ready to pull my hair out many nights and we PM'd on FB and talk about patience - that woman has it! She kept telling me that things would get easier when the new board was rolled out and they have! I was almost delirious when I actually moved my challenge to the clean board and it was SO easy!!

I'm so sorry you're having so much trouble with health/dental insurance. Isn't it sad that we have that much trouble? We lost all of our dental insurance with the GM debacle - and we lost a lot of medical, too. Chuck retired from there (salaried) and we thought we were set for life. HA!

Glad you liked the picture of the muppets.

Felis, we can't get lenses put in frames we bought somewhere else either. Not without a fight. I've never even tried doing that. I'm pretty sure that's where the money is - frames! They're ridiculously expensive - especially designer frames. The last frames I got were Anne Klein and of course I didn't even look at the price. I just said "I want those". YIKES were they expensive! This was at the eye doctor.

I'm going to get busy. It's 70 degrees today! I need to get cleaned up, take Daisy for a walk (I'm not sore at all today!), and I really need to run into town to Walgreen's.

Waving to all - have a good day!

We're going out in a few minutes, but just want to tell of the fun we're having. This is day four of having Common Redpolls at our feeders. The first day a few, then at least 7 for two days and today more than 12!! We've not had these "winter finches" in the yard except for one winter very long ago. They are such fun and mixing with goldfinches and house finches plus juncos. The yard is really hopping. To see the beginning of this, here's my redpoll LO:

You all sound like things are getting better in many ways. Please let that continue.

good evening - OMgosh I am so tired of being cold. Today was damp and cloudy and cold. Only good thing was no wind. I did get two things accomplished. I finally got my new glasses. And you are all correct expensive. But I love how much better I see. The frames are the same and of course they have been discontinued. The doctor office staff is going to see if they can get me just the frames so that I can have them for future changes in my lens prescription. And secondly I got my mammogram scheduled. I called today and they had a cancellation and so I go tomorrow morning. But I have not felt at all like cooking. I am lucky as my DH likes to cook so does his own thing. Had a good walk with Luther. I am really liking the show Ted Lasso. My Devils are playing and all I heard the pundits say was my team has lost 11 in row at home. That is not good. Oh well. I still like them.

@faerywings Chris this weather is just horrible. I hear rain and snow on Friday. Once I saw the crocuses I did not want cold weather again. Good luck with the taxes. I don't understand how Scott's working can effect your health coverage. Is he still young enough to be under your coverage? I don't understand how our country can be so far behind in health coverage. great news on getting the book finished and ordered. I think he would miss it if his Aunt did not do a book no matter his age. Maybe next year you can do one on how he has changed in his ten young years.

@taxed4ever Trudy have fun on your hike! It will be good to meet up with family and to fit it in between rain drops.

@bcgal00 Rae it is so good to see such positive notes on Remi. So glad she is having fun with Taz. Maybe a good thing she is a bit careful with the front yard. Hope you sleep better!

@Cherylndesigns have fun walking Daisy. Congrats on getting the challenge done and moved for the party. Glad that the new site is easier for you to navigate. It is cool. But on my screen it I hate that for me the pages are not seen in their entirety unless I click on the page. Hope the trip to Walgreens goes well.

@scrap-genie Jean I love your redpolls. I don't think I ever had them at my feeders. You are so lucky! My birding friend went to Florida and asked but I just was not comfortable with Covid. He found two Cuban birds and he saw the SpaceX launch. I want to travel.

@LSlycord waving hi.

@felis that it so unfair that you cannot get the lenses put in unless you bought the frames. That is what happens in my house with tax preparation. Makes my DH very stressed but then he sends it to our accountant and all is good again.

Waving hi to all!

Hello, girls!
Today was damp and cloudy and cold. (This is my original thought! :)) And wind is so strong! I was listening it to run around and howling as a pack of wolfs. Too cold to be outside, too cold to go anywhere. So I'm refusing to do any tasks which needs to be outside before the Spring.
Oh, I almost done big stupid! I saw on sale wonderful wool yarn and as Cheryl advised me I look only for machine washable kinds. (I already have heavy blanket that is too heavy for our washing machine. Can't see myself hand laundry and dry in flat position whole knitted blanket.) The site was mark it as thick yarn, but fortunately I checked on time the needle size and it is too small. Then I remembered I have yarn from this brand and checked the labels. What unpleasant surprise it's too thin! I have no idea why in this site it is marked for decorative projects, maybe because is washable. It's good that I catched it on time or I would knit this blanket for the rest of my life :) :). Need to find good thick yarn!

My turtles couple are ready and I'll post photos soon! I'm not sure did you made fool of me ;) or you are try to be polite, but WHY no one didn't told me that it's correct Grace Kelly?! I thought that this actress name and the song are called Grace Kenney LOL! However my turtles ended named Grace and Kenny by mistake. ;)

Kay, WOW, 12 pair of reading glasses, that's what people called solid backup plan! I'm impressed! I can't see without glasses, so they are on my face constantly, no chance something to happens with them, so I'm never have second pair before.
Good to hear that your BP is better! Purple is one of my favorite colors too, and love your avi! But still is difficult to me to recognize the people.

Trudy, sounds lovely to hike with your family! Hope you'll not have wind!

Rae, Fingers crossed that Remi continues to improve. I have a good feeling about that! You're doing great with all troubles! I just hope that the owners of her siblings can do the same!

Cheryl, oh, exact! I have these frames from few weeks, and called to few places to ask. I'm just very easy quitter, but looks like they will not be make soon. I find it funny that you aren't able to get appt at your town if you're not cherokee. But how they estimate that, you have to live on special place or what?! I mean you can insist that you are whatever you want! Nice to hear that you aren't feels so sore today! I'm agree Ona is so kind and supportive person, she is helps me numerous times when misunderstood something!

Jean, These are so beautiful birds, and lovely LO!

Nancy, hooray for the new glasses! I'm a little bit (who mislead, I'm a lot) jealous! Good luck with getting your mammogram appt this time!

Chris, I already answered above! Hugs! Will not commenting at all, as I can't understand anything from your healthcare system, just I'll fingers crossed to can get what you needs on time!
