So yesterday we went to the amusement park that is 2.5 hours away. (By Linda S. for those of you who know her.) We left early, got home late, and were exhausted. So I'm catching up now.
Jode - My SIL has been unstable like this for 40 years...nothing will change. LOL We are all done trying to get MIL see it too. Whatever. One more final baseball game with their team tonight and then we won't have to do anything with her until the end of July. yay.
Chris - I can't believe June is almost over. Insane. We have a dumb law that alcohol can't be purchased before noon on Sunday. A year or two ago it got changed to just hard liquor. What the what? I know it's rooted in the church practices, but still...#1 - Wouldn't it make more sense to limit it during the week when more people are out and about and working? #2 - Wine, beer, etc....just as bad!!!, #3 - Just dumb. Mickey lights sound fun!! Sunday shower was fine. No drama. She refused to speak to anyone in the family. I did confirm that she did take down her whole FB page either that or she literally blocked the entire family. (Not just defriended, but blocked.) Oh well. She's a horrible person and I'm sorry to say that her son is a horrible kid...so the less interaction we have with them the better. At some point, you would think her mother would say...Hmmmm...who is the common denominator in all of this? Why does no one at all want to be Tara's friend or Cameron's friend?? And I mean truly...she has a guy friend who is close to her and has been for years. An older gay man who has battled cancer several times. And she has another gal who is divorced twice and foster mom to several kids. That's it. No other friends....I'm dead serious too. There is no one else that does things with her, goes out with her, etc. Anything else comes from the school and sports of the kids. Which is why she has her son in 9 activities for next year. He was bragging about it at the shower. "I'm the most active kid you'll ever meet!" You know why? Because you wouldn't have any friends or anything to do at home and your mom would have no life and can't deal with you at home!!!! *sigh* /rant
Thanks for the tips on the flies. I wonder what works with Mosquitoes! Hateful little creatures!
Nancy - You're making me hungry. We desperately need a new grill, but I can't get DH to commit to one. He is so wishy washy about purchases. Ouch about the bees. Who would have thought they'd build under a pile of leaves?! Oh my goodness with your son! That's a heck of a story. Good thing the stone did not go through his car! We had a woman killed when some teens dropped a cinder block off an interstate overpass bridge and it went through her windshield. I don't recall if they caught them, but I wish they would and do something series. How do you not expect that to hurt someone?? Glad your son is safe though and you got to go back to sleep later!!
Hi Trudy!!! I bet it's crazy having people there when you aren't used to them. We do miss you here. And curse those flies for touching your wine! We found a good gewurztraminer that I really like and I'd be ticked if they took a swan dive into it!
Hi Jane! Sounds like an eventful time for you! Hope the biking trip ends well for him! Enjoy the time together!
We have our last baseball game tonight. They didn't bother making up the rained out games. The last two Tuesdays have been forfeits. Hopefully, they get to play tonight since it's the last game! I think we will switch leagues next year (not the least reason of which is my SIL. I didn't want Ben to be on her bratty kid's team, but I think she specifically requested it. How else would an 8-yo who has never played end up on a team with 9-yos who have been together for two years?). Maybe it will be better.
I'll check in tomorrow, though I do have to work!
Talk to you all later!
