Happy Back to the Real World Post-Holiday Day! I had to set my alarm this morning. Last week, I woke up when the dogs woke me up but I need to get back onto a schedule, FWIW.

I have a busy day today. I am off to go food shopping and perhaps buy some "real food" instead of the junk we have been eating the past few weeks. I need to be back and unpacked so I can help Caitlyn with a phone conference call.
You probably don't remember, but a few years ago, Caitlyn reported a teacher who had been sending inappropriate texts to a couple of her friends. The police were brought in and he was charged with child endangerment and was fired from the school. The other day, Caitlyn got a subpoena as a witness to a hearing. The way I understand it is that it is our State Attorney General's office making the case that he should be stripped of his Teaching Certification.
Based on what I remember of the case that Scott was a witness in that was a criminal trial and was through the County Prosecutor's Office. This is the State, representing the Dept of Education. Maybe he pleaded guilty to the other charges? Hopefully, that part of the case is resolved.
At any rate, Cait has a phone appt with the Deputy AG to go over what she should expect at the hearing. She is really nervous and I think that this will help ease some of the anxiety. Before Scott had to testify, we met with the Prosecutor who went through all of the steps and showed him the courtroom and so on. Since this woman's office in Trenton- about 3 hours from me- they are going to do this over the phone.

She is somewhat regretting making the report, saying that she only wanted him fired but Gary and I tried to tell her that she needed to do this, to help other girls from having to have this happen to them too. Scott is helping her too since he had a similar experience when he helped his friend report that her stepfather was molesting her.
Doing the right thing isn't always easy. But I am proud of them both.

Yesterday was another day of wandering aimlessly through time. I am (very) slowly chipping away at things that need to get done/organized. I guess slowly in the right direction is better than nothing at all.

I wish you all a fun and happy day!
xoxo

Felis- this weather is really crazy- do you normally have snow at this time? All I can say is that even though we have had a bit of snow, it is good that it isn't all piled up and we aren't having a hard time getting around it while the temps are so frigid.
I have some of the same issues with people in my house. I get to a point where I want them gone. That instant. Or if I am out and it is like a switch flips and I need to be home. That instant. I hope that you were able to sleep well last night and are feeling better and less anxious today.

Nancy- Hope that you are feeling better today, my cold never took hold so aside from having a stuffy nose I feel fine. Yes, lots of water/tea. Hope that DH is able to go out with Luther again today so you don't have to breathe this air. It hurts!
Luther is such a good boy! And to make you feel better, we go through similar training issues here too. When the dogs bark, Cait and I know to use the Hush Command while Gary yells at them- which the trainer told us that dogs interpret as barking along with them.

Jean- Hoping that your birding is good in the car and I bet you love those heated seats! I am sending my Ancestry DNA kit in the mail today, I am getting excited to see what it tells me when I get it back. I have been told I am 100% Italian since that is how my family has traced their trees back for generations, but this will tell a much farther back picture I imagine.

Rae..... Oh my, I have no words.:( How long do they expect Bailey to be in the hospital? I am sending you and Jen love and hope and Bailey strength and courage to accept the help that she needs. Please keep us posted on how all of you are doing.

Sharon- you are at 25*??? That is where we should be normally this time of year. That would be like us at -20* or something outrageous! I hope that you are able to stay warm.

Sending extra xoxoxoxoxo since I think you all need them today!!!

We have saying ''The day could be recognised from the morning'', but I hope we have new chance every day. Year began hard, but today is a new day. Positive one after enough sleep. And the day start fabious with using coupon and catched Angie Young sale. so I have 2 new kits just with beginning of the year. Will miss me possibility to scrap every day, but I'm back to the work. And have to start make resolutions and lists. It's windy outside, so no regrets that I'm too busy indoors.

Chris, Sweet brave Caitlyn, I understand why she is nervous, but this must finished fast and she is prevent bigger evil! In the night show that we watch, has catched cases of university teacher which start with text messages, but then he want students girls to pay with sex or no diploma for them. So I'm sure you'll hugs her strong and give her more courage! Go girl!

Morning ladies and a Very Happy New Year to you all!! May 2018 bring wonderful things to each and every one of you! We had a lovely time with Tom and Veronica (my brother and SIL) and actually stayed awake until after midnight! What a surprise for all of us!! LOL We watched the fireworks from their back deck and the moon was shining so beautifully over the river, it was Magical! We played Mexican Train Game, and had lots of laughs. We were served Steak and stuffed mushrooms and I brought a seven layered salad for supper, it was so delicious and so nice to just sit back and relax a bit and not worry about making sure everyone else was taken care of. We talked about how much we miss our kids and grandkids when they leave and they are actually thinking about moving to Australia when Veronica's Mom passes on. That was a shock to hear, but totally understandable! Anyway the house is quiet and filled with little reminders of the wonderful time we had at Christmas this year, it is one for the record books, however we did not take near as many pictures as we should have, so I am hoping that DD has some to send to me. We were too busy having fun with the kids to stop and take photos, darn it anyway!! But I do have some that I will have to start making pages with soon. Every day was filled with activity from making gingerbread houses to swimming at the pool and lots of visits from relatives and friends. Mason loved being outside making a snowman with his cousins and then destroying it and rebuilding again. We had every kind of weather while they were all here, from pouring rain, to beautiful sun and a few very snowy days. We tried to fit in one more visit with Tom and Veronica before the kids left, but that day was very snowy on the drive to their town and we had to turn around and come back home halfway there. A very bad accident just before we turned around and I was not going to risk all of our precious cargo, so we all agreed to head back home. Of course a very sad and busy last day with lots of tears and hugs goodbye, but happy to hear that they all made it home safely and theirs was the one and only flight that was not delayed that day. So now back to reality and the big job of cleaning up and putting away the Christmas clutter. Oh and of course my washing machine has packed it in, but at least it worked up until the day they left. So we will be looking for a new set this weekend. It never ends does it! Oh and our car goes in to the body shop today for $1500 worth of repair from the the hit and run. Actually the person who hit us reported it, so hooray we will not have to put out the $500 for the insurance. It has restored my faith in humanity after all.

Chris - You have two amazing kids, doing the right thing for all the right reasons! They are so brave to report these incidents, we have to stop letting horrible people get away with these despicable things!! Hope that you manage to get all your real food purchased today, it is time to get rid of all the junk in our house again too! I had some very bad cheat days over Christmas, but somehow I managed to take off 5 more pounds LOL. Guess it was all the running around after a 4 year old that I was doing. That along with the fact that I had a very bad cold that started Christmas Eve and turned into some horrible swollen glands and very sore throat on Christmas Day. It figures there always has to be someone who is not well at Christmas in our family! I am just glad that it wasn't anyone else. MIL was a rock star and got all the veggies ready for dinner for me so that I could go lay down for an hour or so in the afternoon. It was very much appreciated!

Felis - How wonderful that you are approaching the new year with such a positive attitude! We watched our Prime Minister being interviewed on New Year's Day and thought he did such a great job of speaking and has such a wonderful outlook on life, so totally opposite of Donald Trump! Rolling Stone magazine even had a headline with our Prime Minister on the front cover of their magazine that read... Why can't he be our President?? LOL. A lot of people were very skeptical of Justin Trudeau being elected, including me, but I really like him and am very proud to say that he represents our Country! Hoping to get started on my layouts soon and happy to hear that you have some new kits to work with for 2018! Have fun with your scrapping and getting organized with your work too!

Ok ladies I have lots to get done today, but I am definately going to find some time for me today and getting a page or two started. So much to catch up on after two weeks of being away! Have a wonderful day!

Good morning, ladies. Got all the Xmas stuff put away yesterday. D went off to work this morning after his 2 wk holiday. Poor little Taz is struggling with his anal gland problem so I'm calling the vet in a few minutes to get him in today for a flushing. I'll have desk work and tax stuff to work on today. I want to pop by the yoga studio too after I bring Taz in, to see if they have a January special. I'd like a few sessions to see if this is something I can do if I learn to modify moves with my wrist problem (tendonitis).

So far, Bailey is still in the hospital. Jen was with her yesterday. Hopefully she will stay and then get admitted to a treatment center. Fingers crossed. Its sad that she and her boyfriend got kicked out of their apartment and then locked out so she's lost all her stuff. We didn't know it but apparently they were living in a crack house these past weeks. Addiction is such a terrible thing. It breaks my heart.

I was feeling sad yesterday, thinking about B, and what her life is like now. I spent the night in my chair, watching TV and just trying to clear my head. I try to not dwell on what I cannot change and to think positive thoughts. We must have watched about 5 episodes of Lucifer which always makes me laugh. I love the humor in this show.

Chris - good for C for doing the right thing. Your kids are amazing.

Felis - isn't it fun to get some new scrap supplies? I know how you feel, work gets busy again after the holiday and it interferes with our scrap time. I have a bit of a reduced schedule this week and then it'll be back to full blown crazy schedule again...ugh.

I'm going to go call the vet now. Hopefully we'll get in this morning. Have a great day everyone. I'll be back later.
