*groans a little*
My back was twinging again yesterday and Advil helped but this morning, I can barely move. I didn't *do*anything, in fact, it was its usual semi-fine self when I went to bed. I guess the drop in temps and snow squall that came through last night is aggravating it. I am sitting with my heat pack ATM. As soon as I get something in my stomach I am going to take some more Advil or Alleve. I asked Gary to pick up the grocery order this morning so I don't have to worry about driving or slipping on the icy driveway.

Caitlyn and I spent a lot of time with the babies, she gave them "free-play time" on her bed and they are a blast to watch as they run around and explore. They already recognize her as "base." They would run to me, sniff me a bit, then run back to her. Back to me, under the pillows, back to her. I wish I had gotten pictures of them, I only have a few that she took last week. Cordelia and Evie are doing good all considering. Dilly still loves to snuggle and chuckle and Evie is-- well, Evie. LOL

Good news!! My mom saw her cardiologist yesterday and is seriously considering getting a pacemaker. Thank all the gods!!! She told him that she is almost 100% ready and if she is admitting that now, she will get it done. ( *grumbles* It only took her 2 1/2 years to come to this conclusion, why she didn't listen to everyone back then, I will never understand. But this is a good good good thing!! )

I only cursed once at the grocery shopping site- they had already pushed my order over by 10 am, so anything that I wanted to add or change on the order has to wait until the next time. I hate when they do it so early. Well, it will be a surprise to me what ends up in the bags since it wasn't finished by a long shot. hahaha
We had an interesting dinner last night. Cheese and crackers. Scott got several blocks of cheese for Christmas and planned on bringing it to PA for their NYE party. But since there was no NYE party he had it all still unopened. There were some really good selections. One was a chai-flavored fontina and with an apple slice on a Triscuit-- sooo yummy. It was an honestly fun change of pace.

I wish I knew what to do today, it hurts my back if I sit too long, but also hurts getting up and down. It's shooting down my hips and knees too. Me and my heat pack-- BFFs <3

HAGD!!!

Good morning. We took our walk this morning at 7:00 instead of 7:30. Shaun doesn't have any classes on Tuesdays so he was anxious to "get it over with". It is only 44* here this morning with a wind chill of 33* and he went without a shirt. Needless to say, the pace of our walk was brisk! LOL

I didn't accomplish much yesterday. For some reason my phone stopped automatically downloading my photos to SmugMug so I had to play around with that. I hate the unnecessary changes that aren't communicated.

I'm hoping to be a bit more ambitious today. Probably won't be. Be back in a bit for personals.

@tjscraps How did your hubby do yesterday? Did he get any results or does he have to wait until everyone and their brother reads the report and signs off? BIG hugs!!

@LSlycord Good for you getting those applications out and interviews rolling in!
I hope that by the spring everything has settled down with the flights and vacation plans. Are you able to book anything like hotels this far out or are you waiting until the flights settle?
You have the best kids-- so sweet of Shaun to walk the parents :D

@tanteva After not cleaning for so long last year ( or was it the year before?? 2020, so yes) I was thrilled to get back to that. Just to have somewhere to go, to have a marker of a different day of the week was a relief.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
How in the world did you get out of bed if it was 34* inside your house. Do you have a fireplace or something if the heat goes out?? Brrrrr.
I actually do have a list of favorite dinners, plus I use Yummly.com as a cookbook/meal planner. But everyone gets bored so easily, throw in a few people who are difficult to cook for (right?? Who doesn't like cheese and why are they at my house??? LOL) and a really tight food budget, and it makes me bonkers.
I was going to add more broccoli rabe to the list yesterday, Tom loved that pasta- but nope. The supermarket messed me up.
That is sooooooooo awesome about Urban's book!!!! Tell him congrats!! I looked at the website- cover is fa!- and wanted to give it 5 stars - just because ;)
I adore that you are starstruck with the historian, so cool. I got retweeted by Yvette Nicole Brown and was over the moon for days. LOL!!!

@BrightEyes I think you are correct, you needed to catch up on that sleep. Must have felt very good albeit surprising to sleep until 8 am. You are so organized with the DVDs and books, are you sure you weren't a librarian in another life? *G*
Have a wonderful time with the girls today.

@bcgal00 You are such a good dog mom, I suck. Mine are in desperate need of exercise. I wish we had a fenced yard for them. We chase them around the house and they tug with us and with each other but it isn't enough. W gets very whiny with us.
Every good thought I have is for you and J and B to make it to Kamloops. I hope that everything falls into place and quickly/easily.
You have to let me know what the dogs think of the toothbrush

@taxed4ever what a sweet surprise to do for the boys, Mason must have been so excited to tell you all about the show. Did you get any scrapping done?
*fingers crossed that you don't get flooded with the rain and melting snow*

@mom2triplets04 just based on my 3-week experience with two husky pups, I can only imagine how vocal Myla must have been at the vet. How is her stomach today?

Kay-- oh no! Lots of healthy thoughts to DD#2 and her DH. Have you been able to talk to them, are they feeling any better by now? hugs!

@scrap-genie hey there!! *waves wildly* Hope you are doing well, staying warm!

@Cherylndesigns I hope that by the time you see this, the family is on the mend. Is there anyone left in that house to get it? It was hard waiting to see if my MIL/FIL would get it after it went through my BIL's family one day after the other.
Caitlyn got notification from her school that they will be 100% on-campus/no remote option when they head back on Monday. She is not happy about that. The school as of right now -- they are in the winter semester so very few people on campus- had 100 cases. What in the world is going to happen next week? SMH!
Good luck to all of you, stay safe/healthy!
I love hearing how the wreath is coming along- LOL-ing about the hairpins

@Kythe men are all the same. hahaha. As long as he eats properly - hopefully having *him* make the decision, it will help in that direction.
Oh my goodness, I am trying to not laugh or roll my eyes so darn hard they fall out. Are you sure you aren't married to my DH? That furniture scenario -- all for the speakers- sounds like it would happen here. It probably has and I have mentally blocked it. :D
You must be exhausted by all of that - hope you aren't too stiff today.

Good morning ladies. I'm getting to work in a minute and then heading out for errands mid morning. I'd like to get out before the heavy rain starts which looks like it will be brutal for a few days and then slow down. No more snow after that. Now that the snow is melting, it just looks ugly out there. Wet muddy ground since it's warmed up to mid 40's. I sure would like to fast forward to springtime. At least the rain brings blooms :)

Jen and I took the pups to the petstore to pick up an online order and then ended up buying 2 more toys for Remi b/c of a sale, we were talking to the staff that we know quite well (b/c of the millions of dollars we have spent there LOL) and then we left without getting the other online purchase they were holding for me. So later today I'll take Remi back to pick that up.

@faerywings Take care of yourself today. Rest, meds and heat. I know you have a hard time just relaxing but try. I'm feeling better each day. I can bend over a bit now if I'm careful and not too often but still...an improvement, thankfully. Glad to hear your mom finally said ok to the PM. Baby rat playtime sounds fun. Yes, pics soon!

I'm going to scrap a bit this afternoon if I can and want to do a bit of training with Remi later. We'll be indoors for a few days so its time for more training and mental stimulation with her. I'm going to hide things and have her find them. I also want to practice "stay" and "come" as she gets focused on other things and blocks me out sometimes.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning lovelies.

I'm going to start out by say to Linda @LSlycord that it's warmer here than it is there. I talk to Steph several times a day and they're freezing in SWF. If it gets below 70 there, a chill sets in. LOL We just get used to it being hot and humid there and when that humidity drops, it's cold. I used to say we had "two weeks of winter". I could wear my boots and long pants and sweaters. Hahaha

It's currently 49 here and going into the high 50's. Adrienne and I are going to take a walk later. Chuck and Roger think we'll be ok outdoors as long as we don't hug each other. We're have withdrawal from each other. LOL Alyssa has this rash all over her body now - Steph (she's in the medical field) said it's "Covid Rash". UGH. I guess she's pretty miserable. Braden is feeling good today, which is good news.

Chris @faerywings that sounds risky to me to send the kids back to class. I don't blame Cait for being upset. Why take chances? Asher and Steph are ok - Asher's school is still open, but he wears a mask. It's not mandatory in FL, but Steph has made him wear one since the beginning and he's awesome about it.

LOL Chris - I knew you'd laugh about the hairpins. I couldn't believe how huge they were. I mean, my hair's thick, but really??? LMBO

Hope everybody is well and have a great Tuesday.

Morning O-zies!! Another rainy dull day, the snow is slowly going and we can see bits and pieces of the green grass again. Yesterday was ... I don't know a write off I guess. I had one of those days where it felt like I was on the phone all day long, which I was. First a face time with the boys and then my sister called to chat, then MIL and FIL came to get their wine. We had a great visit in the garage, as MIL has such a hard time doing the stairs. I told FIL to park in the garage and we loaded up the wine in there instead of lugging it down to the bottom of the driveway. Really noticing a change in FIL as he must have interrupted MIL at least 20 times as she was telling me what they have been doing for the past few weeks. She would get two words out and then he would blurt out the rest of the story. So aggravating!! I could tel MIL was getting really mad at him, but she bit her lip and just let him go on and on LOL. He really should not be driving around either, but insists that his new glasses are the cure for his Macular Degeneration  . By the time I was done with visiting, it was time to get something ready for lunch for my Gary. So I made this really good shrimp dish with cauliflower rice. He loved it and said he would have gone keto with me a long time ago if he knew he was going to get food like that for lunch! LOL. Now I am looking for some good soup recipes for my instant pot that are Keto friendly. I know I have some really good ones from my Maria Emmerich books that I purchased when I first started Keto. I think its been 5 years now since I first got going on this Way of Eating. I don't think I will ever go back to eating like I used to. So after DH left to go back to work, I got busy trying to get Hunter's t-shirt finished. The character that he wants is very intricate and colourful, very difficult to cut out on my Silhouette. I am getting frustrated with it and Mason is anxiously waiting for his T-shirt too. I told him I will mail it out today and Hunter will just have to wait to get his darn it!

@faerywings - sorry that your back is giving you grief again Chris!! Hope the heating pad helps it feel better! Yes its probably the change in weather that you are experiencing, its so strange how the weather can affect us! I bet it was cute to see the babies running around on the bed, nice distraction for you! It is scary that Cait will be going back to classes in person again, but I suppose the world is tired of this crazy Covid stuff. I don't like the idea of it either and just heard this morning that my grands will all be back to class again on Monday. I am not too worried about Mason and Hunter as there have been so few cases there, but Ottawa is a different story, so I really worry about Isaac and Sadie!

@LSlycord sounds like you have really had a dip in temps! I bet your walk was fast and furious, just to keep warm LOL. Nice that your son takes you for walks, he is helping you to stay healthy! I need someone like that to get me out on a walk too. I have been so lazy lately!

@bcgal00 - I am excited for you to know that your move might happen sooner than later! Yes housing is a bit less expensive in Kamloops area, but still too darn pricey!! Had to laugh at the millions of dollars you have spent at the pet store, but you are such a great doggy mom! You have two very lucky dogs!! Glad to hear that your back is slowly getting better, sure hope that the rain is not as bad as they are predicting. Right now I am seeing patches of blue sky, but I know that is not going to last much longer.

@Cherylndesigns - Wow you are warmer than Florida?? That is crazy! Hope you have a great walk with Adrienne today, keep your distance from each other and you should be ok! Sometimes its hard to do that though I know as we had some difficulty on our hikes to not get too close to the people you are with especially when there were about 20 of us LOL. I hope you are having fun getting your wreath completed and I had a chuckle about the huge hair pins too! I have never heard of the Covid Rash?? Hope that Alyssa feels better very soon!

@scrap-genie - Waving hello to you, hope you are well! So nice to see you here again!

@tjscraps - Sure hope that your hubby did ok with his procedure! Keeping my fingers crossed that he will have a quick recovery!

@Kythe - OMG you are married to my husband's twin LOL. Why is nothing a good idea unless it's the man's idea?? I used to plant little seeds of ideas to my husband who would quickly say no that is a bad idea to me, then two months later, wouldn't you know he would come up with the same idea and suddenly it was wonderful!! MEN!!!

Ok I need to get busy doing some actual chores around this place. Not sure if I will have the opportunity to scrap today or not. Hopefully I will we will see what the day brings! Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Points for me... I actually went for a quick walk this morning rather than just thinking I should. I keep reading articles about walking and dementia and how it helps even if signs of dementia are apparent. I am finding it harder and harder to remember some processes and words. I rely on writing things down more and more. Hopefully I haven't left it too long.

Finally the weather is warming. on my walk I saw the tips of crocus and daffodils. It's coming! maybe another 6 weeks or so.
Have a productive day everyone.

Thanks ladies. The scope was ok, but they found a problem, which is likely the reason for him feeling so crappy the last few months and for his drastic weight loss. They admitted him to the hospital as is absorbing no nutrients through his gastric pouch (small stomach made during gastric bypass surgery) due to a fistula. It’s a rare complication, especially so far out from surgery (he had it 5 years ago).

Today they put in a feeding tube via his nose and he will be in hospital for about 4 days. He will need surgery to fix the problem but all his levels are so low right now that healing from the surgery would be very hard, so the feeding tube is to get him some nutrients and build him up so that he can then withstand surgery (hopefully in a month he will be sufficiently recovered from losing so much weight and his body starving for the last 4 months).

Sorry for no personals, I’m writing this in his hospital room as they’ve taken him for a CT. I’m hoping to be here when the dr comes as he hasn’t been yet (it’s 6:30 pm) so that I can hear what he says.

To make life more complicated I also have my own procedure tomorrow - I have a spot of skin cancer on my chin and they are doing MOHS surgery to remove it. Hopefully that will be the only treatment needed. My mother in law came down (she lives 8 hours away) to help me out while Mark is gone - thankfully I can visit him in hospital and she can be with girls and she can be with him during the day.

Been a crazy day. Myla is feeling better but she's biting a lot. I'm watching Absentia S1 on prime. Just started it.
