Good morning to all of the Os!
First the good news- It is above freezing so the rain we have been having is just rain, whew! I will take :rain: over :smow: every darn day. More good news is that Evie was taking Cheerios from us and running up our arms voluntarily all day yesterday. And she was chuckling while doing that at one point. Yay, Evie!
Not so good news- man, my ankle is hurting this morning. I knew it would but that doesn't make me any happier. The PT-ist said that my muscles all around my foot/ankle are tight and that the tendons and ligaments are inflamed. The worst part of it is that she said that icing it would be really helpful. Icing. Why??? Why can't heat help inflammation instead?? :pout:
I have my 6-weeks worth of sessions all set and now I have to hope that the above-freezing temps stick around.
I have a good goal to keep in mind that I need to be able to walk in shoes other than my sneakers/orthotics by the cruise. I am also starting to see ads for bathing suits which makes me dread having to go shopping for them. That is the worst possible thing especially this time of year when I am flabby and pasty winter white. I haven't bought a new bathing suit in 4 years and before that, I don't even know. One of the ones I wear is an old one of Caitlyn's. (BB- "Before boobs :pound: )
I guess one day after PT, I can stop at Target and Walmart since they are on my way home.

Today I am off to see my parents. My dad is taking my car in to the dealership for an oil change. When they bought this car they got the extended warranty and were able to transfer it to me when they gave me this car. That expires next month and I needed an oil change anyway so they will take a look at everything and if anything needs to be done, hopefully, it will be covered.
The pacemaker seminar is today so my mom and I are heading to that. Maybe if she gets some more generalized info about them she won't be quite as nervous if the Drs do feel that this something that she will need.

In between all of that I have to get ready for food shopping since I have to do that tomorrow morning, and then I am off to PT as soon as the groceries are unpacked. There won't be time for me to be wandering around the store aimlessly. Not that I ever do that. ;)

here is to a very happy day!

Kay- How is the weather looking for your pot luck today? Did the rain ever turn to snow? Have a great day if the weather cooperates!
My ankle before PT was "ok" but today is not so good. I imagine that the weather isn't helping here either with the chilly rain. I am happy to hear that you are taking good care of yours when you need too.

Rae- IIRC Sara (petey) had a sous vide and would cook meat in that. I can't remember what it is or how it cooked since we don't eat meat aside from the occasional chicken cutlet. Seriously, how fun that you were at a party where you could eat everything! That has to have been a first!
You are a stronger woman than me, I think if I had all of my hair chopped off I would cry. I bet you look gorgeous.
I will have to see if we have The Unicorn here, will check that out.

Trudy- Leah loved your Insta feed- saw that you had Oscraps things too and figured we were friends.
what a bummer that the teachers are still on strike, Thank goodness that Heather has some flexibility what that. I feel horrible for the parents who have to keep scrambling to get child care.
Uh-oh!!! Have you unleashed a genealogy monster with FIL? Any way that you can change it to a one-month membership? Why does he think that he can argue with DNA? Poor MIL!
ITA-- I think that some -- def. not all! haha!! - of the lower bickering amounts is due to her feeling a bit better and having a tiny bit more patience. I hope that you had more success than me with laundry, mine is still sitting in the dryer.

Nancy- I am sorry that you are going to be without a car for a week! Can DS use an Uber at all on the days you need the car? That is odd that DIL won't drive you especially if she is going to the games anyway. My kids bicker about driving and carpooling too. Cait doesn't like to drive so Scott gets annoyed that he is usually the driver.
I will never understand the workings of men's minds or lack thereof. I hope that your men and DIL get it together for you. At least you have Luther!
I will take another look at the maps for Penn Station. TY again.

Felis- whew, that is good news that your family in the UK and Germany is safe. The winds must have been pretty bad through all of that.
I do worry a lot, don't I? :D It is so strange for my parents to be late or even on time for anything, they are always here early. Even Cait asked where they were at 10.30 heh.
I hope that you can get your record player working again so you can listen to your music.

Hugs!!

Morning, gals.... woke up to 4" of snow this morning. It is still snowing lightly. They closed the schools here in town as more snow is expected around noon - and they are saying it will heavy. 3 of the gals who live on the east side cancelled due to the icy/slick roads. Those of us on the west side on the mesa will be hit with the heavier snow - so we cancelled the lunch. We will have here next month instead. Guess I will divide up the peach cobbler into serving sizes and freeze it. Glad I didn't make a big main dish!!! Spent about hour putting things away so the house is back to 'normal'...

Just as glad as the foot is hollering at me this morning. Know it is due to the change in barometric pressure and cold/damp. Plan on vegging in my recliner and reading.

Yes, Chris... the ice will help reduce the inflammation. I use it all the time when the foot is aching. Hope the 6 weeks of PT will get you to feeling better. Good luck on finding a new swim suit. Always hate looking for a new one - especially if it is this time of year.

Morning ladies... Just quickly popping in as I am on my way to the pool. Have been face timing with Heather and the boys and a friend of Mason's (Jensen) . Heather is watching him for the day while the teachers are striking. Guess the kids will be in school for only one day next week. :mmph: I will catch up with you all after I return from the pool, but wanted to just say Hi to everyone. Gotta go :bolt:

good morning - tonight the Devils play the Florida Panthers. So I am just watching TV. Yesterday I got more knitting done. Cooked but no walking as it rained all day.

Chris those rats sound so cute! Sorry your ankle hurts. Glad you have a goal. And buying swimming suits is the pits in the winter. That white skin really glows in the lighting. It is the pits not having the car.

Rae still loving those squirrels photos.

Felis so glad the Oscar party went so well.

Have a great day all!

Trudy that is something about your ILs arguing about the Ancestry. LOL Do they just need to fight.

Good morning, ladies. Still trying to catch up on desk work from the wkend. It's a good thing only one of my clients does backlog like that, the other thankfully sends it daily so I know what to expect and schedule my time accordingly. Oh well...retirement keeps getting closer and I can't wait to decrease my working hours. We both agree that we would like to work part time. D wants to retire from his job, collect his pension and find a part time job doing something different, something that probably doesn't require a lot of driving (he is so sick of spending a lot of time on the road). We'll see. But 2 yrs is not that far away so it's time to start thinking about it.

Chris - I totally agree...I hate icing. I understand it, know it's necessary but...ugh...hate the cold. I'd rather snuggle up with a heating pad :) Glad your mom will be at the class today and I'm sure she'll appreciate you being with her.

Kay - I bet your peach cobbler is good! My mom used to make the best apple cobbler. It was her fave dessert. Enjoy reading today.

Trudy - have a good swim today.

Nancy - sounds like a good day for you yesterday....sports, knitting, TV...quiet and relaxing.

I'm getting back to work. Have a great day, everyone!
