Good morning! I am trying to stay warm right now. Yesterday was sort of "warm" but dang, a cold front came through last night and it is soooo cold.

I got a bunch more things done yesterday which is good because not much is going to get done today. I baked pecan pie bars, cleaned up the candles I made. Trimmed the wicks, got all of the drips off of the sides. The one I made for myself burns fine, but I don't smell it as much as I wanted to. I was cautious on how much fragrance oil I used, went with the lower end of the percentage range. It smelled amazing when I was melting it, smells fabulous cold, but I am not getting a good "hot throw." Scott thinks I have "nose blindness" to it. Maybe.

I spent a lot of time with my Livvie. Today is the day. :(
She is not able to get around much and the other eye has glaucoma too. I fed her fried rice while Caitlyn washed her tail yesterday since she isn't able to do that anymore. But wow, she was chuckling and boggling non-stop. Rats grind their teeth and bulge their eyes when they are happy/content: chuckling or bruxing and boggling. That made me cry.
*whispers* Liv has always been my favorite but don't tell the other girls.
She has always been so sassy and cracked me up. Tat was funny in her weird way, Cordelia is sweet and cuddly. Liv-- just spunky and adventurous. She was always the first to figure out how to escape the cage-- and to put herself back in. Steal food? Of course!
I am taking Cait this afternoon and Tom is meeting her there. She only wants me in with her while it's done. (Still needs her mama <3 )

First, I have to get through the morning-- food order pick up at 9 and then my hair appt is at 10.30. I still need to get to the library to verify my address because I can't download books now either. I will try to do that on my way home from the hair salon.

Wish me luck today!

Hugs!

@LSlycord Woo hoo, good job using the to-do/tada list!

@tanteva good news about the washing machine. I don't smell you anymore. Whew. ;)
So funny about finding a jumper with tags on. You are so good with pen pals. I barely am able to text my BFF with any regularity. Forget about wiring by hand.
Caitlyn shared some vegan chocolate cheesecake (brand is Daiya) and it was amazing!! It didn't taste like that good NY Cheesecake but it didn't taste like it was vegan either. I think if they could get vegan cheese right, she would be more likely to be vegan but she cannot give up cheese
How is the LO coming with FS? I adore her stuff but also get very intimidated by it

@taxed4ever love the new avi! Sorry to hear about the snow, we are supposed to get a few inches tomorrow. Was your Gary able to get to work and back with no problems? Bet it was *lovely* to have the house to yourself. I am sure it is looking beautiful!
The pantry is all restocked and I was able to toss a few boxes of stale crackers and gluten-free pasta that Gary doesn't need after that possible Crohn's scare last year. I am going to miss the chalkboard that I had painted on the old one. It was a great way to communicate with the family.
Coffee butter is moved to Thursday. Yesterday was too chopped up to attempt it.

@bcgal00 The pic of Remi on FB is to die for! I adore that pupper! What a joy!! Hopefully, she won;t get into the decorations. We are;t 100% sure how the dogs will be with the presents so they won't go under the tree just yet. They think anything wrapped is for them. haha
Caitlyn loves Gardein too- she loves the nuggets, the meatballs, and the bacon the best. The bacon smells amazing when she cooks it.

@Cherylndesigns haha, you are a one-woman (craft)wrecking crew. LOL
Did you get your boots delivered to the house yet? Any luck with the old pair turning up?

Yikes!!!!!!!!! Eva, that is toooooooooo cold!!!!!!!
OTOH, if you go to the doctor, does it cost you a gazillion dollars when you walk in the door? Fight with your insurance company to cover medications that the Dr prescribed? Ration pills when they do go through because you can't afford the copays? Tough choices! ;) :D :p

@BrightEyes How odd/funny that you watched the Pearl Harbor movie at this time.
I haven't tried the Scavenger Hunt. I have in the past but sometimes they are really difficult.
You are making me very hungry with the apple crisp!

@nancyr it must be fabulous to have kids around for Christmas again. The Santa meet sounds fun. How was the hockey game?? Does this mean you got good pics to scrap? I feel like it has been a long time since I saw lots of Devils pages in your Gallery.
Congrats on getting the new oven, finally!

Off to get my day rolling. xoxoxo

Hugs to you @faerywings & Cait. Losing a fur baby is the worst!!!

Slept late today, and it makes me feeling weird all day. Needed to do stuff today ... have done nothing. That includes trying out my new kit from FS, so no news on how that went.

Found a new Youtube channel last night. Really inspiring, and I really think I should try her 30 Day Challenge ... later LOL But here's a video I watched this morning:
I admit ... I feel a bit inspired. We'll see .....

Now I'll have to try and make at least something happen.

Good morning ladies. I got my work computer shipped back yesterday. I started on that disastrous journey at 9:00 and finished at 3:00.
The good news is that, while waiting for people to get the stuff to me so that I could send it back, I ate breakfast at the Belgian Sweet House Bistro---had Belgian coffee and a crepe with Belgian chocolate. Then I came home to pick up a chair to take to the beach and Sydney texted---she finished her exam early and was bored but didn't want to come all the way back home since she had to work. So I met her at a place near work and we had lunch outside by the pond. It reminded me of my college days, when I would get done with a class early and drive to Mom's work to see if she had time for coffee or lunch. After we ate and visited, I got a beach chair out of Syd's trunk and headed to the beach for about an hour. It was a beautiful afternoon but having lived most of my life in the snowy and cold Midwest, somehow only my head gets that it is December. My heart just can't figure it out. Got an email while at the beach that my printing label had been sorted out so left the beach and got the computer shipped. Check that item off the to do list.
Came home and got my siggie created and uploaded. Excited to have that done as well. I am dedicating some time this morning to Cheery-O duties. Then I promised I would spend four hours on this disaster area called my office.

Time for a few personals.
@faerywings I am so sorry that today is Livvie's last day. I'm glad that you can be there for Cait. That is one of the most difficult tasks that a fur baby mama goes through. ((hugs)) to both of you.

@tanteva glad that you now have a working washing machine. I need to watch your YouTube video because I definitely need help with cleaning---note that I estimated I would need 4 hours to sort through the disaster known as my office. And note that I didn't say that I would be finished cleaning it after 4 hours. I can't wait to see what you do with the FoxeySquirrel kit. Love that you are stepping outside of your comfort zone.

@taxed4ever well I am officially done for now. Who knows what that means. I think that I will probably start looking for a new assignment after the first of the year. I have been doing contract work since August 2018. I just didn't accept an extension on this assignment...I'd been on this one for almost 2 1/2 years and it defeats the advantage of contract work if you always stay in the same place. So I'm taking some time for me. We will see how that works out. Can I tell you a secret? I'm a little envious of your snow. But only for a day. And I'm not envious of Gary needing to drive in it. Even though I drove in it for years, I had just reached the end by the winter of 2018-2019 and that's why we decided to move to Florida. But a fresh white snow makes everything look so peaceful and I miss that.

@bcgal00 I love that Remi enjoyed the snow so much. I saw the photo on FB. She is just so beautiful. Our Andie is a Newfypoo and when we lived in Iowa, she loved the snow. She would go outside to lay in it. We would have a terrible time getting her to come in. Decorating the tree is on my list this week too. I feel like I'm behind but I am just not going to stress it.

@Cherylndesigns glad that the boots have arrived on the property. I suspect that you now have two pair of boots on the property...LOL! Hope that at least one will now make it to you. And you know that ordering this new pair is a sure sign that Adrienne is going to find the second pair.

@BrightEyes sounds like such a busy day. Love that you have family chats. And apple crisp sounds delicious especially with that ice cream. Thanks for the reminder that this is Pearl Harbor Day. One of my oldest friends was born on this day...need to wish her a happy birthday. And thank you for the prayers...they are much appreciated.

@nancyr I don't know how you have managed without an oven since September. You have the patience of a saint. Glad that you have it back in time to do some Christmas baking! And what a treat to get to be up to the glass to see your Devils. It really was a good day!

Ok...I'm off to leave a little love in the gallery...before I start my office debacle. I should take a before and after picture...maybe.

Morning, gals. Got a look at the Day 4 - Journaling challenge. Need to give it some thought. All caught up on the other days challenges and game so can take a bit of time on this one. Yesterday I made a chicken, apple, cranapple, onion with mayo sandwich for supper but didn't get to have it until after the family chat was over. Oh, yes... that apple crisp/ice cream was just as yummy last night as it was the first night. We had a good family chat - so good to see their smiling faces. We talked for well over an hour.

@faerywings So sad that it is time to say goodbye to Livvie. Glad you got to spend some time with her. Give Cait a hug from me. Have to admit that Scott's comment about 'nose blindness' had me chuckling.

@tanteva Saw Urban's photo on FB... very hansom guy!

@LSlycord Thanks for explaining about sending the computer back... but what a PITA that was to get it done. Nice that you were able to fill in the time with a few pleasant activities. Got a big LOL over how long it might take you to clean your office. Oh, yes... do take before and after photos. It took me several days working on cleaning DH's office and making into Our office.

@nancyr No oven for months!!! Yikes!!! Glad you finally got one. You were smart to be polite but request a refund... that must have gotten their attention.

@Cherylndesigns Didn't think about you not being able to reach the window wreath to check for size of the bow.

@tjscraps How are you doing, gal?? Miss seeing you post and thinking about you every day.

Time to get dressed so I will be ready to head out once I get the call about the appointment time. CYL

Morning all! Our snow has pretty much melted all away and tomorrow is supposed to be sunshine and warmer! It will be a beautiful day for our hike! Working on catching up around here a bit more today and then I have to get downtown and look for a couple of things for Isaac and Sadie. Still don't have the tree up, but DH is taking Friday off so we can move the furniture around a bit to make more room for the tree and bring up extra seating for when everyone arrives on the 17th. Yikes that's only 10 more days and I haven't even started wrapping gifts or baking yet o_O . Yesterday was good as I got a few things done laundry etc. also worked a bit on my silhouette machine making my Christmas village, here is what I have so far...
unnamed-1.jpg It will look so much better when I have the rest of my Christmas decorations out and a few more buildings done. It is really fun and easy to put together! I just love the horse and sleigh and the man with the Christmas Tree in the back! The church was a bit more difficult because of having to put the steeple on the top, but I have been loving working on these! I need to get some of those battery operated tea lights to put inside the building today, hope I can find some! Perhaps at the dollar store?

@faerywings - Oh my heart breaks for you and Caitlyn! So sad to have to say good-bye to Livvie! Please give Cait a hug from me too! At least getting your hair done will be a good thing to try to keep your mind off of the sad day ahead! I hope that perhaps you can add a caulk board to the new pantry? A great way to leave messages for everyone!

@tanteva - I also think that your Urban is a handsome guy! Love your layout with his photo! I will have to watch that video, perhaps it will get me inspired to do a bit more cleaning around here.

@LSlycord - I am glad that you got the computer sent back and that you will be taking a breather from work for awhile! Yes I totally get why you miss the snow, even if only for a little while. We always have talked about what it would be like to live somewhere warm all the time, but we both admit that we would miss the changing seasons far too much! Although I would give it a try for a couple of years LOL. How nice that you got to be with your daughter for a bit during her day, what a good idea to go sit on the beach for awhile too! I am envious!!

@BrightEyes - My mother used to make the most amazing apple crisp and of course you must have ice cream on top!! My Gary hates it and his mother used to make it all the time and made him sit at the table until he finished it. He hardly ever did, why make someone eat something that they dislike?? Nice that you are all caught up with the challenges here, I really need to do that too!
Hope you get inspired to do the Journaling challenge! I really love those ones!

@nancyr - Wow what an amazing day you had yesterday! Don't know how you went so long without an oven! At least when mine was on the fritz I had my toaster oven. You must really be excited to do some baking as I know how much you dislike going to the grocery store LOL. Hope your game was enjoyable (sorry they did not win for you) and you got lots of great photos of your Devils! My DH still shows everyone the collage of photos you took of his Bruins and has it framed in his Den, he just loves it!

@Cherylndesigns - Hope the boots arrive today! I love making bows, but my old hands get sore when I need to do a large one. I have been waiting weeks to get an order that was supposed arrive on the 24th of November, still waiting!!

@bcgal00 - Hope your snow is all gone too! I hate driving in that slushy mess! Sure hoping that the highway is good when I have to drive to Comox to pick the grands up! Hope Remi is a good puppy and doesn't bother with your tree or gifts. I just love your new AVI! So cute! Good idea to get the old Christmas decorations donated I really should do that also, we have way too much stuff!!

Alright I am going to open up my photoshop and get busy! Have a great day everyone!

Well ... we have this saying in Swedish: "kaka söker maka" - which literally means "cookie seeks wife" (but that don't rhyme ... so weird LOL) Anyway, it means the same as “Birds of a feather flock together.” I guess. Just saying LOL

I do recommend her videos, all I've seen so far is really good. Tips & tricks, but most of all pep talk. She's much about being good enough and not perfect. To be nice to oneself.

I LOVE that Christmas village. I so want a silhouette or a cricut. But first I must show that I use the things that I have...this is my new rule. And I have an AccuQuilt that has set upstairs in a closet for a very long time.

Chris, this makes me so sad, hugs to Cait and your whole family! {hugs}

Eva, my sister love these channels about cleaning and household organizing, I'll have to show this to her, thank you for sharing!

Linda, we have family friend from Australia and it's so strange that they celebrate Christmas at summer. I'm like you Christmas must be white and cold!
Your day sounds really lovely!

Kay, I'm happy to hear for yours family chat!

Trudy, this Christmas village is totally awesome! Be prepared that the other members of your family will want to take one set for their houses too!

I'm finally feeling normal. My family insist that it's happened because I don't eat properly, but I'm very strict in got all necessarily calories, just sometimes in only one meal. This is ridiculous, Intermittent fasting is proven beneficial. It's more likely we are messed up some of the tradition that we have to watch now and ghosts are punished me. It's exactly as the legends told that you will suffer if you do not obey. However, I'm fine now. And we have snow today so I'm thrilled! I was able to do lovely walk at the snow, pretending that I to have to go to the store. But short one, as I don't want to force my health too soon.

Just a quick in and out this morning. I got a CT page done, am getting outside for a few minutes and then calling the vet. Taz is going to need to go back in as he hasn't recovered from his anal gland flush last Thurs. He is worse so something is wrong, I'm guessing inflammation and infection. Poor little guy.

@faerywings Hugs for Livy.

I have to go. Be back later.

I've manage to do some tidying up. Not that anyone would notice, but at least some baby steps. Got dinner ready in time ... well, almost ... I was watching news - new Corona restrictions as of tomorrow. So far - Sweden is doing relatively ok, compared to other European countries, let's hope it stays that way.

Got some scrapping done as well ... but that kit from Foxeysquirrel is intimidating. So out of my comfort zone, I'm not even sure what to do with it. LOL Guess I'll just have to start playing and see where it leads me. Also, I wanted to scrap a Christmas memory for today's challenge. We'll have to see ... it's 7pm here already.

As I predicted yesterday, I haven't gotten one single word written for my Christmas letters that need to be in the mail on Friday the latest. As a reminder, I got a Christmas card from one of my German pen pals today. Tomorrow I absolutely HAVE to do it, cuz I'm working Thursday.

I'm crocheting a poncho that I was hoping to wear on Thursday for work ... I always have so many plans... and never do anything. LOL

But I'm really good at watching YouTube videos. LOL Hope your sister will like the channel @felis - I think she is so very inspiring.

Helloooooooooooo - I'm getting such a late start. I've been out shopping with Adrienne already! We really just went to Walgreen's - well, she had a couple more errands, but I stayed in the car - just quicky things. It's starting to get crowded and I'm so glad that my shopping is done. I ordered a canvas for myself and it was ready. I'm just doing "Cheryl shopping" now if I DO go out. I must show you girls the canvas that I had made - haven't had time to photograph it yet, but it's a LO that I made for Day 1 - the tree template challenge.

It's just gorgeous - I had silver edges put on it and we hung it up already.

Chris @faerywings and Cait, I'm SO sorry about little Livvie. My heart goes out to you and I'm sending hugs. Please pass my condolences to Cait and of course, she still needs/wants her mama.

Trudy @taxed4ever what a fantastic Christmas village - I can't wait to see it all done.

My boots were delivered by Tom today (Roger's handyman)! I like them a lot and will take a picture when I get a minute. My bow looks amazing - we got it on the wreath this am - Chuck didn't even take it down, he just reached up and I told him where to tie it. Pictures coming for that, too. Thanks to ALL of you who asked about it. Yes, I know the other pair will turn up now and I'll have two pairs. That's okay - I love those old scuffed, rode hard boots. These are almost too nice to go walking around here in.

I'm going to get busy here and my office is a disaster, too. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Waving to all.
