It is here!! No matter how ready we are, after this point, there is no reason to stress. No one is going to know the difference. Right? Right.
I am actually feeling pretty good about where I am at. I finished all of my wrapping. Although I had thought I was done, I realized that I still had to wrap the dogs' gifts. Gary had to put them out of reach of them (and me) so out of sight, out of mind. Then I noticed them on top of the cabinet.
I made the mistake of squeezing one of the toys while wrapping and I had two dogs *staring* at me, not leaving my side. Maybe it is weird that I have to wrap the gifts but my dogs are insane when it comes to unwrapping things. My first dog would unwrap gifts but needed to have a cookie inside to get her started. Ray never had any interest. J neither, not until W came along. Now the two of them run around the house with wrapping paper in their mouths. Come back, tug the tog, get more paper. meanwhile, the 4 of us sit back and LOBO.
Our vet/cookie runs went well.
Dilly's abscess had separated from her rib cage and the vet was able to take care of that much easier this time and gave her an injection of abx. He was shaking his head- he has been treating her for a year with this abscess and can never understand why it is so weird. Caitlyn gave him some of the rat hammocks that she sews and you could tell how touched he was (he has rats too). He told her that this appt/meds were on him - and that was *after* she told him he was going to have two more rat patients next month.
The next stop was to drop off the cookies and show off the girls at our dog-vet's office. The women there all snuggled with the girls, even the one receptionist who didn't really like rats (the tails, of course, they throw people off a bit so I get that).
I have to do a bit more today than I originally thought, but I think I am on track. My biggest concern is shelling the hard-boiled eggs for the deviled eggs. I kept thinking about the egg-cooker Trudy shared with me. Man, I wish that I had more room in my kitchen, that sure would have come in handy.
We are off to my mom's this afternoon and will get to see Santa on the Fire engine. After that, we will go to my BIL/SILs- back home and collapse into bed. One good thing about adult kids is that I know that they will not be waking *us* up tomorrow morning. ound:
I did my Christmas Meditation before I got out of bed this morning and I will keep reminding myself to breathe with it all day.
I hope that all of you have a wonderful day today and tomorrow. ::grouphug
