Good morning! I am going to try and not complain too much this morning. Lucky for you I got a lot of it out of my system yesterday. Guess what happened at the Drs? Nothing. Pfft. Well, not nothing. He unwrapped my bandages, started taking off some of the tape holding the incision closed. Looked at about a 1cm section and put that tape back on and rewrapped my foot. Darn it! It isn't healed enough so I am still stitched until next week. I was really annoyed yesterday. I even brought the right sneaker with me in the car so I could walk in the door without the surgical shoe. I can add in a little more activity so there is that.
We stopped my mom's to drop off some dishes and she is coming up later this week with some more food. Then we stopped at my ILs to drop some things to them. By the time I got home, I was in pain so I can see that there won't be any big plans around the house just yet.

I heard from BFF that the surgery was done and she was home by 11 am. She can text so that is good I will chat with her a bit today. I was hoping that if I could drive, I was going to visit.

Scott had a good time at the conference- he liked being around like-minded people and got a kick out of seeing his name on the poster that was made for the research presentation by his professor. They also went to the Bombay Nature Preserve (I think that was the name) on the way home and said that was pretty cool. Nancy and Jean, have you ever been there? He said that it is popular for birding.

Nothing happening here today. It is cold and dreary. Gary is picking up our groceries. The highlight of the day. heh.

Hoping everyone has a great day!

Trudy- I know for sure that I wouldn't like anyone messing with my eyes like that either. Hope that he is not too much underfoot this week.
Scott was telling me about a new painting technique that Leah is messing around with- putting something wet on a canvas and then dropping paint in it and blowing it around. Does it sound like what you are doing? Sorry to hear that the last one was a Fail but at least you are able to scrape the canvas clean.
Very smart of your Gary to not work on saws and such with only one good eye.

Kay- hope that you have your car back. I hate hate hate it when restaurants/stores have to blast music. Makes no sense to me why.

Nancy- it was such a nice day yesterday but so weird to be even 45 minutes from home and seeing all of the daffodils and forsythia blooming when we have none of that just yet. My poor hyacinths are trying to push through the dead leaves and I want to uncover them but I can't just yet. I hope that they don't die. Are you cold and dreary today too?

Stacey- how fun to take Zoey to the egg hunt, bet it felt a bit strange to be there without Cooper. Congrats on the Brak Box. I haven't ever gotten anything like that but I hope it is filled with goodies that Zoey enjoys.

Felis- I understand what you are saying about cleaning. When I clean someone else's house I feel so good about it. I can see and feel and smell the difference. But since I rarely clean my own house that way, all at once, I don't get that same feeling. When I am stressed or anxious, my first reaction is to clean and scrub. I do think it has to do with the need to control my environment.
Nice to hear that your country is as beautiful as imagined!

Kay- great score on the tomato juice! Hugs to you and hope that today finds you less blue.

Karen- Is UP where cone of shame came from? That is too funny! We have a cat door to go to our basement so the cats could go down there but the dogs couldn't. We rescued a feral cat a long time ago and a mirror fell on his head and had a laceration on it. He had to get the cone and would *frantically* try to go through the cat door to hide in the basement. It was pathetic and sad and funny all of that same time.

WTG on cleaning the house!

xoxo

Morning, gals. Woke up with a scratchy throat this morning. Allergies have been giving me fits the last week. Been taking meds for them but still have problems. Suppose to go to my Red Hat Chapter lunch but debating whether I feel up to it. Right now, my answer is to stay home and hibernate.

Chris, sorry your incision isn't healed enough to get the stitches out yet. I know you are itching to get back into your normal routine... but you need to take it easy still. The amazing thing about flowers is that they can still grow even when buried under leaves. So give yourself time to heal before taking on the garden chores.

Trudy, I have cataract surgery and strongly recommend it when it is needed. Didn't realize how bad my eyesight had gotten until I had the surgery and could see everything nice and sharp again. Now I only need glasses for reading! Good luck to Gary with his surgery. Hope he doesn't drive you crazy being underfoot all the time this week.

Stacey, I know how much Cooper like dressing up for the all the holidays. Glad you took Zoey to Easter Egg Hunt event.

Looks like I will be drinking hot liquids all day... it is the only thing that is soothing to the throat. Going to grab another cup of coffee and decide whether to get dressed or just stay in PJs all day. CYL

Morning ladies... I am up before DH and enjoying the peace and quiet of the early day! Nice to wake up see that it is not dark and gloomy! The sky is clear and the sun is coming up and shining on the lake below us, so pretty!! I will have to get to the shower soon and get dressed to take DH to the hospital for his cataract removal. Then to the pool and hopefully he will be ready for me to pick him up and come home. Yesterday we got some of the cleanup of the pinecone etc. done and filled the truck up with all the yard waste and branches from trimming the bushes and cutting the grass. DH made a run to Bing's Creek where we drop it all off and I made a run to Jysk to buy a large canvas for myself. It was a good day to go to Jysk as they had their canvases on sale!! Gotta love a good sale!! I will be doing the large canvas in day or two, but did manage to get another painting done, well actually two, but one I think I might do over, the other I just love!! I want them to be sold together as I am using the same colours on them both. Black, white and Prussian Blue. So pretty together! The large one will be to match this one I did the other day which currently is in my on-suite bathroom and I want a large one to go along with it. If they sell that would be great, but if not then I will just keep them for myself LOL.

Chris - Sorry that you did not get your stitches out yesterday!! That must have been so disappointing for you! But no sense risking infection or the incision opening up again, so please have patience and it will be over soon! It does sound like Leah is trying out the Dutch Pouring method and yes that is one of the techniques that I have used for my paintings, so fun and they get done very quickly, with lovely results! How nice that your Mom will be bring up some more food for the family, she is a sweetie!! Glad to hear that your BFF"s surgery went well also, hope you get to have a visit with her soon! Sounds like Scott had a wonderful time at the conference too! I bet you are happy that he is back home with you though!

Kay - Ugh I hope that your throat is not going to bother you for too long! Allergies are so horrible! My SIL suffers from allergies a lot! I seem to only be bothered by the cottonwood when it blooms. Staying at home in your PJ's all day sounds like a good plan if you are suffering today! Hope you feel better soon! Thanks for the good wishes to my Gary, he knows that the end result is so worth it and he is looking forward to being able to see better!! He is a bit nervous though and did not sleep all that well last night poor guy!

Alrighty I really better hit the shower and get going. Hope to be back to catch up with everyone else and maybe even get some scrapping done today??

good late morning - I am watching women's hockey and team USA is defeating Russia 7-0 in the 3rd period. Fun to watch. It makes me wonder just how much support the women's teams have when Russia, Sweden and Finland have the great men's teams yet the women's teams are not up to par with either Canada nor the US. And they should be if the support was there. Had a good workout in the pool. There are a group of ladies and they are so nice. So that makes for a fun time. Today is more therapy but that is good. Tonight is my dinner out with my girlfriend and that will be fun. But tonight will be interesting for my Devils team to find out what number for their draft selection. Yesterday was clean out day for the Devils and meeting the media and the coach, GM and owners. It was interesting to listen to Taylor Hall talk. One thing that cracks me up is his saying that the team needs more talent. He has been in the league for 9 years and made the playoffs once. And while yes more talent is good but does it lead to playoffs not always just look at his old team the Oilers. The Islanders went from the worst defensive team last year to this season being the best. The Islanders lost their captain to free agency and yet clinched a playoff berth before the super talented Maple Leafs. I guess I just don't like a player who missed from Christmas on to say the team needs more. Hall had knee pain and had several MRIs but nothing was found and rehab was not helping so finally after months they decide to do surgery. Felt bad for him as I know how knee pain is. The day is dreary and now the news that NYC has declared an emergency for measles outbreak. I don't understand the non vaccination stand.

Chris so sorry that the stitches did not come out. So again you must be a patient patient. And yesterday was so gorgeous. I did not have to wear a coat. What joy! And yes now it is dreary! It is fun when you see your name on your first poster at a conference and you are with like minded people.

Trudy good luck to your MG. My sister had cataract surgery and she like Kay said it was so amazing how well she could see. He will have to rest but he will be happy! Have fun swimming and painting. One more day and the playoffs start! The painting is gorgeous!

Kay I remember when people moved west to avoid allergies. Then the people wanted their homes to look green and now the allergies have moved too! Feel better! I hope you feel good enough to go to your luncheon.

Stacey a dog Easter Egg hunt sounds so fun! Always fun to see dogs together!

Felis I wish I had the cleaning gene. I don't - I do minimal to make sure house is ok. My DH and I have a philosophical differing of opinions. I say hire some one and he says we should do it ourselves. He once threatened to divorce me if I hired someone. LOL I don't want to give up my activities to do better cleaning. Good thing I love him. Thanks for the wonderful comments on my Alaska album.

Have a great day all!

Loving the sunshine today and the many daffodils in bloom. It has been a few days of real spring! Yesterday finished the taxes and tried to e-file, but couldn't get them to go through though I tried many times. At 8:20 am this morning they went through with no problem. Guess everyone was trying to do it yesterday. Have genealogy things to write up and :washing: so not much time to get outside.

Chris, so sorry for your disappointment with the stitches yesterday! Given how the ankle hurt when you did too much, maybe not a total surprise. And Kay is right, the plants will keep on growing and come through the leaves. Did Scott visit Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge in Delaware? I have been there and it is a super place. Having his name on the project and being with like-minded folks sounds like just the thing for him.

Kay, hope you feel better and go to the Red Hat lunch. It's good to get out to see folks and get outside your routine, at least I think so but often don't do.

Oh, Trudy, that painting is a delight! Love the colors and them filling the space. Great shapes too. Hope your MG has a similar experience to mine with cataract surgery as my DH has been extremely pleased with his. I would (will?) find it terrifying, but the results are great.

Nancy, I'm with you on no cleaning gene! I'm sure there are birders out there who have it, but I'm positive many don't. How nice to have a good group for your pool workout. I also don't understand the anti-vaccination thing, but then there are many things these days I don't understand, especially in our government!! Good luck to the Devils on their number.

Have a great day everyone!

:sing:In a small world on an exceptionally rainy Tuesday night, in the right place and time. :music:
Hi, girls! Exceptionally rainy today, but I don't mind. We need more water this year, and after I was watch one interview where fears was shared their fares for this year harvest, because of the drought, one rainy week is warm welcome! I had one quiet moment this afternoon, snuggle with the dog on a porch watching the wet world, it was so peaceful. But Chris is right in sunny day is much more easy to be enthusiast for house work. The rainy song is so much better for scrap, and I was able to use one of the gorgeous photos that my sister gave me from her trip in Germany.

Chris, I would love so much to have you and Cait as my guests! We had friends from England who was rent house for the summer, because weather here is hotter than their, even the nature is similar, and they invite french and italian, so it would be lovely multilanguage company. But the problem is that I'm not exactly sure how we will deal with your Lime, as I'm told you before, our health system is unfamiliar with it.
Aww, did they told you that your leg isn't healed, because you overload it?! So happy about your friend good news! Maybe some of the kids will be able to drive you to visit her!

Kay, I hope you'll find something fun to do at home today! Allergies are such a pits, one of the things that I hate in Spring. The honey is good for the throat, with whatever tea you like.

Trudy, you described lovely day, and hope it will be nice for your family! Hope everything is alright with your husband surgery! Love the colors on this paint! They will be sold, just needs time!

Nancy, as Chris said it's all about the need to control my environment, I'll freak out if someone clean instead me. I think I'll be as a Monica from friends :D . We shared the work between three of us, but everyone have her tasks and I hate to step back from this plan. I think I'm a little bit crazy. But I DO think that this is reason for divorce ;) . Love to hear that you have fun on a workout in the pool! Uhh, I can't understand why teams change their coach and members so often, at the movies I'm watched a team need to work long time together, before to start feels like one organism.

Jean, yes, it's looks like every system crashed when many peoples try to use it at same time. Good that you was able to finished it on time! Enjoy to the good weather, and let the inside tasks for later!

Karen, I love UP, especially the short movie about the couple life at the beginning, always brings me a tear, even on rewatch!
Have fun with your friend!

Well today I get to pay my income taxes. oh joy. At least after that I will meet my sister for coffee and that will take the sting out of it a bit.

Trudy: your painting looks like a piece of marble. I love it.Is it oils that you are using?

Felis: I too have a tear or two in my eye while watching UP. There are so many funny bits in it that I can relate to as I have had several dogs over the years.

Kay: take care and don't let yourself get too tired.
Chris: Have patience. Take the time now to heal correctly as it saves complications later on.

Hi again ladies... DH is home and having a little nap. His cataract removal went beautifully and now he looks like a pirate with an eye patch over his one eye until tomorrow morning.

I am going to attempt to make a page today, now that the house is quiet I should be able to at least start a page for one of the challenges.

Nancy - Sounds like you have a great bunch at your pool therapy!! Thank you for the nice compliment on my painting! Yikes a state of emergency over Measles outbreak?? How on earth did it get to this?? Shame, Shame on those that do not believe in vaccinations!! I too do not understand it, but like Jean I don't understand a lot of things these days :mmph: Hope that the Devils get some great players in the hockey draft, the young ones are so fun to see, playing so hard and it must be so exciting for them! I hope you continue to enjoy your hockey!!

Felis - Isn't it nice to get the rain that is so badly needed for your country! We felt the same way when we finally started to get the wet weather, still need more, but so happy to have what we got! Glad you like the colours in my painting, yes I know I must be patient and hopefully the sales will happen. I will get busy doing some of the suggestions from your sister and yourself, thanks so much for the great advice!

Jean - How nice that you have daffodils finally! I planted some in the back last year and they are looking so beautiful this spring! Hope your geneology time gives you joy and that the warm weather continues on for you! Thanks for loving my painting!! Makes me feel special when you ladies like my work! I secretly wish that I could keep all of them for myself LOL. (don't tell my DH!!)

Karen - I just love your new AVI!! Oh goodie for it being income tax payment day "NOT"!!! Like the government doesn't already take enough of our $$?? My painting is done with acrylics mixed with flotrol and a bit of water, thanks for liking it! it does look like a piece of marble

Ok off to open up Photoshop and see what happens, hopefully my scrapping mojo has not taken a hike!
