Whoa, baby. What an incredibly rough 24 hours. But also incredible is how much *better* I feel today. I am still worn out a bit, my head is still a bit achy, and my back still hurts. Oh, yeah-- the back pain was happening before the shot. hehe.
I spent the entire day in bed, aside from trying to get something to eat. And then throwing it all up. I was expecting the fatigue, headache, chills- but the throwing up is something that simply does not happen to me. Seriously. I couldn't tell you the last time I threw up, I think it was my first Lyme herx (I am not counting any alcohol-related incidents since they were all my fault bit even then it has been about 10+ years). My eyes hurt- light-sensitive and muscles- so I couldn't read so I listened to an audiobook the entire day. Gary was amazing, he made me tea and toast, checked in to see if I needed a heat pack warmed up. Good man :) I think the fever broke last night cuz I woke up drenched and now I have to strip my bed.

I am going to try and take it easy today, picking my groceries in a bit but other than that, I don't have much happening. I am sooo darn glad that I spent the weekend making sure everything was caught up.
I am going to some quick personals and then make some toast for b-fast. HAGD!!

@LSlycord I have all of my fingers and toes crossed that you don't have the same reaction. I know that Advil/Aleve is not recommended but you can take Tylenol-- make sure you have some on hand just in case. And water-- have that water nearby!! Good luck!!
Thanks for opening the thread yesterday even though we were doing it at the same time!

@vickyday I understand everyone has their own personal reason to get vax'd or not, but even though I feel like death yesterday, I feel almost back to normal today and everyone I know who had a reaction said the same. For me and my at-risk family-- worth it! I hope that if you did have it that the antibodies do their thing :)
Thank you for the good thoughts!!

@taxed4ever How was the visit with the ILs? It has to be so hard for them, being elderly is isolating as it is... It makes me so happy the kids were able to get together even if it was just a day or two. When Scott worked at the garden center, he would take me through the greenhouses and I loved it.

@Cherylndesigns My first shot was March 7, the second was Sunday. My arm was sore after the first but that was it. I hope that you don't have a reaction after the second. Hope that your hubs is better today. Thank you for the hearts with wings! Got 'em!

@Nickel it is such a fun song to belt out, isn't it?? Thanks for the good thoughts!

@LSlycord Seriously-- 24 hours later and I am almost back to normal. My family/friends mostly had some headaches and fatigue, and chills. No one had vomiting and painful skin. Like I said, that was how I reacted with a herx, so it is possible that my body was "primed" to react that way already? When Gary heard me throwing up, he was shocked because he knows that I don't. So that is my not-a-doctor theory. :p Good luck vibes coming your way!!!!
ETA: Another reason why I think this could have been related to Lyme/herxes is that all of my POTS symptoms came back too- heart palpitations, and BP issues of dizzy when standing then pounding soon after- I haven't had them in the past year but that happened frequently when I was very sick. Today, *poof* back to normal.

Good to hear that you are doing well today @faerywings . I am fully vaccinated and back home In comfortable clothes. I’m going. To go to work since it is only a few steps away. Lol. But I made my mind up that if I don’t feel well, I’ll take the rest of the day off. I’m too old to play invincible anymore.

Morning ladies... Happy to hear that you are feeling better today @faerywings !! We had a wonderful visit with the In-Laws yesterday as we sat down by the Lake and had our coffee. It was a beautiful day and I even got a bit sunburned. This was the view from where we sat and there was hardly any breeze at all so it was lovely and warm! We talked a bit about FIL's upcoming birthday and they decided that it would be best if we did not have any kind of gathering of the family just yet and probably won't be gathering for my birthday either which is four days after FIL's. It makes me sad to think that we can't celebrate together again this year and who knows maybe next year will be the same? Today I will go do my laps at a little bit earlier time than I was doing before. They have opened up more swimming times so I think that will be better for me and it won't seem like my afternoon is taken up by swimming and then coming home to shower. Hope to get a page started for one of the challenges as we were too busy over the weekend for me to get in here much or spend any time on my computer at all. DH starts working a bit longer days now and won't be home for lunch as often. There has been big changes at his workplace and they are so short on staff, so things had to be re-arranged until they hire new staff. This might finally make him think about retirement, but oh my goodness what would he do with all that spare time LOL. (besides drive me crazy)!!

@faerywings - I really worry about MIL getting her second vaccination, she already has so many health issues and for her to get a bad reaction might land her in the hospital! Sorry to hear that you were throwing up, ugh!! I haven't been sick like that for years either. But now you are done with vaccines for this year at least and I am happy to hear that you are feeling so much better today! I hope that you will be able to get to the nursery one day again, it is so relaxing to just wander around and look at all the different plants and imagine having them in your garden. Where would I put them all LOL. Keep warm and don't over do it today and I bet you will be 100% by tomorrow!

@LSlycord - Good luck with the rest of your day! I am keeping my fingers crossed that you do not have any ill effects from your second shot! Good plan to just not work if you start to feel sickly! Had to chuckle that your work is just a few steps away!! ;) Take care of you!

Hello girls! Nope, I still not have my regular internet connection. Looks like will take way more time than I expected.
Miss you all very much and soon will be back to daily posting!

@taxed4ever You are right usually between the two Easters have one week, but this year the Orthodox Easter (mine) will be on May 2nd, so I'll have plenty of time to get prepared .
Hugs and kisses for all!

Good afternoon, lovlie-OOOOOs.

Chris, @faerywings I'm SO happy to hear that you're feeling better! That hit you like a ton of bricks! I just found out that Roger's brother and his wife had a bad reaction to their 2nd shots, too. It's kind of scaring me, but I still think they're better to get than not to get! Some of you young-uns didn't live through the Polio terror! I was very young, but I remember how panic stricken everybody was! The parents were beside themselves. The day the Salk Vaccine was finally available, people lined up everywhere and anywhere to get it! I guess we didn't know what we were getting then, but it was better than being in an iron lung! I still get the heebie jeebyies when I see one of those on an old TV show. Same with DPT! We're watching Call The Midwife and they're right in the beginning of people getting that vaccine. The doctor's (one of the main characters) son contracts Polio and has to be in one. I can't even look at one w/o my claustraphobia kicking in.

My hubby is feeling much better! Thanks for asking. I think - like you - his may have been brought about the vaccine + preexisting conditions and medication he's on for that. Hard to say. He slept for 13 hours Sunday! He had been unable to sleep at ALL (like you, Chris) the whole night before. He's feeling better each day.

Trudy @taxed4ever what wonderful pictures that you took while visiting with your inlaws. How wonderful to see them and enjoy coffee down by the lake. I'm sorry that you can't have a co-birthday celebration again this year. :(

@felis Felis, you having wifi problems, too??? I feel your pain! Our hotspot hasn't been working worth a darn for the last few days and I'm having more luck with my phone hotspot.

Linda @LSlycord I hope all goes well after your second shot. I'm anxious to hear how you get along. We still have to get our second one at the end of April.

I'm going to go now and check the board. Hugs to all

@faerywings Chris - I'm so glad that my little cyber hearts made it all the way to you.

Hi, everyone... Things are getting better for me finally. Had my stress test yesterday and results are the heart is fine. The Blood Pressure was in the normal range both before and after the test!!! Hooray!!! I was tired after the test but feeling better than I have in awhile. Hope to be back to scrapping sometime this week.... but taking it slow and easy for awhile. But, I am still glad I got the 2nd Covid shot even with all that happened since I had it. Will still be taking care when I am out and about and glad that my sister (who has had both her shots) will be coming for a visit later on this month.
Yes, Cheryl, I remember the polio epidemic and how everyone was so worried about it and couldn't wait until the Salk Vaccine was available. They closed the swimming pool in our town for a year and many of the activities for that summer.

Chris, so sorry that you had a bad reaction but glad to hear you are feeling better now. Glad you had Gary there to help you.

Linda, hope you don't have a reaction to your 2nd shot.

Trudy, what beautiful photos... I can see why you enjoyed sitting by the lake and enjoying the warm day. Glad you have a good visit with the in-laws.

Time to go get the mail. I fell asleep yesterday afternoon and skipped getting the mail after that. Better go get it today before I sit down to read. LOL ....

@Cherylndesigns I bought new computer and my provider wants the cable guy manually to set up their drivers. So antique! As my country was in lockdown I wasn't able to schedule with them for early visit and I'm still waiting.

As the other devices use different provider I'm not totally cut off. And you can see me too active in Insta :D! Thank you for your comments there! Once I'm connected again will post pics of these of my amigurumi here too!

I’m reporting in. I worked my regular day after the vaccine, had supper and went to bed early because I was tired. No headache, nauseous, fever or chills. It has been 22 hours and I have a sore arm. I may have lucked out ladies!
