Good morning! I hope it is going to be better than yesterday.
This is me after yet another mass shooting:
giphy.webp

That is pretty much how I reacted yesterday. My day didn't get off to a good start. Gary had turned down the temperature of the refrigerator the other day and didn't realize that there was an unopened glass bottle of green tea shoved toward the back. And of course, it was on the top shelf. When I grabbed the grapes, I noticed that the bowl was filled with liquid. Moved a few more things and green tea and glass were everywhere. I had to take every darn item and shelf out and scrub everything. After that, I was working on my grocery order when I notice a Breaking News alert about the shooting. Gary and I were thinking about a walk but I told him, I need to put my headphones in, get my audiobook going, and work outside by myself.
I know that I should ignore the news and such but the shootings really upset me. It is hard to ignore them when they happen almost every day. pffffft

Being outside for a few hours really did the trick, I felt so much better when I saw how much I had accomplished. The daffodils that I moved to get more sun last year are looking good, only one has bloomed so far but the rest look like they should soon. I saw some buds on the very few tulips I have left, so maybe they will bloom too.
And the (potentially) best part is that I *think* I might have some evidence that Tif is back. He lives in a long but shallow planter. I used to grow cilantro in it but I gave up a few years ago when he moved in. He burrows into the dirt and I can usually tell when he's around because he has to dig a hole and the dirt gets piled up next to the hole. I moved the planter from under the hedges into the sunnier spot on the patio. I've been peeking under the clay pot that's like his little roof and no sign at all....until yesterday. Yesterday I saw a small hole in front of the clay pot. No sign of him yet. I lightly put some more dirt over it and if gets moved, I'll know that he is back.

I swear, it is the little things that keep me going, a plant popping out of the ground or a toad in my planter... they make me smile.

If Gary is up to it, we are going for a walk with the dogs this morning. That will be a good idea because the cupcakes that I got from the FP-- To die for. Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and sooooo yummy. There were only 4 in the pack so one for each of us, thank goodness. If there were more, I'd eat them all.
My TfT is if you ever see Kimberley’s Bakeshoppe cupcakes: Buy them! :rotfl:

Have a wonderful, and to borrow @Nonni F phrase- a peaceful day
:blowkiss:

@LSlycord Hope that you didn't get lost on your way to work yesterday morning LOL!
How is your daily routine going, are you getting into a good rhythm by now?

@Cherylndesigns :floorlaugh: I can imagine the mob scene at your house and that poor guy who didn't really know anyone! "We're a lot to take." Understatement of the year, Cheryl. *snorts* When new people are around my family I feel like it is trial by fire, and not everyone can make it. Those that do are tough as nails, however. Or just as kooky as we are.
Someone needs to make a scorecard to see how long it takes one of us to derail a thread into emoji/Bitmoji fighting :giggle4:
I had a doctor, my mom's pacemaker surgeon, say that to me about my jeans when I went with her for a consult.
No need to thank us for sending good thoughts to Roger, you're O-Fam, he is extended O-Fam :D

You can't grow up in an Italian family and not worry about having enough food while still being able to feed an entire village.

@vickyday I know that most Rx labels say to take abx on an empty stomach but LLMD has told us that it's safe to take them with a light meal or snack. Some of them - like doxycycline- are notorious for being rough on the stomach. You might want to take a probiotic as well, to keep the good bacteria in the gut balanced, especially since your stomach is not feeling the best as it is.
I might not be a doctor but I have taken a whole lotta abx in my lifetime  ;)

@bcgal00 I saw the pics of the dogs in the snow! It was so nice to see Taz too! Remi made me laugh at her and the big stick. W did the same thing yesterday. I use rocks and large tree branches to line the side of the "lawn" and she thinks its a blast to drag them around and chew on them.

Good morning, World!

@bcgal00 the Cruise is getting closer, @LSlycord hopefully you're settling into your new routine. @vickyday I hope you are feeling better this morning.
@faerywings Chris, I hear your heart! This probably isn't the place for my strong opinions on all things criminal but I do believe there is no one remedy to all of this. As a whole, society needs to do better and to be better. Like you, my heart breaks every time I turn on the news... and much like you, yesterday, when I got home from work I went outside. I raked leaves and dug in the dirt (in other words, tried to bury my head in the sand, ignoring a world that has simply gone mad)

May there be something in today that makes you smile and gives you hope.

Good Morning everyone! I have been MIA for a couple of days, so very busy! Today will be a bit quieter, but I will be going for a birthday lunch with my sisters today. My birthday is not until the 14th but I will not be here for it. My DH is taking us to the beautiful "King Fisher Resort and Spa"!! We figure that we won't be going on any exotic vacations for a bit longer, so this will be a great mini holiday for us and a great birthday gift for me!! I am very happy to be going for a couple of days of rest and relaxation! The Dance we attended was so much fun, we had a great time dancing the night away!! I was very well behaved and did not partake in drinking, except for a couple of bottles of water. We spent the night at my brother's and had a lovely breakfast with them before heading out to the In-Laws for FIL's 89th birthday. We managed to get a few things done for them, that required extra hands and then FIL asked if I would hook him up with a new G-Mail account as he has had so much trouble with his internet provider one. It was a very rainy day, but my Gary and SIL Linda's man, Mark cooked us some Burgers under the carport and we enjoyed an early supper with everyone! We got home in time to see the last period of the hockey game, which the Bruins won again!!! Hooray!! DH and I were sound asleep in bed by 9:30 . I slept in until 8:30 and had the most wonderful sleep in a long time!! Yesterday we got a delivery of a new and much larger propane tank, so now we won't have to order as many times during the winter. We have propane for the fireplace and the BBQ, so we really don't use too much in the warmer months, but use a lot in the winter when it helps to heat the upstairs of the house. Then it was a day of doing housework :multitasking::laundry::mopping::ironing::vacuuming:not all in this order LOL . I am hoping to finally catch up a bit around here at the O and actually do some scrapping! Tomorrow is hike day and maybe a swim on Thursday?? Then Friday we will leave to head up Island for our mini vacation another busy week!

@faerywings - So sad about yet another shooting in the States!! Seems the world has gone crazy!! Glad that you were able to be outside and get some dirt therapy!! I am also happy that there are signs that your little toad friend might be back to keep you company in the garden! Sounds like you and your Gary are getting in your steps with walking the dogs,:walkingdog: they must be happy about that too!! Uggh about having to totally clean your fridge again, that is frustrating!! The goodies you got from the FP sound really yummy!! I think I gained 5 lbs just thinking about them, thanks a lot LOL.

@Nonni F - You are right! We all need to do better and treat each other kinder!! Glad to hear you got in some dirt therapy yesterday too!

@bcgal00 - Wooo Hooo. only 4 more days!!

Waving Hello to everyone else here today, I hope you have a quiet and happy day!! :waving1

Good morning ladies. Slept in a bit which was nice. I know we'll be very busy on the trip so if I can get a bit of extra sleep beforehand I think that is good. We go pick up the travel documents today. My suitcases are packed but I need to do a final weight check and will take photos of each so I know how to pack to come home b/c I won't be able to weigh them on the ship to make sure I'm below the airline requirement.

We played the new dice game I had bought - Qwixx. It is fun. It'll be even more fun when we play it with a bunch of others. I'm bringing signup sheets for our games to arrange times for others to join us. Plus, we'll get to see what games others have signups for. I saw the signup for bridge and canasta but I don't play those.

Jen is leaving for 2 days in Vancouver. Hopefully she will get her braces off. I'd better go say bye.

Good morning O Fam.

Chris @faerywings I knew you'd get a good laugh out of our Sunday dinner - "trial by fire" - I love that - that's a great analogy. We've had a few people who just couldn't take us - we ARE a lot - we're loud and crazy and we all talk at once. Then there's always the inevitable wrestling match that breaks out after dinner. The kids always start scuffling - Ava and Braden were the culprits Sunday. She was showing me Jujitsu moves on him - he's 6'3" so it was hilarious. They were rolling around on the floor in the living room, which is part of the dining room - their whole living space is open so you get the picture. It would probably be hard to take without a couple of drinks. :drinks2::pillowfight:It's so cool, they had a special "family table" made and it's SO long that we can always all get around it. Roger wanted to sit at the head of the table and "take in" his family and friends. We had planned to play a game, but it was so rowdy before we got to that, that Adrienne and I nixed it. He always sits there, Chuck sits to his left and Adrienne and I on the right. LOL My seat got taken by one of their friends, so I sat at the other end by the "new guy". I think he was glad I was beside him. I looked at him at one point and said "nothing is off-limits here". (We discuss some very strange things).
One side of the table has a long "bench seat" all the way down, so Chuck sits at the end, beside Roger, so he doesn't have to "scoot" and the other side has chairs - that's why Adrienne and sit on the other side. There's a method to our madness - sometimes. :rotfl:The "seating chart" was established at the onset.

Here's a picture of just our family around the table. We can squeeze in several more peeps and I was not in my usual seat, because Asher wanted me to sit by him. (Adrienne wasn't in the picture - she took it.)

Waving to everybody. The weather is beautiful today and I'm going to go for a walk later. I'm itching to put my "baby plants" outside, but it still gets pretty cool at night. I'm going to wait one more week.

XOXO

Good evening ladies. I don't think that I'm quite into a routine yet...it is 8 pm...but I'm getting there. Still a little chilly today but it was sunny. Tomorrow up to 78 so it is back to warming up. I have my first appointment with PT tomorrow morning. I'm hoping that they can get me some ideas on what to do to improve my shoulder.

@faerywings glad that the time out in the sun yesterday gave you what you needed!

Yes, I know that abx will kill the good bacteria. That IS a concern since my stomach is a mess on a regular basis anyway!

12:20 a.m.
Good Morning!
What a difference 24 hours makes! I didn't sleep well again last night. Got up at 6:30 a.m. to take an antibiotic and went back to bed. It was almost 10:30 when I woke up! Got up and took my shower but had to drag a chair into the bathroom so I could sit to dry and style my hair because I was feeling weak and lightheaded. I stepped on the scale and found I have lost 10 lbs in the last 10 days! OY VEY! After I was up for awhile and got some liquid in me (tea) I was feeling better. Went to the store for some things to take to our church family who is grieving over the loss of their mother. Got back home and fixed the Stouffers Lasagnas I bought for our supper tonight since I'm still not up to standing for long periods of time over a cook stove. I got the family sized Meat Lasagna, Chicken Vegetable Bake, and the Veggie Lasagna. And I did eat some. Then after we got back from the viewing I was able to eat some more! WOOHOO! I've actually felt hungry all evening! And I am feeling so well that I cleaned up the kitchen and did 2 loads of laundry this evening! Thank You, LORD!

Baby steps! :lovey3: :bye2:
